How can I uninstall adobe flash player?

I was required to install it when I was going to upload something on metacafe but now that I have I can't do a lot of other flash things because of it and there is like no way to get rid of it, so how can I get rid of it because the other sites I use are really important to me and now I can't use them.

You have to uninstall FlashPlayer to update it from a download rather than using the auto-updater.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
Note that Adobe requires you to uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

There is no need to add yet another thread on this very tired subject.
Adobe has announces d that they are selling a platforms that will allow ipad users to view flash content. This is nothing that users will have. The developer of the video will have to do this.

I just downloaded adobe flash player 11.3 and I'm using firefox but none of the video resources work . The area where the video is supposed to be running is just black. I tried to uninstall adobe flash player 11.3 and download version 11.2 again but it doesn't allow me to. It sais that there is a newer version available so I can't download the older one!

Pat, How about Adobe re-releasing this (or another convenient/working) version as the *current latest version* for all firefox/other_plugin_browser users for the time being? A possible cause is that you do not have the latest version of the Shockwave Flash player (16.0.0.305).
You can check that in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" ("Ask to Activate" or "Always Activate").

Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X - This is the Active X Control for Flash Player 10 (Flash Player for Internet Explorer)
Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin - This the plugin for Flash Player 11 (Flash Player for other browser, like : Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome)
If you do not need Flash Player for Internet Explorer, then you can uninstall Flash Player 10 Active X.

Right now if you sleep your Air with headphones in, you will lose sound and need to reboot in some peoples instances, and I have verified same.
This of course has nothing to do with Adobe flash player.
Verify this point before uninstalling same.
