How can I uninstall iCloud on my iTouch 4g?

I got my itouch for Christmas yesterday and while setting up it asked if I would like to use iCloud so I said yes and set it up. Well at that time I was not aware of the fact that it takes up 3gb of memory. And my itouch is only 8. So now my iPod has over capacity issues. And i attempted to uninstall from the itouch but it just deleted my icloud account. So idk how, but now my itouch will not even show up in the sidebar of iTunes when i connect it to my computer... I've only had it for a day and I would certainly hope I didnt break it :'(

Restore your I pod touch.  i cloud does not take up 3GB.  You have a corrupt file somewhere.  Resote will fix it.

  • How can I remove iCloud from my iTouch

How can I revert to synching my iTouch ONLY through my iTunes account (on my MacBook Pro)? The synching of podcasts does not work (and/or is VERY slow) and is too confusing with iCloud (oh why did I ever bother with that?!) and keeps repeating old episodes. It was FAR simpler before iCloud and it WORKED! (I am using the the latest versions of OS X and iOS and generation 5 iTouch.) I have already turned off all iCloud options on my iTouch. Can't stand the intrusion and complexity (and vulnerability)!

I try synching my podcasts (mostly from BBC radio 4!) from my laptop to my iTouch using iTunes, but this is not very reliable (it used to be, before this blasted iCloud messed it all up): some programmes don't come across (especially the newly downloaded episodes) and it repeatedly lists old episodes available on the cloud (even though I continue to delete references to these), which is really annoying, as they are just not wanted. (If I did want them, I can get them from the BBC website anyway.)
Because it is so unreliable at syncing like this (after all, it DOESN'T synch if there are differences between what is on my laptop and what is on my iTouch!), I end up having to download the episodes again directly onto my iTouch. Not only does this drain the battery, but I go to many places where the internet is very slow, unreliable and/or expensive, so I certainly don't want to download these files more than necessary.
This is one reason why I don't like the cloud approach (others being a loss of privacy and control): there are still many places (including here in the UK), where a fast, reliable and inexpensive internet connection can most certainly not be relied upon - something that the cloud approach seems to assume is not a problem. So self-contained independence is still important for me!

  • HT4759 How to Completely Uninstall iCloud? Office 2007 Save As Crashes

I can no longer use "Save As" in Office 2007 since I enabled ICloud.  Word and Excel Crash. And Outlook does not seem to be about to send more than one email at a time.  I have to select the Send/Receive button right after I create a new email.  If I wait and create a second email, the first email in the outbox changes status from ready to send to cannot send.  And even if I open it and try to send it, it will not send.  I have to re-create it.
I want to know how to thoroughly uninstall ICloud.  Other posters on Microsoft (Girish M) and Apple (SkinnyNick) have indicated that the problem is related to ICloud.  And I can confirm that I started having problems right after enabling ICloud.  Here are the references:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-excel/excel-2007-clo sing-unexpectedly-when-trying-to/69705682-06ca-4e39-b17e-56d4bacc3452
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4607859?start=0&tstart=0
I spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot this problem.  I ran the Office install to repair.  This did not work.  I uninstalled all Office 2007 related products.  I then manually purged all directories relating to office including the Common Shared Directories.  Then, I ran Microsoft's FixIt to uninstall Office to make sure everything was uninstalled.  Then, I reinstalled Office 2007 and it still failed.  I thought about installing Office 2010, but the second post (above SkinnyNick) indicates that this would not work.
So, I am looking for a way to uninstall iCloud including that parts that is causing this problem.  Now, the second post (above) from
SkinnyNick) says that he tried to uninstall iCloud but this did not fix the problem.  He finally reconfigured iCloud by de-selecting Outlook, but I would rather completely remove iCloud.
Can anyone provide instructions on how to completely remove iCloud so that my Office 2007 products will function again using Save As?
    Thanks,
    Rob

As a Windows Application Developer who has more than 28 years of professional development experience, I can tell you that anything is possible in terms of how developers implement their applications. I have seen just about everything under the sun, and it would not surprise me if Apple's iCloud not only places files in key Windows directories, but it may use configuration information in a file as opposed to the Window Registry to control how their application behaves. And this would prevent “System Restore" from fixing the problem. Configuration information can be stored in many places. And, even if you do use the Windows Registry to control how your application works, you can key off of new files (like a user profile file) to control how your application to behaves. Csound1, you have been very generous with your time, and I am very grateful for your advice. Thank you.

How can I uninstall Yosemite and reinstall Loin with out losing all my in formation and programsThis had been the worst os system apple has come out, too many errors
    too many to list.
    a few
Losing all mail. and watching them disappear in front of my eyes and could nothing about it
also when accessing cloud the screen just rolls in when accessing mail, like loading and loading and loading for 1 to 2 minuets.
I did not up grade my Mac Book Pro, and is working fine,
Just my iMac, its act kile avid card and it only happens access iCloud mail.
so I want to and need to go back to Loin

You can't unless you have a current backup of your old Lion system because the first thing you must do is erase the drive. It 's possible to use Target Disk Mode between your iMac and the MBP in order to clone the MBP to the iMac. However, that will still erase everything on the iMac's drive.
Or you could see about getting Yosemite to work correctly. If you have IMAP mail, then your mail should be intact.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the 10.10.1 update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Download and install the 10.10.1 update.
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

How can I use iCloud-keychain if i can not find my country in the country code list?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your country code does not appear in the list…
Go to System Preferences > iCloud > Keychain and enter your Apple ID password (Settings > iCloud > Keychain, from a mobile device)
Select the ‘Create Different Code’ option. (Mobile devices only)
Select the advanced option and choose whether to create a random code or no code, selecting the later allows syncing across devices but not with Apple’s servers.

I moved to iCloud, and so far it looks like everything is where it's supposed to be. My question is about syncing. When I delete an email on my Mac, iCloud restores it. How can I configure iCloud so that changes I make on my Mac and my iPhone stay changed?

On the Mac in System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.
ON the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is switched on.
And try restarting your Mac and iPhone.

  • HT4901 I have HughesNet with a capped amount of Internet capacity. How can I use iCloud but adjust the time it is on to conserve my Internet allowance and not have to backup my information all the time????

I have HughesNet satellite for an ISP with a capped amount of Internet capacity. How can I use iCloud but adjust the time it is on to conserve my Internet allowance and not have to back up my information all the time?

    Thanks Roger W1,
Yes, I was using iTunes to sync over cable without problems since orinigal purchase in 2011 and using 10.6 w/o problem. There was an "update" in Nov 2012 that crashed the sync service. I went to the Apple Store and reviewed the problem with the Geniuses there. It was discovered at that time that the update included mandated use of iCloud but enough of the un-updated code remained that he was able to patch functions to allow Microsoft Office to still sync over iTunes.
This March (+/-) there was another "update" to 10.6 that totally destroyed the patch that was in place so there was no sync service available between Microsoft and iTunes what-so-ever. Then recently, because of some unknown process, all my notes, contacts, and calendars were erased in both my Apple utilities and Microsoft utilities.
After many hours of frustration I was able to recover most of the information to the Apple utilities only, but those were unstable. At my visit to the Apple store it was suggested that an upgrade to 10.8 might solve the stability problem. That it did but being connected to the iCloud all the time keeps using up all my Internet time and I have nothing left to check emails or do research.
This, to me, is not my problem but one created by Apple. I have searched the Internet and support groups and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
The "aircraft mode" turns off all other communication functions and is not acceptable. Neither is disconnecting/turning off Airport on my MBP.
    Thanks,
    Jay

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
