How can I uninstall old versions of Adobe Illustrator?

This is for uninstalling CS2, but you might find it helpful. EDITED: but watch out, since I don't know if trashing any of these will remove currently needed Illustrator files, if you have a later version.
To uninstall Adobe Creative Suite in Mac OS 1 -- Double-click Activity Monitor.app in Applications/Utilities, select AHCRemind, and click Quit Process.
2 -- If you intend to install the product on a different computer, transfer the activation. (See “To transfer the product activation” on page 1.)
3 -- If you want to uninstall Adobe Acrobat, double-click the uninstaller in Applications/Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, and follow the on-screen instructions.
4 -- If you want to uninstall Version Cue 2, double-click the uninstaller in Applications/Adobe VersionCue CS2, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If the Version Cue uninstaller fails, see the alternative procecure, “To remove Version Cue manually” on page 4.
5 -- From the Applications folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: Note: After you drag the items to the trash in steps 5-8, you must empty the trash before you can reinstall

8 -- From the Users/[user name] folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: • Library/Preferences Panes/Opera Preferences

• Documents/AdobeStockPhotos
To remove Version Cue manually (Mac OS only, not recommended)
If you’ve accidentally removed parts of the Version Cue installation manually or if the uninstaller fails, you have to remove the remaining installed Version Cue components manually.
1 -- From the Library/PreferencePanes folder, drag the Version Cue CS2.prefPane folder to the trash. 2 -- From the Library/Preferences folder, drag the com.adobe.versioncueCS2.plist file to the trash. 3 -- From the Library/StartupItems folder, drag the AdobeVersionCueCS2 folder to the trash. 4 -- From the Applications folder, drag the Adobe Version Cue CS2 folder to the trash.
5 -- From [user home]/Library/Preferences/Adobe, drag the Workflow folder to the trash. 6 -- (Optional) From the [user home]/Documents folder, drag the Version Cue folder to the trash.

My understanding is that ESR has been brought out primarily to deal with this sort of problem ensuring software may be certified in an enterprise, and does not change as often (so it will remain as Firefox 10 with point releases for a while).

Adobe AIR--can't uninstall old version

I am trying to update to the new version of air but i can't uninstall my old version, tried add & remove programs and it just sits there and does nothing.

I went into microsoft fix and repair and used it to uninstall air. i
Now having problems installing new version of air. It is just sitting on the Adobe Air set up window with installing doing nothing been sitting like that for 10 minutes.

Family hates 1.9 - how can we get old version back?

We live in Mass and got IMG 1.9 two days ago. We can't stand it.
We find the guide and DVR menu is much harder to read; the changed colors and format make it difficult to see at a distance.
And its much slower. We can't click through the guide channels like the previous version. Move of the button presses are ignored, and we can no longer hold it down to quickly scroll through the whole list.
And when using the guide to switch channels, it often disables the volume control after switching the channel. So after going to a new channel we're stuck with whatever volume it has!
I spoke with Tech Support and they did a box "reset" which made no difference. Apparently they've heard many complaints but can't do anything about it.
In a nutshell, we used to be very satisfied but now my whole family hates it, and we're considering changing providers.
I didn't ask for this so-called upgrade and want the old version back. Can someone advise on how to get it back?

There's a system utility msconfig that (among other things) lets you have some control over what gets run at startup.
You can run it from the "Start/Run..." button.
Hmmm...early versions of Lightroom used to have a separate program that started up with the system and waited for you to insert a card with pictures on it, at which point it would fire up Lightroom. The name was apdproxy.exe . It could be that there's something plugged into a USB port that is triggering that. Removing it from starting by running msconfig, would probably solve your problem. Look for it in the Startup tab.

I want to create a new menu in Adobe Illustrator menu structure, and I want to call another application through that menu. After hours of searching in web I came to know that I have to work with Plugin programming. So I downloaded the adobe illustrator SDK CS3 and started the programming using Visual Studio .NET 2005 with the sample codes provided with the SDK. And I am still not able to find out the any solution for adding a new menu. The problem is the the documentation provided with the sample code is too short, I am not able to understand the control flow , the functions used in the sample code.
