How can I unsynch my podcasts on my computer?
My iPhone and computer have not been in synch since the ipod ap was pulled out of music as a stand alone.
I had instructions for putting my podcasts back in the 'more' tab of my music ap, but it calls for checking the
'unsynch' tab that was in the previous iteration of itunes. Since downloading itunes 11, I can't find the option under
podcasts to unsynch. I am so unhappy with how podcasts are downloading and playing now. Please share fixes.
If your iPod is set to update automatically just connect it to your new computer and when you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Erase and Sync" This will remove the songs that are on it and replace them with whatever is in your new iTunes.
Another way to start over is to restore the iPod on your new computer. Restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

You can have more than one category - this page shows you how the tags are formed:

The Store will list only the first category and its sub-category at the top of the page. Like the first category, the others will in theory make your podcast available for searching by category. However searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note:

Note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special.

How can I remove a podcast from iTunes if iTunes is locked up.
I added a password protected podcast and iTunes locks up on the authentication dialog. Spinning beachball... only thing I can do is force quit.
Earlier solution was to go in and manually disable podcasts with Xcode. but then i can't play any of my podcasts.
The recent itunes update fixed the problem, sort of. it allowed me to use itunes normally again. But, I tried to subscribe to the podcast agin and... yup, same thing.
How can I remove that podcast from iTunes without using iTunes to remove it?

JDelete the app from your device. Restart your device once or twice. After that, the device will realize you want to manage your podcasts using iTunes and will let you manage them from iTunes again.

In fact your files do force a download - paste the URL into Safari's address bar and hit return - they will download rather than play inside the browser as they should. However they do play in the Store, so perhaps they've now instituted a workaround for that.

There are four episodes, the latest being 25 February; all four appear in the Store and when subscribing.
If you want to amend the contents of the 'Description' column and the text you see when you click the 'i' next to it you need to amend the 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags respectively. The overall 'Description' which appears in the Store page above the episodes is carried in the 'itunes:summary' tag in the top section of the feed. If you want to amend these you will need to do so wherever you constructed the feed, presumably in Soundcloud. You cannot do so in iTunes itself, it simply reads what's in the feed. -

How can I delete the podcasts that I have not downloaded but show up as being in the cloud
How can I delete the podcasts that show up as being in the cloud when viewing them in the List mode? Most of these are past episode that I previously downloaded and then deleted. I know that I can look at my podcasts in Unplayed mode which removes those in the cloud but then I can't sort them first by podcast title and then by episode date the way I can in List mode. This was not a problem before iTunes 11.1 when I could simply delete those in the cloud.
That is discouraging. However I do notice that if I view my podcasts in My Podcasts mode they are grouped and sorted better than in Unplayed mode and the ones in the cloud are not shown. However although I prefer the one window view of List mode to the two windows My Podcast mode, My Podcast mode does at least indicate how many unplayed episodes I have from each podcast. This would almost be acceptable except that partially listened to podcasts, while still there, can only be identified by highlighting the podcast title on the lefthand sidebar, (although the number of completely unplayed episodes are listed on the left hand sidebar). As someone who often listens to a podcast over two or more days I fear I could forget which ones I have only partially listened to and would have to go down the entire left hand sidebar list highlighting each podcast to remind myself. I really find the List mode the most informative and easiest way to view my podcasts and really wish Apple had not messed with it

Using iTunes for a decade now, I still having the same problem that I don't know how to solve:
How can I sync my podcasts subscriptions and play states between Macs and iDevices?
I am having two MPBs and one iMac, as well as an iPhone and iPad (yes, making someone rich in California), all of them are linked to the same iTunes/Apple account, they are not in the same Wifi.
What I would like to have that all these iTunes (plural) have the same Podcasts with the same played/unplayed states...
Is there any way to do that now, possible with iCloud? I am completely confused now that they have introduced podcast.app for iDevices...

To keep your subscriptions in sync across all devices, the article says this:
"To subscribe to a podcast on your device, tap the Subscribe button from the podcast provider's page from the Podcast catalog. Enable subscription syncing to keep your subscription up-to-date across your iOS devices. On your iOS device tap Settings > Podcasts > Sync Subscriptions > ON.
To sync playback position, the article says this:
"Playback Sync automatically allows you to sync your playback position to all of your iOS devices with the Podcasts app installed, using your Apple ID. In order for Playback Sync to sync your playback position, you must be signed in to the iTunes Store using the same Apple ID on your iOS devices."
As for keeping playback position on your iOS devices in sync with iTunes on your Macs, you'll need iTunes 11 on all your Macs. So if you're still using iTunes 10 or earlier, you'll need to run a software update to get the latest version. I really need help! Thx:)If you have another download that did not complete - Let it finish or try to delete it as well. If its a song, finish the download or the the swipe to delete feature, it its an app try tapping and holding down on it to delete it or tap on the icon to finish the download.
Eiether complete those downloads or try to delete them and then see if you can use the swipe to delete or tap and hold down on the podcast to delete them.
You can also try Settings>General>Music>Podcasts and see if you can delete them in there. Tap the edit button and see if you get the red circle to the left of the podcast. -
How can I transfer an app from my computer to my iphone? I think I downloaded incorrectly and now the app won't let me download again. I find the app on my computer but I don't know how to transfer it - or if I even can.

Does the app show up on the App List on iTunes? If it does, then it's been saved to your iTunes folder on your hard drive. Do a search for the app, because I just don't think you can move an item from your iPad to iTunes, unless you purchased it on the iPad, which it sounds like you didn't.
You should be able to re-download the iPad version of the app, if one exists. Contact the developer, who might be able to help out.

I have two excel files I cannot open or delete from my desktop. One is titled 6ACAD200 and the other file is titled 8D73A700. How can I get these off of my computer?
From the names I'd guess they are temporary files. If excel is running, quit and try again. If they still won't move or delete reboot. If they still won't move or delete...kill a chicken at midnight under an oak tree?

If I imported a CD into my iTunes library from one computer how can I listen to it from another computer? I imported music from a CD into my compter at work and when I got home and went to my iTunes account none of the songs were in my library. I also noticed that on my Work computer there were a couple songs that I had to click on the little 'cloud' icon before I could listen to them (these were not songs I imported they were songs that were already in my library). Not sure if this makes semse...help.
