How can I upload a word/excel file to a website from my iPad?

Hello everyone,
I use my iPad mainly for my job, I'm a professional translator. Unfortunately, I'm having a very big trouble, for my needs of course, that comes when I have completed my translation on a file word/excel and it's time to upload on the website. Infact, my iPad is not browsing the place where these file to upload are stored but only pictures from the gallery. Did anyone run into this before?

iDVD does not care about file sizes, as it compresses the file to the standard DVD format of mpeg2.
It only cares about length i.e. max 2 hours including titles etc.

Short version:
Best Performance is for videos of up to 60 minutes
Best Quality is for videos of up to 120 minutes
Professional Quality is also for up to 120 minutes but even higher quality (and takes much longer)
Professional Quality: The Professional Quality option uses advanced technology to encode your video, resulting in the best quality of video possible on your burned DVD. You can select this option regardless of your project’s duration (up to 2 hours of video for a single-layer disc and 4 hours for a double-layer disc). Because Professional Quality encoding is time-consuming (requiring about twice as much time to encode a project as the High Quality option, for example) choose it only if you are not concerned abo
In both cases the maximum length includes titles, transitions and effects etc. Allow about 15 minutes for these.
You can use the amount of video in your project as a rough determination of which method to choose. If your project has an hour or less of video (for a single-layer disc), choose Best Performance. If it has between 1 and 2 hours of video (for a single-layer disc), choose High Quality. If you want the best possible encoding quality for projects that are up to 2 hours (for a single-layer disc), choose Professional Quality. This option takes about twice as long as the High Quality option, so select it only if time is not an issue for you.
Use the Capacity meter in the Project Info window (choose Project > Project Info) to determine how many minutes of video your project contains.
NOTE: With the Best Performance setting, you can turn background encoding off by choosing Advanced > “Encode in Background.” The checkmark is removed to show it’s no longer selected. Turning off background encoding can help performance if your system seems sluggish.
And whilst checking these settings in iDVD Preferences, make sure that the settings for NTSC/PAL and DV/DV Widescreen are also what you want.

How are you uploading?
I do not see this behavior in DWCS4 or DWCC (I assume nothing changed in DWCS6 and then back for DWCC, but I could be wrong).
However, when I upload, I only select the files I have modified after an initial "Upload Entire Site? Yes/No" prompt. If you aren't selecting specific files to upload, and you're overwriting the files on your server with new copies of your entire local site each time, the mod dates would show as the date/time of your upload.
To select only the files that have changed since your last upload...
1. Right click on your local root folder in the Files window under Local View
2. Go to Select > Newer Local from the context menu
3. Wait until DW is done talking to the server, it could take a while, when it's done, all of the files that have a newer mod date locally than their server counterparts will be selected
4. Click the Put (up arrow) button
For me, this process never changes the dates of files that aren't part of the upload.

I am trying to email MS-word and excel files from those programs. I select File, Send to, but the send to mail recipient option is not operative. I can't select it, its not illuminated. Any ideas how to fix this so I can email MS-word and Excel files?

Whether you use office 2013.
Considering this .doc file can be smoothly opened in Office if you downloaded it to your local, it indicates that the Word document and Microsoft Word doesn’t have any problems. The issue may be caused by the compatibility between Office
and your site.
1.Check whether you have the SharePoint OpenDocuments Class add on enabled at first.
Internet Explorer >Tools iron > Manage add-ons >
Choose to Show All add-ons. Find SharePoint OpenDocuments Class and make sure it’s enabled.
2.go to Compatibility view settings > add your SharePoint site to compatibility view
3.go to Internet Options,
Advanced > Reset… > Check Delete personal settings and reset
Security > Trusted sites > sites > add SharePoint sites to trusted sites
4.If it doesn’t work, please open Word, go to Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View > Uncheck all.

Do you mean the DataViz Desktop To Go Applications? If so, the Standard Edition is free, but does not include the PDF reader. The Premium Edition costs, but add's the PDF reader. If you previously had the Premium Edition, then you simply use your previous license code to reinstall and activate it.
In any event, if it's indeed these apps you are asking about, then you need to be asking DataViz -- they are the vendor of those apps. They have lots of information on their website.

How can I retain the attached .pdf files (displayed as icons) from my word file 2010 to a pdf file?

I have looked for an answer in this forum ... without any good result.
I worked on a Word 2010 file with some attached pdf files. These attached files are displayed as icons on the word file. If you double click on them, you can consult them. This works very good.
Problem: I would like to convert this word 2010 file into a pdf file, which keeps the icons (linked to attached files) active. If I "pdf" this with my current system, icons are displayed as pictures: I cannot open the attached files.
My question is very simple: is it possible to retain these active icons (= to open attached documents) in a pdf file? Which adobe package should I use?

• video files are huge.. check your contract, how much webspace your provider offers you.. (1 GB as a start)

• the usual dilemma - what codec? YouTube made flv popular (=compatible with 99% of computers, 0% compatible with smart-phones and iPads..); actually, we're (and YT..) in transition to html5, which allows the more lean and 'better' h264 codec.. but do your guests use 'modern' browsers as Safari/FF/GC...? Do you have to offer a 'switch', flv/new? ...
• you have to upload your encoded files to your web-host, add some lines of code which generates a 'player'-experience (= tons of advice and free downloads around the net...); 'link' the code to your site-folders containing the videos - done.
• webspace and traffic
• decision to encode in what ..
• encoding video, probably wth some 3rd party encoder
• some 'website generator software' which allows manual coding for embedding your 'player'-code
=> now you see, HOW convenient iWeb is...
.. which, by the way, supports upload/FTP to 'foreign'/non-MobileMe websites..
perhaps you should try this very Mac-like way as a start..

Why are there issues uploading files?
As of iOS 6 and later the web engine of the iOS has native support for uploading photos and videos from the photo album. Uploading other files is not supported by the web engine. Under iOS 5, the web engine does not have any support for uploads at all.
In order to upload other files than photos and videos from the photo album, iCab Mobile can provide its own file upload capability by replacing the original file select button (which only allows selecting photos and videos) by its own file select button (which allows to select other files as well). This way iCab is able to upload all kinds of files, in addition to photos. But there are limits. iCab's own file select button can not get access to the JavaScript "file" and "FileReader" API, and therefore upload forms which rely on these APIs do not work in iCab Mobile when uploading other files than photos.
In the Settings of iCab Mobile ("Network" settings) you can configure if iCab should use the upload capabilities of the iOS or the one from iCab Mobile.
Using the upload capabilities of the iOS will work on almost all web pages but is limited to photos and videos from the photo album and is only working under iOS 6 and later. Using iCab's own upload capability will allow to upload all file types, even under iOS 5, but it can not work on all web sites.

A friend of mine sent me an email from his Ipad with an attachment which has the extension .note. How can I open this file on my Mac?

It appears that this extension is related to the ipad app 'notability'. It would have to be exported as a pdf or rtf file to be opened.
You can do some googling, but might be better if the sender converts the file to something more common and sends again.
