How can I use an 02 SIM on my iphone 4s which was originally on Orange?

Hi,
I purchased an iPhone  4S approx 2 years ago from Carphone Warehouse on Orange/EE. At the end of the 2 years I decided to leave Orange and use O2. I called up Orange to unlock my phone but they told me as the phone was purchased from Carphone Warehouse they cannot unlock it. I went to Carphone Warehouse and they said they do not unlock phones.
I've looked online and found this link :
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5014
I restored my phone and the my O2 sim does still not work. I get this message now:
"SIM Not Valid
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currerntly assigned by the activation server. This is not a a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information".
So now I am stumped on what to do next - it seems impossible for me to get this phone unlocked. I've spoken to market phone vendors and they are all quoting me £120 - which seems pointless.
If anyone has any advice or suggestion I would greatly appreciate it!
Many thanks,

Jailbreaking is not done to attract malware and possibility and in most cases it is not the case. You are supposedly assuming that jailbreaking is done as jailbreakers "like malware". Your statement is wrong as in essence, jailbreaking your iPhone means freeing it from the limitations imposed on it by your carrier, whether that's AT&T or Verizon, and Apple. It lets you do everything from customizing the look of your iPhone to installing third-party applications (such as titles that are not authorized and available in the App Store) and customized ringtones on it. Depending on how far you're willing to go, you can do even more than that: Jailbreaking even lets you to unlock your phone so you can use it with a carrier other than the one from which you purchased it and in my case you can enable continuity.
The statement was in the spirit of irony. And no, I do not assume users jailbreak because they actually want malware. However, jailbreaking does indeed make the device far more susceptible to such, and it also occurs far more than you seem to think.

I have just bought a new iPhone5 and want to use it with my radio alarm clock (which previously worked as a docking station and recharger for my iPhone3 and more importantly I want to use it with my BOSE speakers which also have a docking station. Call AT&T and see if you meet their requirements for unlocking the phone.  If you don't, then you'll have to purchase a different phone entirely.

You cannot use a UK carrier sim in Chile unless you are a UK customer and have roaming set up with the UK carrier and the Chinease carriers do not offer unlocking so I doubt the iphone is unlocked

My phone has reached the maximum number of free accounts activated where can I buy one to use?

You can't buy another one.  You have to reuse one of the accounts previously set up on your phone, or create a new one to use on another iOS device (running iOS 5 or higher) or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or higher), if you have one.

  • How can i use my pc internet on my iphone 4 (ios7) via usb?

    hallo everyone,
i want get internet from pc on iphone. how can i use my pc internet on my iphone 4 (ios7) via usb? (not iphone internet on pc). help me please

    That is actually pretty easy.
Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Right mouse click on the Bluetooth system tray icon and select "Add new connection"
    Select your phone ..
    Enter a pincode e.g. 0000
Enter the same pincode on the phone side as well.
Click in the "Advanced Modem settings window the "Advanced Modem Settings" button. There should be a string which was auto detected.
Just confirm the windows until the setup is finished. Open the IE confirm select the just configured DUN connection and browse the internet.
You need to enter the Advanced modem string manually if it could not be detected. In this case you have to check your ISP website in order to
find the suitable GPRS or HSDPA string, phone number, username and password for a proper setup. If you enter the wrong data you will encounter
    a connection failed error message.

  • How can I use a bad IMEI AT&T iphone 5 with straight talk ?

Someone sold me a bad IMEI AT&T iphone 5. I had an AT&T iphone 4 with straight talk prior to buying this phone. I didn't know the IMEI was bad so I bought the iphone 5 hoping to switch. I cut my SIM card and put it into the iphone 5. Everything worked perfectly fine so I went ahead and gave the dude the money. I went to sleep and wake up the next day and try to make a call and I get a message saying my phone has been blocked from the network. I contacted straight talk and they thought it was a problem of theirs so somehow they got my phone to work again. Everything was good , calls, texts , and data. 2 hours later, the same problem happens. So I call straight talk again , tell them the problem. They fix It again, 2 hours later , THE SAME PROBLEM. I gave up this time and began looking for answers. Is there any way I can use this iphone 5 with straight talk ? There was a comment I saw through my search for answers where if I get another straight talk sim everything would work again. Is this true? How can I use a bad IMEI AT&T iphone 5 with straight talk ?

If that IMEI has been blacklisted by AT&T, then it is blacklisted by all USA carriers, as well as several participating Canadian and Mexican carriers.
As of 31 October 2012, USA Cellular Providers are sharing a common IMEI/ESN database to ensure that phones blacklisted on one carrier can't be activated on another carrier.  AT&T and T-Mobile are also participating members of the GSM-networks global shared blacklists.

  • How can I use a foreign SIM in a Japanese Apple store bought iPhone 4s?

Recently I bought an iPhone 4S from the Apple Store in Ginza (I have just moved to Japan) and took it with me on holiday to Australia. Not wanting to pay extortionate roaming charges I bought myself an Australian Alstra SIM and put it in my phone. My phone kept saying that the SIM was invalid. We checked that it was fine in other phones and came to the conclusion that for some reason my phone would not take it. The Apple store in Sydney then told me that my phone was locked, I told them that this should not be possible as l had bought the phone from the Apple Store. They said there was nothing they could do.
I am very angry because it looks like I have been sold something that I do not now own. Is it possible to get iPhones in Japan that will support other networks (ie have I been sold a dud) or, if not, can they be unlocked (I'm going to be going to the uk soon and will again want to put a local SIM in)?
Thank you for you time and the support that Apple seems unwilling to provide (I have already asked these questions at the Genius bar and received shrugged shoulders)

Thank you Chris that is very helpful. I paid full price for an Apple Store phone (there was no indication about locking at the time and I didn't ask as I bought it without contract and from the store so just assumed. Although I did wonder why it was that you couldn't buy them online), must be about 3 months ago now. I then later signed up to a data contract with SoftBank.
It would seem (from other sources too) that all Japanese phones in Japan are locked to Japanese networks and that this is currently a requirement to do with managing phone usage. So I can (again apparently) use any Japanese SIM in my phone but no other! I will have to see what I can do about getting the phone unlocked...
Thank you again, I have leaned a valuable lesson about asking more questions at the time of purchase

  • How can I use the money in the iTunes account balance which I have already redeemed from an iTunes gift card without entering any credit card information ?

I just redeemed an iTunes gift card code and then tried to buy a movie. But iTunes keeps asking me to enter the details of a valid credit card. I had been buying apps, music and movies on multiple Apple devices without any credit card information. I just used the iTunes gift cards. But suddenly iTunes just would't allow me to do that any more. I wonder why... How can I keep using the money I have redeemed from iTunes gift cards without entering any credit card information?

Copy your entire iTunes folder to your new computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527).  Then carefully follow the steps in wjosten's post here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/13356770#13356770.

  • Can I use my old SIM card from iPhone 3gs to iPhone 6 ?

I have a iPhone 3gs for over 3 years . I Was wondering if I could reuse my SIM card from 3gs to the iPhone 6 ? Since the iPhone 6 cost $199 I wanted to know if it's possible to use an old SIM card and put it in the new phone

    No.
The SIM cards are different sizes.
Just get a new one from your carrier, if the iphone does not already have one.

  • Can i use my 3gs sim in an iphone 4

hey guys!! i know the i phone 4 uses a micro sim is their anyway to transfer my current 3gs number and price plan to a micro sim or would i need to start all over again?

That would be a question for your Mobile Provider, but Yes you should be able transfer your current SIM to a Micro SIM and keep the same number and contract, I did with O2 in the UK fine, took a few hours once my old SIM lost signal the new Micro SIM was active with my number as normal.
