Many of the higher end Olympus dictation devices use a proprietary DSS or DS2 audio format that only Olympus software can decode. If you can't get a working replacement CD--"can't get it in"? What's the problem?--you could try the downloadable software for the DS-5000 instead. First, get the DSSPlayerV7.01.dmg full installer (the link labeled DSS Player for MAC V6 Upgrade to V7), then the last update (DSS Player for MAC V7.2.8 Update). Worst case, it just won't work with the DS-7000.

I am using an RCA digital voice recorder for school lectures and they will download and play on itunes. It will download to my ipod but it will not play on my ipod. Is it not compatible with the ipod or am I doing something wrong? I have a 60 gig ipod if this helps. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The iPod can only play uncompressed .wav files. It can't play .exe files at all.

Was the iPad originally set up on a different computer, and hasn't been synced to the one that you are now trying to use ? There are some instructions on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
(Before trying that you could copy any important files/documents off the iPad so that you have you own backup copy of them e.g. depending upon what the apps support then email them to yourself, use Dropbox, copy them to your computer via your wifi-network.)
You should be able to copy iTunes purchases off the iPad and over to that computer's iTunes via File > Devices Transfer Purchases, but if you have music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) which aren't in that computer's iTunes (and you haven't got a backup to copy them onto it from) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For recovery mode, that will result in your iPad being put back to factory defaults i.e. all of your content will be removed from it -
No matter how many times I start itunes on my pc I have to agree to the terms of service again and when it does open my settings have all been changed. Why is it doing this and how can I stop it? Reinstalling/repairing does not fix it.

Or it could be an issue with the SC Info folder. See TS1277 - iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization for details.
Or a repair install of iTunes from the Programs and Features control panel might fix the problem.

I have an iTouch and iPad. The iPad holds a lot more stuff. How can I differentially sync both so I don't have as much on the iTouch and I get to choose what goes on it?
When you connect your iTouch to iTunes, open the device by clicking on the iTough button on the left of the screen (do this after you've backed it up). Then when open, you can go into apps, music, photos, etc and check or uncheck whatever you want on your iTough. The same applies to your iPad. After backup, you open the device and check what you want on the iPad.

How do I upload a digital voice recording to iTunes 10?
I have a new Olympus VN8100 digital voice recorder that I used the other day to record a meeting. The instructions tell you how to hook it up to a Mac and how to dismount it, but not what to do in between to upload the recording to a computer.
I did manage to burn the recording to a CD-R, but I can't find an "Import CD" option in the File menu, so I haven't been able to store it on my Mac. When I select "Add to Library...", neither the burned CD-R nor the VN8100 icon shows up in the list of Desktop items.
I can't even figure out how to play back the CD I burned to make sure it burned successfully--iTunes Help doesn't offer anything useful and the tutorials don't cover that.
I assumed I could put a spoken recording on my computer with the iTunes application, but maybe that's changed with iTunes 10? Can anyone walk me through this? Thanks so much for your help!dianefromeliot wrote:

Had it before GB existed; I use other audio software for other tasks, but this one is probably the most easy to use app (of any kind) I've ever used. Click, speak, click, click. Done, with file sitting on my desktop. -

Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:

I think that would be super useful before you go to an event, create a folder on the phone for that event and just use it to take pictures. All the pictures for the event will be in that album and no need to move pics around at a later time!That would be great, but unfortunately, all new pictures automatically go into the Camera Roll.

Is this an iLife installation disk or system install disk? In either case download the demo version of Pacifist and open the install package on the disk. Locate iPhoto and use Pacifist to install iPhoto. Then you'll need to apply the latest updater from the Apple Downloads webpage:
Apple - Support - Downloads. Just search for the iPhoto version you installed to get the updaters for that version.

Because when i get to the part in Boot Camp Assistant that says Start Windows Installation it says u need a disc... is there no other way??Get the physical copy (disk) this will enable you to reinstall when (not if ) it messes up.

Just do a Remove All.
I would first find two consecutive EOL characters and replace with an extra line feed or a visible marker like an ampersand. Then Remove All EOL characters. Then replace all the all the ampersands with a CR/LF. It's pretty quick. A lot quicker than trying to remove 500 EOL characters one at a time.
Or, ask the sender to create the document in a word processor, zip it, then send it to you. -
