Hello everybody,
i have a litte problem. I use the actual version (7u21) of the jre and i develop a javafx-applet. So i know, there is a bug with the combobox-popup, that at the first time, the popup has not resize depended to the content. This bug is resolved, but i think, the fix will release only with java 8. So is it possible to bring the fix in my applet without include a jre 8 in my applet ?

Is there no other option ? If not, thx for your help and i will start to redesign my UI ...

I also have this problem... For all of the people above who are getting snotty - you're being rather single-minded about your particular use of the iPhone. I live in an African country where it's typical to wait 10 minutes for a medium sized PDF file to upload. I purchased an iPhone 4S in large part due to Facetime being the most stable option for video calls with my parents. Here, I **cannot** update my iOS, the available internet simply does not allow for it. My parents, who live in Canada, but in a remote area where they rely on cellular data, also purchased iPhones in order to use Facetime. But Apple does not allow updating the iOS over data!
The Windows example above is a perfect demonstration of just why this is unacceptable -- internet explorer does not simply cease to function one day (without warning), forcing me to update to a different version of Windows or use an alternative. If I start out having it, I will continue to have it.
It is unacceptable to market a product for its features, then require the buyer to take additional steps in order to restore said feature. If I am required to update in order to get cool *new* features, that is totally fair. But it is not unreasonable to expect that a relatively new product should continue working as advertised, and as it has been!
If anyone learns of any other possible solutions, I will be delighted to hear them.

CHeck out iTunes Match which has an annual fee of £21 or thereabouts. You can store a maximum of 25,000 songs there and they all become available on your other kit, iPhone, iPad and iPod. I know it works as I have over 23000 songs uploaded of which only a few we're bought through iTunes.
it works by comparing your music to the whole iTunes music dadata base so you access the same tunes that you could get from iTunes. If you have obscure stuff, it uploads your own music to the cloud as a copy.
I Find it incredible that on my iPhone with its 16gb memory I can view almost 200 gb of music (ie my 23000 songs) and play any of them. Anything I add to iTunes becomes available via the cloud fairly quickly from a few minutes or a little longer if adding a lot.
The first time you use it it will take quite a while to match your music if you have a lot, but after that it is all automatic. Read the stuff on the apple site. Your PC needs to be at least running Vista. I recommend it and at less than 50p a week it's good value.

You have a password, so good move on your part. Whether you erase it or the thief does, they still get to use the iPhone as theirs. Which is more important (pick one), protecting your data or punishing the thief?
Ringing occurs at the carrier. Chances are you're going to voicemail after only two or three rings. If you have an iCloud backup also a good move. Re-read my question in the first paragraph.

It's good to read Antoniad's post. It reassures me that I can use my new iPad as an international communication device which is the reason I purchased the thing. However, I called Verizon today (my provider of cellular data) who told me that I can't just pop in a SIM card as you suggested. He also said that he was from the "Pre-Pay" division of Verizon and he was certain that I couldn't do what I planned to do. I was extremely disappointed as I had called Apple prior to buying the iPad and I read the algorhythm on the website for choosing an iPad before purchasing. Those sources were quite specific and the information seemed clear. I would be able to use my iPad to communicate through cellular connections while traveling on the road, literally, abroad. I was told that I could pop in a data card wherever I was, just as you indicated in your message above, and voila I was good to go. The Verizon rep definitively rained on that parade, but said that I might be able to do this if I have a "Post-Pay" account, a different area of Verizon. I haven't had the chance to talk to this division yet, so I looked to Apple's Support for answers. Maybe I will find out that I can use my iPad as an international communication device while traveling on the road afterall, however, it appears I may need a different type of account (Post-Pay), something I was never warned about. Can I switch to this kind of account? I don't know. I have to find out. Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. If your computer is tied to a network, then there is a way to check. Go to System Preferences, and click Accounts. unlock Admin
then you can click Login Options.
under that, Network Account Server. This should show you what server your computer is tied to. If you aren't in the tech department, you could try asking them.

Call AT&T and see if you meet their requirements for unlocking the phone. If you don't, then you'll have to purchase a different phone entirely.

Create a NEW account/ID using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
