How can I use firefox between windows 7 & windows XP on a network, where we are using Samba server. If a user logs on different workstation(and OS) with same account.

we have a Linux fileserver with Samba share and have several users.
The users tend to be in different locations and need to login at different workstations, sometimes the workstation may be WindowsXP and othertimes it is windows7.
How can we use Firefox & Thunderbird in this situation.
I find that Windows7 uses compressed files to store the location information.
when a user logs on to win7 it creates a new account.

Firefox generally displays the printers in Windows' Printers folder (Start orb > Devices and Printers). If it is missing one of the printers listed there, could you indicate which one it is, for example, Adobe Distiller, PrimoPDF, CutePDF Writer, etc.?
If you previously had an add-on which added print-to-PDF functionality just to Firefox, perhaps it got disabled. You could check here:

I know that you can share music between 5 (?) different devices. Can't remember how that is done right now...

You can also use home sharing so as to share your content between computers or to listen/watch content on your iOS devices : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 (you can also copy music between computers via home sharing)
As long as you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy/download them then you don't have to pay to re-download (or download on different computers/devices) past purchases of apps or ibooks (or music if you are in the USA) as long as they are still available in the store : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
You can also manually copy music/apps/ibooks/films/tv shows between computers and then do File > Add File To Library (or Add Fold) in iTunes so as to add them.

How can I stop firefox opening another window without my veification

An additional window is opened in the background and unless I spot it when I close the version I am using it loses all my tabs. Some I keep for information purposes and are the lost if I do not scan throught the history to find them, which takes considerable time.

If you opened Firefox in Safe Mode then closed Firefox (File > Exit), you can not use the recently used applications link/list the first time you re-start Firefox in regular mode. Instead, use your desktop icon/shortcut one time to open Firefox in regular mode, then the recently used applications link/list will be updated to open Firefox in regular mode.

How can I stop Firefox from telling me "Plugins not up to date"? I have all latest plugins that run under PPC 10.4 and Firefox 3.6.28

Problem: a yellow message saying "Plugins are not up to date" (translated from German) keeps coming up filling the very first line of every webpage. This is ok for every page, but in GMX (my email online account provider) they load advertisings at the bottom of the page (allthough I have the Firefox Add-Blocker installed and activated) and everytime the advertising is loaded new, the yellow message come again. That disturbs me writing an email, because the letters stop appearing on the page and I have to wait.

Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

How can I make Firefox open .eml file with Thunderbird (Windows XP)

I have a webpage that has links to saved .eml files (Thunderbird saves email messages as .eml files). When I click on the link Firefox treats it like a .txt file (displays source). I want Firefox to use Thunderbird as helper application but I have not been able to find a way to do that. Even setting browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force to true doesn't bring up the open dialog box. Nor can I manually add eml to applications list. Help needed!

That happens if the server sends the .eml file as text/plain and not as a generic type like application/octet-stream that would force Firefox to download the file. 
In such a case there is not much to do about it then to contact the site and ask them to change the content type for .EML files.

Did you check the network setting?

Alternatively, create another user account in your computer. Install iTunes in that account with the library you wish to sync.
