How can I use iMessage internationally?

I have been in India for the past three months and will be here for another two. I've kept my phone in Airplane Mode nearly the whole trip and have only turned in on on occasion to send urgent messages back to the US. At the beginning on the trip, iMessage was working fine through wifi and I could be contacted through my phone number. I took a trip one weekend, however, and when I came back and reconnected to wifi again, iMessage would not activate. Since then, I've only been able to send and receive messages through my email address. I've done a ton of web searching and have tried every suggestion out there. I think I've identified the problem thanks to one forum, and that is that under the Phone pane, my number shows as (xxx) xxx-xxxx while under the iMessage and Facetime pane, it shows as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx. The problem is that the number is grayed out on every menu and I cannot change this. I've included some screenshots below to help. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!

Try turning off Dial Assist, and then sign out of Messages and FaceTime and sign in again to see if they will activate.
If that doesn't work, sign back out of Messages and FaceTime, turn Dial Assist back on, then sign Messages and FaceTime back in and see if they willl activate.
Best of luck!

how can you use iMessage between 3 iPads with 3 different users but only one Apple ID?

No you do not need separate Apple ID's in order to use 3 devices with one Apple ID. I use 4 devices to Message and FaceTime and all use the same Apple ID. You do need to add additional email addresses for the other devices.
Look at this very informative video for the instructions.

  • *How can we use the internal table in module pool programming? Clarify plz*

If we creating a screen using the table having four fields(for e.g.). The screen has the functions of display, modify, delete, save, exit etc for the fields. The front-end of the screen having I/O fields of the table using internal table. How can we declare the internal table in the screen?

    HI,
Create one WA for your Internal table and then map it to your fields.
    For Example,
    Data : begin of wa,
              name(10),
              age type i,
               end of wa.
data : it like table of wa with header line.
Then in screen create input fields with the name, age and ***.
Then the user entered values are stored in name age and ***.
then you can manipulate with that values using wa.
    Thanks.

how can i use i message

In Settings > Messages, make sure "iMessage" is switched on, and in "Receive At..." in the same menu, make sure you are signed into your Apple ID.
Now, whenever you text someone who is using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch running iOS 5 or later, or a Mac running Mountain Lion, you will be sending it to them through iMessage. You know it is iMessage when the little bubbles are blue instead of green.

  • How can I use an international credit card when I bought my iPad in china and currently a residence of china?

I want to purchase apps and because I reside in CHina the options for payment are Chinese banks and yet I hold an international credit card. I want to pay for my apps and unfortunately because I am not a Chinese citizen, I don't hold a local credit card but debit cards, does it mean I can't use my international British bank credit card to buy apps in China, as I also bought my IPad in China. The prompts for payment don't give me an option of international banks, but local Chinese. Please help me as I would love to have freedom to use my IPad and be able to purchase apps I want.

  • How can I use iMessage after deregistering my device?

I recently switched to WP8 and I realized I wasn't getting my text messages.  After some research, I found that I need to deregister my device(s).  That's fine and it seems to work.  My question now is, how can I continue to use iMessage with my current AppleID without it somehow screwing up my text messages for my new phone?
For some perspective, I had my iPhone on, but the cellular turned off so that I could still use it for wifi.  My iPad only has wifi.  So I turned off my iPhone and suddenly my texts starting working on my new phone.  That's weird, I thought.  How come I'm getting messages on my iPhone through imessage?  After turning off my iPhone, suddenly my iPad started picking them up.  I then deregistered both devices, but I still wnat to use iMessage.  Make sense?  I hope so

    Yes.
Once your iPhone is set up, on your computer add the phone number using Messages/Preferences/Accounts.

  • How can I use ios internal music player for playing music?

    Hi All,
I know how to play MP3s using Adobe Air, but I have no idea how can I possibly use the INTERNAL MUSIC PLAYER of iOS with Adobe Air? Is tha possible? Is there any native extentions for this purpose or some codes??
Thanks a lot and I appreciate any help in this case please?
    Ali

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Now at least I know where to go from here!
Actually I have no experience with Native extensions so far, even while I've developed some apps for Android and iOS using Adobe Flash CS6, that they happen all to have sound players as well.
The problem is, in my Apps (sample below) I have programmed the ability to let users Play / Pause / Stop (Navigate) the MP3s that will be downloaded from Internet based on their selection. as this player is NOT using the iOS native player, consequently, the main negative results are as follows:
    - App does not catch downloaded mp3 files for offline use or if WIFI disconnected suddenly (unlike iOS player)
    - in Lock screen, Users do not have access to the playback of sound.
    - wireless FM transmitters or other kits used in cars, can not control the playback unlike iOS internal player.
Based on above discussion and your suggestion to use Native extentions, I just found this one:

Do you think this will satisfy my needs?
    Regards,

  • How can I use Imessage from Iphone to mac?

    Hello
I am a new user for the awesome new feature Imessage
And I have a question: how can I send a message to an IPad or IPod or Mac or IPhone from IPhone and Mac?
    Thanks

To send from the iPhone to the mac or Ipad you need an email address to send to, instead of a phone number.
on the iPad or mac you need to setup Messages. I do not have mesages on the mac and do not have an iPad but I have set it up on my iPod Touch and I assume it is similar.
    Settings>Messages>
    > iMessage > ON
    > Send Read Reveipts > ON or OFF your choice
    > Received At > [email protected]
Enter your valid email address in the "Received At" field.
As long as the email is valid it should work, and I assume you will need a different email for the iPad and Mac.

And PLEASE USE ENGLISH. Mistakes we can handle, if it's not your native language; but SMS-speak is very annoying.

  • How can i use the internal table as a WHERE clause ?

    Dear Support ,
I have one internal table that save the material information ...
data : begin of itab ,
              matnr like mara-matnr ,
    end of itab .
And now i want to fetch the material desription text base on this internal table .
As i know that the "FOR ALL ENTRIES" statement is not allowed us to use "IN" this keyword ....
So , Has another solution for this case ? I don't want to use "LOOP AT ...." this way ...
    Many thanks .
    Carlos

    Why can't you do
SELECT MATNR MAKTX INTO TABLE ITAB2 FROM MAKT FOR ALL ENTRIES IN ITAB WHERE MATNR = ITAB-MATNR.

  • HT3529 Can I use imessage internationally? I live overseas but my daughter lives in Canada. Can I imessage her for free?

We both own iphone 4S's. I just don't want to subscribe to an international texting plan for her, if I know that imessage will deliver them for free. Can anyone enlighten me?

Yes, iMessage is free between iOS devices and Macs worldwide.
Be aware, that if for some reason iMessage is unavailable, it will send it as an SMS if you have that option turned on in Settings > Messages

  • How can I use iMessage with non apple customers

I've had an iPhone for years - just got a new ipad 2. I'd like to use it for messaging - I can reach my wife and kids but not coworkers (who use android or other phones). My iPad is WiFi only, so I am not on a cellular service. There are 'free' MMS services on the web that allow chat to cell phone users from a Mac or PC - why not through Apple? Didn't I pay enough?
While I'd rather use the iPad app from Apple to do this - any reccomendations of free (or paid) iPad apps that allow this are welcome.
    - Mike

There are Apps available in the App Store to provide SMS (text messages) on the iPad.
