How can I use isight on MSN

Can someone please tell me how I can see someone on MSN with my isight camera? All my grandchildren have pc's and I would like to see them. I don't want to change my Apple as I love it, but do want to be able to see and talk to them.

However, if your PC using children will consider installing different software at THEIR end to allow you to see your grandkids, there are many other alternatives available. Some of these alternatives are explained in Mac Video Chat with PCs.
Provided that both you and your children meet the requirements listed, either AIM 5.9 (free to the PC user) or Trillian Pro (available for a modest price to the PC user) will connect with your Mac's iChat AV for great quality video with audio.
If you are also willing to install different software on the Mac you love, there are several video chat/conference alternatives that require new software for both the Mac and the PC. You can find links to several cross-platform video chat or video conference apps, including iVisit, SightSpeed, iSpQ, and Marratech, at Some Applications You Can Use With iSight. These alternative apps vary widely in functional capability, price, system requirements, and video quality. Check their web sites carefully to determine which might be of interest.

How can i use isight camera to broadcast to web with Mac OS 10.4?

I am using an iBook G4 running OS 10.4 as a printer server. I have to do this to be able to print on my HP DeskJet 882c printer from computers running OS 10.6 and above (although I have not been able to get it to work with 10.8).
I can connect an iSight camera to the iBook via FireWire. Can I set that up to broadcast a video feed to a web site so I can visually monitor the area near the laptop and printer?

You could use compatible older versions of QuickTime professional extensions for your Mac OS X version.
This professional quality software is very powerful, and it will certainly stream any video you need. However, it is not simple to use, so be prepared to do some research and study to get it configured and working.
To use your iBook with its OS X 10.4, you will need QuickTime Broadcaster 1.5.3
and Darwin Streaming Server (v5.5.5) (if you need streaming server functions.)
Although I have never used it, QuickTime Streaming Server 4.1.1 might be a useable substitute for Darwin.

Ok about to buy an iMac, never used one always had PCs
however all my buddys use MS messenger, I know there is a version of this for Mac now but dont think it supports the iSight camera. Also I dont think the included app iChat allows you to connect to MSM people does it?
SO how can I connect to my MSM buddys and use the iSight camera for video talking? is thee a way?
Does the iSight workk in Win XP via boot camp in MSM on Win XP?

If your talking to PC's you might be better off trying Skype http://www.skype.com/download/skype/macosx/20beta.html and the PC needs Skype as well.

Simple question with a not so simple answer.
(a) If you mean that you want to run multiple apps simultaneously using a different camera with each app, you may encounter computing power limitations. Digital video is processor intensive. The only way to know if your Mac can do this it to try it. If the video does not work together but each app works when it it the only app running, you are likely overloading your Mac's ability to process and/or move all the required data in your data bus. You can get a better indication of whether this is the case by watching your Activity Monitor utility while running the apps you want to use.
(b) If you mean that you want to have more than one compatible camera connected to your Mac simultaneously for ease of changing between video sources, some, but not necessarily all, apps you are using to operate your camera(s) allow you to select between your cameras.
How you select among connected cameras depends on which application you are using. Here is how camera selection works in a few examples:
(1) For iChat, you can choose which iSight you use in the "Camera:" choices bar in iChat > Preferences... > Audio/Video that appears when more than one compatible camera is connected. Although your camera choices will be different, the choices bar will look something similar to the Preferences settings shown here:
If you cannot see the "Camera" choices bar, your Mac is recognizing only one (or none) of your cameras. In that case, consider the suggestions fromhttp://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 for iSight problems or refer to your other camera's documentation for help.
This particular choices bar solution applies ONLY to iChat. Most other applications also have settings that allow you to choose which camera to use. However, they do not all work the same way.
(2) For instance, iMovie HD's camera choice is NOT set via Preferences. When you have more than one compatible camera connected, iMovie6 HD uses a drop-down menu choice something like this (depending on which version of iMovie you use):
Note: Because I had no built-in iSight connected when I made this example, and because my external iSight was not connected, the drop-down menu showed only "Time Lapse." Because your Mac has a built-in iSight, your built-in iSight would show in the drop-down menu even when no other camera is connected. Connecting an additional Mac compatible webcam should allow you to choose either camera.
Other iMovie versions work slightly differently.
iMovie 9 (from iLife '11) uses a different camera choice button shown in this article:

(3) Photo Booth in Snow Leopard 10.6.x and later uses the Photo Booth > Camera menu command to select which camera to use.
Note for readers with older Mac OS X: The previous version of Photo Booth that came with Tiger (10.4.x) is such a simple, basic app that it offers no menu selectable choice. Unless your built-in iSight is already occupied as the camera being used by some open application before you launch Photo Booth, Photo Booth will use ONLY your built-in iSight.
However, you can use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to let Photo Booth use an external camera.
(If you have an external Firewire camera connected, it may be used in preference to any USB webcam. If that is a problem for you, merely disconnect the problem Firewire device.)
(4) For FaceTime, launch the app and click the Video menu item.
If your Mac recognizes more than one connected compatible camera, a "Camera" section listing the cameras from which you can choose will appear there. Clicking on the desired camera name will let you select the one you want as shown in this image from my Mac Pro and LED Cinema Display:
If your Mac recognizes only one compatible camera, the "Camera" section will not appear in the Video menu, but FaceTime will automatically use the connected camera that is recognized by OS X.
(5) I do not use Skype oir Oovoo. For those or other apps, see Help for each app for info on how to select your desired camera.

I wanted my teenager's AppleID to be different from mine so that she couldn't charge stuff to my AppleID, therefore I created me another one. Now when I go to Sync either device, it tells me that this IOS device can only be synced with one AppleID. Then I get a message to erase it, not going to do that, lol. If I logout as one ID and login as the other, will it still retain all synced information on the PC from the first IOS device? If I can just log in out of the AppleID, then I have no problem doing that as long as the synced apps, music, etc stays there for both. I am not trying to copy from one to the other, just want to make sure I have a backup for the UhOh times. If logging in and out on the same PC of multiple AppleIDs is acceptible then I need to be able to authorize the PC for both devices. Thanks for the help. I am new to the iOS world.

I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. If you are just visiting Singapore, then leave the account as it is. If you have moved there, then view your account using the iTunes app on a Mac or PC and change the country/region to your current location and address. If you do not have a bank card, you can fund your account using iTunes gift cards if available in Singapore.

The Pages app is also compatible with MS Word. Unlike some of the others mentioned, the document is actually stored on the iPad as opposed to 'the clouds'. Again, most of those mentioned are cut down versions of MS Word.
Stand back and look at this constructively; do you need to regularly access to the document from more than one computer/device without the need to keep amending your document on your computer and sending it to your iPad? If so, Documente to Go etc may be the best choice.

You shouldn't have to put in a credit card, no, but from time to time the iTunes Store seems for some reason to try to insist on one. If just confirming your mailing address doesn't stop it from complaining, go here:

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.
