How can I use my computer as a Headset device for my phone with Bluetooth?

Hello, Both my laptop and my phone support A2DP but for some reason the service (from the phone) does not show up while I add a new connection and the phone does not let me initiate a connection with any other profile except FTP, even though it detects other services in the service list like A2DP and works perfectly fine with other profiles like DUN, HID, OPP, SSP if the connection is started through the computer. I am currently using the latest version of the Toshiba stack [v8.00.12(T)], I have tried using WIDCOMM but it refuses to install drivers for both the internal Bluetooth and the USB Bluetooth that I use on my desktop. The standard Microsoft stack (generic driver) does install but it does not seem to communicate with my internal and external (USB) Bluetooth. With BlueSoleil (the default stack that came with the USB Bluetooth) I could set my device as "headset" instead of only "laptop/desktop", and this allowed both my phones to detect my laptop as a device they can use as a headset, but the problem with this stack was that only the older phone could actually connect to my laptop and that the internal Bluetooth could not be used. Basically, I want to set the device type as a "headset" for my phone using the Toshiba stack like I did with BlueSoleil. Is there any way this could be done? Thanks. Attached: Device type selection

It's not possible. You can use the iMac as a display for the MBP, but the reverse is not possible. The MBP does not have Target Display Mode as a feature and no third-party app nor hack can enable something that doesn't exist. The only way to accomplish this will be one of the network solutions.

Same custom messagebox code working in Phone_BackKeyPress event i am writing the code in Right Button that e.OriginalSource.ToString(); then it is working fine.
But It is not working in Selection Changed Event in LongListSelector control in Windows Phone 8.

What happens if you leave the implementation for LeftButton empty as well , does the page gets stuck in that case also, if you press left button?

You could sign up for iTunes match and use iCloud photo library with optimisation enabled. The later will keep optimised photos on your device and iTunes match will let you access your whole collection and make room for newer content by removing older unplayed items.

I have 6 iphones and wanted to use Apple Configurator to install the same apps on all 6 phones. Some of the apps though, also require further installation by email. Can I use the same iCloud username and password for all 6 phones to download the apps and also to configure email or do I need to create 6 different Apple IDs?

If different people will be using these phones, you might be better off using the same Apple ID for the iTunes content...apps, music, etc. on each of these devices, but create different ID's for iCloud on each device. You can use one ID for the iTunes/App store, & a different ID for iCloud. That way, messages, notes, contacts, calendars, etc will be kept separate on each device.

I have been using iTunes on a Win7 machine since i had my iPhone4.
Now, since i have some problems in Win7, i'd like to switch to my Mac mini (mac os x Lion) to manage (sync, backup, update) from now on.
If i connect, i am not allowed to backup since this is not the computer "attached" to this iPhone. I do have most of the stuff on both machines (music, apps, and so on...)
How can i change this? Indeed i want to avoid replacing my iPhone content by different things...

you need to move your iTunes Library from your Windows machine to your Mac. Apple has iTunes set up so that you can't simply use multiple computers to back up and download files to your phone. It keeps us honest and doesn't allow you to share music, movies, books etc.
You should be able to copy your library to a flash drive or DVD on your PC, unless it is really huge.
Or you can turn on home sharing on both machines and copy your files from the PC to the Mac.

How can I use Time Capsule as a storage device to play my music from, but get Wifi from a different place?

I have all of my music stored on my Time Capsule, I'm using it as an external hard drive, however, my WiFi comes through my school's campus routers. How can I connect to their WiFi, but still be able to access the files on my Time Capsule?

You can set the TC to join the campus wifi but I do not recommend that method. You make the TC available to everybody in the process.. and it will be super slow. All files to and from your TC, then go via the campus routers and wifi system.
You cannot have two independent wireless connections at the same time..
You can use ethernet to the TC.. this is fastest and best method.. keeps the TC totally isolated from the network.
Or you can use a USB wireless stick in the computer to join a second wireless network.. I recommend using 5ghz as it is much faster.

How can I use international data on a prepaid sim (not vzw roaming) with the Galaxy s3?

This has been incredibly frustrating. I am in the middle of a trip to Europe. Before I left, I confirmed with VZW CSR's that my s3 LTE phone is fully unlocked and that I could buy a local sim and use it while in Austria.
Aside -- I can't use VZW global services on their network -- cost notwithstanding -- because I hit some device limit when I bought my wife an iPad, and VZW required a deposit for it. No big deal, EXCEPT that here three months later I learn that VZW accounting prohibits global roaming if you account has a deposit. So fine, VZW doesn't want me to pay them a dollar a minute and $20/100MB. No problem, I can get a drei (3) prepaid card for 10 euros that has 1000 minutes and 2 GB of data.
So, I do. I activate the card, and voice and sms work fine. No data. No joy.
Step 1. I call samsung. Samsung, after about an hour of claiming it should work, decides that it is because VZW has some sort of software block. Not surprising, since the software is actually from VZW.
Step 2. Call VZW. After a great deal of **** VZW says you have to go back to the drei store.
Step 3. Return to drei. Store rep discovers VZW software will not recognize their access point name (APN), and will not let you enter it. They verify on a different s3 that the sim is fine. With my VZW sim, I can see the VZW APN's, but because I don't have global services turned on, no joy.
Step 4. Do some web digging. Discover that this APN thing is a known bug. Web sites (like the CSR in the transcript) suggest rooting or jailbreaking is the only workaround -- which I don't want to do. But here I sit in Austria, with no data on a top of the line VZW phone and an account with seven different lines.
So, how do I resolve this? Take the phone back, because there is clearly a defect? But if it's software, I'll have to get an escalation to get a different phone. Is there a fix? Sue for false advertising? Better yet, start a class action -- there sure seem to be a lot of us in this boat based on web searches.

OK, I have to throw VZW some props here. I went to the store where I bought my phones, and explained the problem I was having with international travel and the s3. The store put me into an iphone5 for free as a warranty exchange -- apparently they know the APN issue is a serious one and they said there was a big lawsuit about it. It cost me a bit for power adapters and such, and a few paid apps, but the iphone has (reportedly) no issues with international travel and local sims.
Way to go, VZW. Mark this one up for responsive customer service.

Unless the MBP has Thunderbolt you can't use the iMac as an external monitor unless you get ScreenRecycler. If the MBP does have Thunderbolt you need a Thunderbolt cable. Because Thunderbolt is so new finding a cable could be quite a challenge, you may want to contact Lacie and see if they can sell you one other than that I have no idea where to find one now.

When I click the 'scan all models' search in the 'Control Surfaces Set Up' there is no Yamaha DX7 in the list so how can I make Logic 'see' the DX7?

As Colin pointed out, you have to look first in the Audio MIDI Setup. If your MIDI Device doesn't show up there, then Logic cannot see it either (unless you are using Logic Remote on your iPad to play over Wi-Fi).
I'm curious about the "MIDI/USB cable you mention. If the DX7 has a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI out jack, then you have to connect that to a MIDI Interface first that converts the MIDI signal to send it over the USB jack out. Please note that you would see the MIDI Interface in the Audio MIDI Setup app and not the DX7 itself. Also, in Logic you would see the MIDI Interface in the Environment as a valid MIDI input device.
