Session Tracking is one of the most powerful features of Servlets and JSP. Basically, the servlet engine takes care of using Cookies in the right way to preserve state across successive requests by the same user. Your servlet just needs to call a single method (getSession) and it has access to a persistent hashtable of data that's unique to the current user.

If your Javabean contains business logic, then you probably shouldn't be using an HTTP concept such as session. The JSP/servlet should extract whatever info is required and pass it to the bean.
If your bean is an HTTP/HTML helper and you need to reference session, then the only way is for the JSP/servlet to pass the session reference on a method call to the bean.

i am using a jsp,in which i am collecting a string variable and using that variable in sql query to get one row displayed,(there are 2 pages one to pass some variable and another to collect it),now if i pass a variable again and query it to get the result ,though i am getting the result properly but it is overwriting the preveous row in my jsp ,what i want is for each session what ever variable i pass i want to print that many rows ,looking forward to your reply

1) Are you using Struts?
I suggest you to do so.. Its very simple and easy to maintain. I would do this in Struts, Make the bean in session scope. Have a list with getter and setter method and in the action class I would keep adding to the list. By doing this, I ensure better maintainability of the application.
2) If you are not using struts. Then keep a List in session. And keep adding to the list.

how can i use iphoto pics on another mac A across the home network for the screen saver on Mac B?
within iPhoto i can see the mac A's shared library AOK on Mac B but Mac A's library doesn't show up in the screen saver list on Mac B ;-(

That's exactly what I tried to do, but the iPhoto librry doesn't show up in the pulldown menu. If I click "Choose Folder", the iPhoto library is greyed out and unable to be selected.
For some reason, iPhoto is an option in the pulldown library on my older iMac but not on my MacBook Pro. What gives?

How can I use the same session for different components acroos application ?

I am trying to include the components(chat, filesharing, whitboard) in different parts of my application. User should be able to access any of the component. We would like to have a single "ConnectSessionContainer" so that we don't see same user creating a seperate session for each component.
Is there a better way of dealing with this other than declaring the "ConnectSessionContainer" in the main application ? Is there a way to check if we have a "ConnectSessionContainer" session already established ? Please help . Thanks.

I am trying to create components at different places(screens) of the flex application (not in the same .mxml file).
Each time I create a component, I am using a "AdobeHSAuthenticator" and "ConnectSessionContainer" which is resulting a new participant in the room.
For example

Here, I open a screen1 and authenticate as UserA and when I try to open screen2 flex is considering me as another user though I am in the same application.
1) How can I use different components which are in different flex files as a same User ?
2) Should I place my <rtc:AdobeHSAuthenticator> and <rtc:ConnectSessionContainer> in the main application which calls the screen.mxml?
3) What is the best way to do it ?

How can I use two database in Dataset in SSRS?

Hi,
I am using one query to generate my SSRS report. In that query I am using subquery. Now I am pulling data from multiple tales.
DB used in sub query is different than the rest of the tables DB.(So total I am using 2 DB(Database))
So I see that in SSRS, I can connect query(In DataSet Properties) to one DATA_SOURCE only, how can I use other database which is I used in sub-query?
I have to move this SSRS into PROD and I can't hard code that sub-query's DB name in my query.
Please give me suggestion. Thanks!!

In SSRS 2008 R2 you can use the Lookup function (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210531.aspx ) and LookupSet function (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee240819.aspx
Depending on your security set up, you can reference a table in a second database on the same server using a three part name: database.schema.table. This is more likely to work for you if you wrap your SQL command in a stored procedure.

Microsoft Access isn't available for OS X, so you can't use it. If you need it, you have to install Windows on a virtual machine.
On a virtual machine, you can install the Windows version you most like and the Access version you need, so you won't have any problem using it. You just need a full Windows version with its DVD or ISO image and product key, and an application like Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox to create the virtual machine. If you want to save money, System Builder versions are cheaper and you can find them at Amazon or NewEgg.
As you have a Mac Pro, I suppose you won't have any problem using a 64-bit version, but it's important you have enough memory. Open  > About this Mac, and check how much memory you have. I recommend 4 or 8 GB of memory at least.
After installing Windows on the virtual machine, you will be able to install Access there.
There are applications for OS X that allow you to run Windows applications without having to install Windows. Those apps often fail, so I don't recommend you to use them

How can I use After Effects filters on a whole sequence without getting stuck in After Effects?

It appears that, with the options that are visible to the user, Dynamic Link only goes one-way and can't make round trips from Premiere Pro to After Effects and back again. If I send a sequence to After Effects, that part works fine and I can do what I want and save the comp. However, even though the comp appears as an asset in Premiere Pro, I am not allowed to do anything with it. If I try to drag it to a new sequence, it just says no. If I click "Create Sequence from Clip" it creates an empty sequence.
So how can I use After Effects on whole sequences/tracks instead of just on a clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip basis? is this possible? For instance, if I have a whole sequence where I've neutralized the white balance, I might want to apply a warming filter to the whole thing as a unit. That would be really painful with even a few clips to keep doing that again and again, and if you want to modify it slightly you have to do it over and over. If there is a way to do that through Dynamic Link through some hidden option, what happens with the audio? Would I have to cut it out of the lower sequence and paste it into the higher sequence with the After Effects comp as a video track?

I'm not an Adoby guy, hence you may ignore my reply, but Adobe Dynamic Link is obviously not just one way ticket and in most cases works just fine.
You have already been explained by J-MS and tclark513 how to properly use it and which pitfalls may occur.
So as to apply an effect onto a whole sequence or a group of clips you need to either nest them in PrPro or pre-compose them in AE. Then just apply an effect (or several ones) onto that composition.
So, if you nest clips in PrPro, select your nested sequence in the timeline, right-click and choose 'Replace with After Effects Composition'. Done! Your dynamically linked AE composition is in the right place in your timeline and in your Project panel as well. If you can not treat it as an ordinary footage, there are obviously some mistakes in your workflow.
If you didn't nest your sequence or a group of clips in PrPro before replacing them with AE composition, you may easily do it within AE. Just select all the layers in AE composition and choose Layer -> Pre-compose... (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C) Done! Switch back to your Master comp and apply your desired effect(s)
You may loose some effects or/and transitions while travelling from PrPro to AE via Adobe Dynamic Link, whereas you don't while travelling back
(If you start building your AE composition from scratch right in AE and then need to import it into PrPro, DO NOT export one as PrPro project out of AE, but rather choose Adobe Dynamic Link -> Import After Effects Composition... within PrPro)
P.S. And yes, submit a feature-request so that Adobe will convert 'Transparent Video' into fully functional 'Adjustment Layer'.

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

access tag, it provide convenient function to access database from jsp page,but i wonder how can i use such a tag within MVC architecture.
as we know,in MVC architecture,all requests from the jsp pages are submit to the controller servlet,then the controller manipulate ejb to access database,it don't allow the database access from the jsp page.
who can tell me how can i combine the tag library with mvc architecture appropriately?

You can't! If you decide to limit the JSP to be part of the View component, obviously you should not include tags that directly access the database. If the strict MVC architecture is less important to you, then the tags can save coding time. It's your choice.

I have done an application to get the screen image and do upload file to server in a servlet with the http protocal.

Since the desktop image is on the client's local hard drive, you'll need to look at trusted applets first.
