How can I verify my iCloud account if I can not access the primary email account associated with my Apple ID?
The email address I had set for my Apple ID when I had originally signed up was through my college. I have been out of college now for a few years and the email account has been deleted. I was trying to set up iCloud on my iPad and iPhone but it says I need to access the account to verify through email. I have tried to change my Apple ID email to my current email address but it tells me I can not do this either because that email is set up as my rescue email. How can I change my primary email address for my Apple ID or get my iCloud verified in this situation I'm in?
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your account'. You will be able to change the non-Apple email address you use as a login. You will then need to log out and in again on all your devices.

My husband deleted the Outlook email account that was associated with my Apple ID as the primary email. I have two alternate emails also associated with the same Apple ID. How can I delete the old, Outlook email and use one of the alternates as a primary? This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again. -
I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Can I change my verified primary email address that is currently associated with my apple id? I don't want to change my apple id because I have music and apps assoicated with it. I tired following some of the posts that shows going to an apple dialog that allows you to update your apple id and primary email separately, but when I try doing it I get a dialog that says I can update my apple id and my primary email. I don't want to change my apple id only my primary email. Anyone have any suggestions? That email is going away soon. Thanks for any help.

Can't use Find My Friends on iPhone due to Apple ID not being verified.
Can't do this as I can't access my .mac email any longer and I can not change the primary e-mail address for my Apple ID!
So my options are:
Create a new Apple ID, use that and lose all the apps I've purhcased with it (a fairly substantial amount)
Somehow Migrate these purchases over to a new Apple ID
Apple let me change the primary ID for the account
Anyone else ran into this before?
I've tried accessing the mail through a mail application using the correct server information, and trying both the old 6 character password and the one I had to change it too after they updated the security guidelines - neither work.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I can see more services down the line not working without the address being verified!To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should not need to verify the old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). How can I change the name of devices associated with my Apple ID in iTunes?
We have 3 iPads and 4 iPhones in our family. All of the iPads show up on the list of devices associated with my Apple ID as simply "iPad". All of the iPhones show up simply as "iPhone", even though each device has a distinct name on the device itself (ie. Mark's iPhone). How can I get the distinct name to show up on the list of devices so I can keep the list updated as we add or remove devices from our collection?
Not it it's an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address. In that case your choices are to either create an email alias within the existing account, which delivers email to your existing iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a), or create a new iCoud account. Note: alias addresses are permanently tied to the account that you create them in; they cannot be used to create a new iCloud account or be moved to a different account in the future.

I am trying to add another e-mail address to FaceTime, but do not want to change the e-mail address associated with my Apple ID. Everytime I try to add the e-mail address in my FaceTime settings, it send me a verification e-mail asking me to verify that I want to change to this new e-mail address for my apple ID. I do not. I just want to have an additional e-mail address for people to contact me via FaceTime. Does anyone know how to do this?
You can have multiple addresses associated with your apple id. You will have to verify any changes before they can be added and this is done by sending you an email. This is to protect you from someone else makeing changes to your account.

Help. My old @us.army.mil email address was terminated by the army. I used that address to register my first apple id account on my iPad. I can't remember my original Apple ID number and if I ask to reset my password, Apple sends the reset link to my old non-working email address. I have a new gmail address and a new Apple ID number associated with that address. How do I get my iPad to use my new gmail address and new apple ID number? Remember, I can't log out of my old account because I can't remember the password. Amd Apple will only reset the password by sending a link to my old, non functioning army email account. ( I hate army webmail for canceling all retired military email accounts). John Marc

Right, if the Apple ID is already set up, then you cannot change it to None until you put a credit card on the account.
If you set up a brand new Apple ID by first downloading a Free app, and then setting up the ID as a part of that process, then it can be None.

I can't seem to sync my calendar on my iphone to iCal because the default email address associated with my calendar on my iphone was to an old work email address that I no longer have. When I go to ICal it asks for the username and password which I no longer have. The calendar is still on my phone (even though the email account is on my phone but doesn't work) Is there a way to copy my calendar to a different email address on my iphone? I have now set the default email account for the calendar to a current email address but I still can't figure out how to merge my iphone calendars, copy the iphone calendar to iCal, or save my iphone calendar to my mac. Also, I read in ITunes to check "sync to ICal" but my ITunes under my iphone and info just says "Sync Calendars" which doesn't transfer it to iCal when I sync my phone.
