How can I view thumbnails with Acrobat?
I don't know if newer versions have this feature or not. I have Acrobat 9. When I search for my files inside the folder, either in Acrobat or Microsoft Explorer, I can see the icons in my folder, I can make them larger or smaller, but .....they're still just Acrobat icons. In one folder alone, I have 100 business cards I scanned. To find the right card, I'd have to click on each and ever one to find the right person.
Isn't there some way that I could click on a document, and it show me a thumbnail of it before I open it?
That sort of preview feature comes from the OS.

I would like to open pdfs directly with the Acrobat reader app, without downloading it (& saving it in the downloads folder). When I open a pdf, FF offers me several apps or a download, but not the Acrobat Reader, also Acrobat it mentioned as the standard application for opening pdfs.
The file must be downloaded for Adobe reader to be able to display the file. There is no way to display any file without downloading it.

I am using an Macbook pro in conjunction with a Time Capsule. I back up all my aperture librarys on it, but how can i view these images that are stored on the capsule please ??
If you want to see what is in a file that is backed up by time machine then you have to restore the entire file. Having said that I have had good experience with Time Machine and individual files... if the file is there then all of it's components are almost for sure there. A way to get around this in Aperture would be to use referenced images. The images then still exist as individual files and can be backed up and restored individually. You would have to do so on a file by file basis though and your album information would still only be saved within the Aperture library.

I have purchased Adobe Acrobat and my order number is 281998924. My previous Sony computer which used to Windows 7 crashed. I purchased a new Toshiba computer with Windows 8. On startup my macbookair says start up disk full/delete some files. When I look at storage disk utility I see 51GB of a possible 60GB is used with Other. What is Other? and how can I view and delete some of these files?
A MacBook will use Time Machine to make local backups so that when connected to an external drive it will backup a lot faster.
to disable this, you must use a command under terminal.
to locate terminal, do a search for it under spotlight (the magnifying glass on the top right corner), should be the first hit.
once under terminal, type the following text exactly:
sudo tmutil disablelocal
hit enter.
you will be asked to input your password, if you do not have a password, you will have to create one before performing this command. after entering your password, hit enter again and close terminal.
in a few minutes the space taken up by time machine should be cleared. -

You should see a list of options. Check the box next to "notes"
That will let you see the notes on a dual screen setup.

If you are lokking for loopholes or workarounds - they don't exist. Your only option is to buy a new license of Acrobat XI. Of course, depending on what functionality you need, there are enough alternative, cheaper tools to create and edit PDFs or even free tools. Most of them won't deal with forms or otehr advanced features, though, but as long as you only want to convert your Word files to PDFs, the'll do the trick and you don't need Acrobat.

Over the years I have backed up my ifoto albums on discs. Now with the new ifoto I cannot see any fotos when I insert the 'old' discs, just dotted lines around where the foto should be. How can I view the fotos? They were backed up for security, but now they are so secure I can't view them! Help!
If you're running iPhoto 9.5 you'll need to follow these directions in order to view disk created by previous versions of iPhoto:
1 - Copy the library from the disk to the Desktop.
2 - Double click on the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool to launch it and select the library on the desktop to convert.
3 - Once that is done you can open it with iPhoto 9.5.

Do you mean pictures stored on the TC?
The ipad has no ability to access files.. so you need a file app.. there are plenty of them available.. filebrowser is one. What application you use to view files will depend on the format of the files.. google for that.
The TC has no media server ability whatsoever.. it is a dumb as a board hard disk in a router. And should be treated as such.. especially to remember they die.. rather badly and suddenly.. and are difficult to backup should they do so.. it is design as a backup target for TM.. but TM cannot backup a TC or any other network drive. -

For viewing PDF I use PDF Pen. It's awesome though some consider the app pricey. PDF expert is another one.
Sometimes it depends on the book you are viewing. If its a PDF it will not show 2 pages that I am aware of.
