How Can I Word-wrap a Value?

How can I force a selection in a drop-down menu to word-wrap in the value portion of an object? I can achieve my desired result in the caption portion by increasing the height of the object. However, when I increase the size of the object, the value portion does not wrap.

Are you sure that a drop down menu is the best option for what you're doing? Maybe another Object type would suit your purposes better--like radio buttons.
Anyway, You can edit the XML source and add a CDATA tag around the items in your list. So, if you have a drop down list with {Something really long goes here, Something else really long here, And another really long thing} as your options, click on the XML Source tab.

Now, this will break the line as you're wanting to do, but it's going to cause a different problem--The list of items was originally selected by the first, second, and third lines in the dropdown list. They still are. So, you have 6 different lines, and only the first three can select something. If you're just wanting to have a dropdown that the user selects to read a list and not to select something, then this is probably ok. If you want the user to select an item, then this is a terrible idea.
If your lines are just a little bit too long to fit, you can set the value's font to "0" Then it will shrink and expand the font size to fit the largest selection. Two notes, the dropdown arrow will cover the last bit of the line, and there is a limit to how small it can get.

Well I am going to give it a shot, because I believe I am looking for the same thing.
I have a value that is of type varchar2. How can I determine if it has special characters or alpha characters in it? In other words, I only want the value to consist of numbers. (Initially it had been thought that Letters would be used as well, but now they just want numbers and the datatype of the column cannot be altered since there is data in it.)
I have gotten this far, but I do not know what else I can use besides '[:alpha:]'? I cannot seem to find this documented anywhere...I can find the regexp package reference, but not the character classes...

How can I get the edited value from the editor in JTable

I have a JTextField added as an editor to a cell in JTable.
I value gets changed when I press enter.
but in actionPerformed of the JTextField when I say
String txtEditorValue = txtEditor.getText();
I am getting the old value. How can I get the edited value? Thanks.

I guess, your understanding of how JTable works together with its models is not good enough - for example the method getTableCellEditorComponent(...) of the TableCellEditor interface is used to get the component, that should be used as editing component - its second parameter is a value that should be used to setup the editing component - it is normally not the editing component itself.
JTable uses an underlying TableModel to store the cell values - if you have edited a cell, JTable gets the value of the editing component by itself and stores it in the TableModel using its setValueAt(...) method. To retrieve this data you only need to query the TableModel using row and column of this cell as parameters
say jt is your JTable, and row and column are the row and column of the cell - so to get the value, simply use
Object obj = jt.getModel().getValueAt(row,column);
if you know, that there is a String in this cell use
String str = (String) jt.getModel().getValueAt(row,column);
The editor component is used for the view of the JTable - you only want the data, which is stored in the model - you don't have to deal with the GUI components in this case.

Believe it or not, the same FM worked for me in a dynpro. I will try to explain here how it works in custom screen and then you can do your work for other screens or program types. I am not going to write my actual work but will explain in general.
I have 4 fields (FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4) and i made the search based on FLD2 and when user click on a line (could be any field), then this would bring the line on to the screens.
There are like 3 steps.
You have your value_tab for my fields FLD1, FLD2, FLD3 and FLD4. This is just the data that we pass into the FM. (data: IT_VALTAB type table of ZVAL_TABLE)
Next map the screen fields into an internal table (data: It_dynpfld type table of dselc ). I also have other internal tables defined (just to keep it straight, i will be putting here) data: It_return type standard table of ddshretval.
Next step is to call the function module. Make sure you have values in IT_VALTAB.

I have to pass the 4 different values to the sql file and each time i pass the value it has to generate the txt file for that value like wise it has to generate the 4 files at each run.

Can you please more elaberate., perhaps you should more elaberate.
sqlplus is a program. you start it from the korn shell. when it's finished, processing control returns to the korn shell. the korn shell and sqlplus do not communicate back and forth.
so "spool the output from .sql file to some txt file from k shell, while passing the input parameters to the sql file from korn shell" makes no sense.

javascript runs on client side and you cannot assign the value to a Page attribute directly.
As a workaround,you can use an Inputfield,hidden if required,and set the value using javascript.Then the form will have to be submit to be able to read the value in onInputProcessing and then can be assigned to any variable.

How can I get the default value of a particular preference in FireFox?.
I know I can see the default value for some of the preferences in about:config but, I need a programatic way to get the default value.
I see some that there are values for preferences in firefox.cs but I am not certain that these are being used as the default values for preferences. prefs.js in user's profile only has the updated values and not the default values.
Any help towards acheiving this programtically is greatly appreciated.

You can do a couple of things - one would be to pass the information using the data linking expert. Right click on the subreport, choose 'Change Subreport Links' and select the field(s) you are wanting to pass to the subreport. CRW will build parameters and a record selection formula for you in the subreport, and if that's what you want, then great. But you can also remove the selection formula from the subreport and work with the parameter fields in the subreport however you would like.Alternatively, you can look to passing Shared variables back and forth from the main and subreport. this link talks about the method to do this: http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/251

I am thinking of temple run here, I am trying to caculate the total distance(set in the timer variable) from the previous try.

I have a requirement to add a blank value into the standard drop down list of for i.e. the search criteria
"created on" -> (values are: yesterday/today/last week etc).
The problem is, that this field has always the default value "yesterday" but our customer wants to have a blank field as default.
Can anybody provide me steps how can I add this blank value ?
