How can illustrator cs5 export a file with layers intact?

When I try to export my cs5 file to a psd file to preserve the layers, I get the
warning: "not enough memory" which blocks it. The original file is only 17 megs
in size which is not real high. Help please

You have choose a lower dpi, or remove any stray elements outside your artwork that make your bitmapped canvas size larger.
You have to also export to CMYK .psd for layers, as RGB Export does not allow layers to be written.
If you need more DPI than, you can chop your file in half, and reassemble in Photoshop.

  • How can I open a psd file with layers in touch?

    I want to edit a psd file with layers in photoshop touch. Is this possible?

    No. (Kind of, sort of.) You can export PS Touch projects for import into desktop Photoshop and have the layers intact for further editing but you cannot do the reverse; any imported PSD will be automatically flattened. (I'm guessing this was done to prevent crashing. PS Touch supports 12 layers max vs. the potential thousands available in desktop Photoshop.)

    I have a question again.
    How can I automatically create the file with a serie-filename?
    e.g. I have a program, it will repeat 5 times, and every time it will create a bmp-file, and I want to let this program automatically save these 5 files with a Serie-filename like File001.bmp, File002.bmp, .... File005.bmp.
    How can I do it?`
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Deepu,
    one more comment
    The format code should be "%04d" to get leading zeros and have filenames with same length...

  • How can (parse) i use XML file with missing EndTag

    hi,
    i have an application which writes an "XML file".
    another application should read that XML file, build an DOM and
    access the nodes with xpath.
    my problem. if the first application is not finished there are tags
    missing. e.g. </xml>. but the seconds application cannot wait until the first application finishes it task.
    if i now read the XML file the parser cannot load it because the end tags are missing.
    my question:
    how can i deactivate the check or how can i read the XML file and access it via XPath (my application is using at the moment XPath to access the nodes and i dont want to change that)
    as parser i am using XERCES
    alex

    As far as I know, you can't do this - xml must be well formed (this is sort of a bedrock of xml). There may be some work around's, but I'm not aware of any - and they would most likely be hacks.

    2.write all the required tag and value using UTL.put_line
    that is enough. Is not, please guide me to write.

    One more doubt. In the speck, some constand values are there, When i write the same into file, How can i write ?.
    1. l_str := ' "E27" '

  • How Can I produce a Pro_Res files with 5.1 (6 channels of audio)

    I need to screen a feature film in a digital Theater and I want to make sure the Dolby Digital Mix is heard the way the film was mixed and not the way FCP does a 2 channel mix down.
    I have the timeline setup with the 6 channels but when I go to export the file to deliver one QT to the exhibitor, it won't let me export the 5.1 mix.
    I've read several post, Exported the file with Compressor but when I check the channels my audio was not exported the right way.
    Any ideas?

    there is this tutorial online @ Creative Cow from Shane Ross:
    http://library.creativecow.net/articles/ross_shane/multi-audio/video-tutorial
    Are they screening from the QT or from tape?

  • How can I REPLACE original RAW files with JPG's and keep my 'Develop mode' edits?

    An image describing my problem:
    http://i.imgur.com/hcqMYkv.jpg
    (Lightroom 5)
    'edits' = Edits made in develop mode.
    'CR2' = My RAW image file format.
    I have existing CR2's with edits for them saved in Lightroom.
    I want to replace the CR2's with JPG's, and do nothing else. I want those JPG's to inherit the CR2's edits, but I DO NOT want the edits to be permanently applied to the image.
    If I export the CR2's (which have edits) to JPG's, the edits will be permanently applied to them. I do not want this.
    If I export the CR2's to JPG's without the edits, I have no way of getting the edits back and will have to redo the work if I use that photo again.
    Any solutions? I've been trying for a while and have no idea how to do this.
    Q: Why not keep the CR2's?
    A: I am uploading these files to an online host (S3) as my primary storage method and uploading CR2's takes way too long with my internet speeds. Furthermore, online storage costs money.
    Q: Why not shoot with JPGs instead of shooting raw?
    A: I do my initial edits with the raw files and then archive them as JPG's to save storage space. They won't be raw anymore if I apply future edits, but I still have the option of retouching them from the 'original' state and still have my old edits preserved.

    Probably the best thing for you to do is simply use lossy DNG format (e.g. export as, or convert to..): raw data is re-formatted with jpeg compression (full-rez or reduced-rez), but all raw settings apply.
    If you insist on trying to have a true jpeg file with (mostly) raw settings, then:
    The simplest way I can think of to do it without a script or plugin:
    * Reset the raw photo (consider preserving things that don't translate well, like profile-based lens corrections and white balance).
    * Export jpeg
    * Un-reset the image (e.g. using edit history or pre-reset snapshot).
    * Sync settings from raw to jpeg (note: omit settings that don't transfer well, or that were not reset..).
    * Optionally: Delete raw
    To automate/streamline would require a script or plugin.

  • Please, I need help - How can I generate a text file with Word format?

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
    is it possible for me to create a text file - that is, with TEXT_IO.fopen, and so on - that's already formatted as a Word document?
    We have a Forms program here, where it's needed to generate a text file with .RTF format, 8 centimeters margin, Times New Roman font, with size 7.
    Best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

    Hello Shay,
    sincere thanks for your answer. And, to answer your last question, I'm using client-server model.
    Since I couldn't create this .RTF file by using built-ins like TEXT_IO, I tried to generate an .RTF file using Reports, passing the parameters DESTYPE, DESNAME and DESFORMAT, as shown below.
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESTYPE', text_parameter, 'FILE');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESNAME', text_parameter, 'c:\franklin.rtf');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESFORMAT', text_parameter, 'RTF');
    However, the just generated .RTF file is uncomprehensible. After opening the file at Microsoft Word, I can see the following message at the top of file:
    This file was created by Oracle Reports. Please view this document in Page Layout mode.
    ... and informations doesn't appear as desired.
    If I can't generate such text format by using TEXT_IO, and if generating an .RTF file through Reports shows me an incomprehensible result, how can I export the selected result to an .RTF file?
    When Reports is opened, choosing Generate to file -> RTF doesn't export anything.
    Thanks, and best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

  • How to export "gif" animation frames as individual .psd files with layers intact?

    Hi, after creating an extended 25 frame animation (as if building a .gif) I would like to export each frame to individual .psd files with all the layers showing in each respective frame intact as separate editable layers (rather than each frame as a flattened one layer image/psd)...how can this be done? thanks

    maybe it would be easiest if there were just a script which would delete all the layers not visible in a frame but leave the visible layers unflattened, then the file could be saved with a new_name_001 etc., then the deletions could be undone manually via option+command z, the animation advanced by a frame...repeat
    is there a script which deletes all but the visible layers in a frame -- but leaves those which are visible unflattened/editable?
    thanks

  • How can I programatically identify PDF files with embedded images?

    Our company has 27,266,949 .PDF files that we're planning to compress in order to save server space.
    We don't want to compress any of the .PDF files that have embedded images as to not alter the image's state.
    How can we programatically create a list to exclude from the compression process?

    Ah, see told you we were new to this and no, my taxs already have enough digits to the balance.
    Ok, so based on that, we should be able to use the preflighting tool to identify the PDF’s with images, factor them out, and then continue with lossless compression on the remaining balance.
    That will give us the compression we need to save space, but also allow us to stand in the court of law (if the scenario was to ever occur) and proclaim that none of our medical images have ever been altered by compression.
    Sound like a reasonable plan?

  • How can we load a flat file with very, very long lines into a table?

    Hello:
    We have to load a flat file with OWB. The problem is that each of the lines in the file might be up to 30.000 characters long (up to 1.000 units of information in each line, 30 characters long each)
    Of course, our mapping should insert these units of information as independent rows in a table (1.000 rows, in our example).
    We do not know how to go about it. We usually load flat files using table functions, but we am not sure that they will be able to cope with these huge lines. And how should we pivot those lines? Will the Pivot operator do the trick? Or maybe we should pivot those lines outside the database before loading them?
    We are a bit lost. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Yes, well, we could define a 1.000 column external table, and then map those 1.000 columns to the Pivot operator… perhaps it would work. But we have been investigating a little bit, and we think that we have found a better solution: there is a unix utility called “fold”. This utility can split our 30.000 character lines in 1.000 lines, 30 characters long each: just what we needed. Then we can load the resulting file using an external table.
    We think this is a much better solution that handling 1.000 columns in the external table and in the Pivot operator.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How can I generate a map file with LabVIEW?

    We wish to use a product which inserts code into our executable to prevent tampering with it by crackers.  The program, however, takes the executable file, as well as the map file (which is commonly generated by c++ compilers) and uses the map file to determine where in the exe the critical routines that need protection are at.  I can not, however, determine how to create such a map file for a LabVIEW generated executable.  Is there a special build option I need to invoke?

    Yes, I'm familar with NI's licensing technology, having talked with someone (you, Dennis, I believe) about it before.  The problem we have is our software is sold to factories in China where there are no internet connections.  We have a physical key 'dongle' which must be present in order for the executable to be willing to run.  However, it appears that people are taking the executable  which LabVIEW creates and they are editing it, probably by using a a debugger and tracing to the the code which checks for the dongles presence and bypassing it.  To my knoweledge, NI's products don't do anything to prevent this, right?
    We found a company which sells a product that encryptes, checksums, etc... an executable file, but it needs to know the layout of functions in the exe in order to determine which areas to focus the obfuscation on.  They were sort of matter of fact when they said it needs the exe and the map file, as if they expected any language which produced an exe could produce a map file.

  • How can I create a zip file with LabVIEW?

    I would like to compress my data (ASCII format) to an archive.
    I use LVZlib.vi to compress and decompress data but I would like to be able to read the output file with a software archiver such as PowerArchiver/WinZIP.
    Someone knows how I can create a file compatible with zip or gz standard format, thanks !

    >> Yes but I have to install a special archiver (with ms-dos ommand line ability
    >> such as pkzip,arc,rar,arj...) on the computer where I install my LV application.
    Search for "gnu tools for windows" and get zip.exe, gzip.exe, bzip2.exe and others (even the source, if you like). These are about 50kB files that run in place (no installation) - easy to include in a distributed app. Oh, since I'm logged in I'll attach a couple, though I don't have the source on this machine).
