I have several 128 GB SSD's that I want to use to copy/backup all my iPhoto photographs for a permanent archive due to stability...but my iPhoto library is larger than the drives (about 234 GB) so it would require two of the SSD's...how best to get the original photos onto the SSD's? Terrence - Can you explain what you mean by data loss? In the iPhoto Library? Or on the copy?
Larry - In what way is each photo "degraded"? Quality? Isn't it simply making an an exact copy, in this case a jpeg, as would happen if I dragged and dropped a different file type? Is there another type of degradation?
I am working on trying to create a correct backup as well (per your instructions) but I wanted to use this as a "put in a fireproof safe" archive on very small SSD's that would never have a mechanical hard drive problem (we've lost a couple over time so aren't real confident in their staying power)...I also recognize that I I won't have newer photos in this archive group but at least it would have 98% of our photos in another off-site location...at least that's the thought...

Everywhere I search, it says that Time Machine will automatically backup every 24 hours and so on.
However, I was wondering - how can these automatic backups take place if you are backing up to an external hard drive which is not always connected?
Is this to say that if you do not connect your external hard drive for a day, no backups will be done that day?

If the drive is not connected then TM pauses until the drive becomes available. Yes, if the drive isn't connected then there are no backups.
A whole lot about Time Machine for help with TM problems. Also you can select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "time machine" to locate articles on how to use TM. See also Mac 101- Time Machine.

Try using one ot the several WiFi transfer apps in the App Store. I do that all the time, back/forth between iPhone and iPad Mini. Works with videos, too.

Just drop the advertising - I know that battery capacity varies, and that the capacity of the phone battery - regardless of models, will degrade as the phone is used.
I contest the "specialists" to provide some straight simple guidelines to how one can treat a battery to increase the capacity.

Now how can such a battery be fixed? In old days with NiCd we could freeze the battery to -36C, that would make the iodine to solid. if iodine is still used, this will still work. Other semiconductors needed more than -100C to regain state - but with access to liquid Nitrogen, that was fully possible. Maybe Ni is not so common, but freon is, and LPG (Butane/Propane liquified). A home freezer can at times go as low as -38C.
So, can charging in heat / cold change the capacity of the battery?
Other: If I completely drain the battery between every charge - will that improve it?
If I start to recharge it when it is 80% of capacity, and disconnect immediately and use everything, Bluetooth, WLAN - to drain it to 80% and the recharge - can I restore the good old capacity?

I just got an apple 750gb Sata internal hard drive. I wanted to add the 750 gb to the original hard drive because i'm running out of space. By mistake I used that 750gb as the time machine hard drive. How can I erased the time machine and used the brand new 750 Gb sata as an add on to increase the total capacity of my computer.

You can't "add" one drive to another. You have to create your RAID which deletes current data. Then copy/restore files.
And anytime you want to create a RAID, use the same make and model drives.
Usually using one drive for OS/Apps and 2nd drive for scratch, 3rd for data is a good start. Then put your RAID in an external setup for such purposes or for a larger multi-drive scratch array.
You can hood up 6 drives before you have to get into a $200 RAID controller.
RAID is one of the most common topic of threads.
