How can iPhoto upload pictures to a digital camera? Or SL 10.6.2?

How can I upload photos from my MacPro SL 10.6.2 to my digital camera? If iPhoto or the OS can do it, it's not intuitive because I cannot figure it out.
My digital camera appears om Windows XPs desktop and Windows treats it as another disk. Extremely easy to drag photos on drive D: to my digital camera to simply upload.
Can the Mac do that? I don't see the digital camera on the desktop or anywhere except inside iPhoto.
All I want to do is copy photos and movies onto an 8GB Secure Digital Memory Card in my digital camera and then put the memory card into my son's Photo Frame so that he can view the pictures and play the movies.

What brand of camera do you have? Perhaps you might take it up with the manufacturer, after all, they are the ones who decide whether to support mounting on the OS X Desktop.
Given the amount of pictures I take, constantly taking my card in and out of the camera puts wear and tear on it,
Using a USB Card Reader is a much better and safer way to transfer your photos:
1. Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
2. It saves the battery on your camera
3. It saves wear and tear on your camera ports - and replacing a worn USB port on a camera is somewhat more expensive than replacing a camera card - and what "wear and tear" is there on a card?
4. It’s almost always faster.

There is not a feature in iPhoto to send photos back to camera (like iMovie does), but if you have the type of camera that mounts on the desktop when it is plugged into your computer you can probably do this using iPhoto's export command. When you plug your camera into your computer do you see an icon for it on the desktop and in finder windows? If so, just use the export command from iPhoto and export the pictures to that device. Let me know if you need more clarification.

Images can't be uploaded to this forum, but they can be displayed inside your post (inline) by making them accessible on a website. In that case put the url between two exclamation ('!') points, e.g. \!www.apple.com\!. You'll find more formatting info at [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121950].
You can see how your post will appear by clicking the Preview tab above the "Post Message: Reply" editor panel. Another trick that might come in handy: If you want to see how someone else formatted their post, just click Reply, then click the double-quote (") icon just below the Preview tab.

This is not necessarily 100% correct at the current time.
As Dropbox is encouraging people to set it up for automatic uploading of photos they gradually increment your space as you load more pictures for free at the current time.
You do start with a fixed 2 GB but if you upload photos you will be awarded more free space.
You can also open a free account with Flickr - you may have some upload limits per day but you can upload pictures there.

I am not sure what you mean.
As Files they are sent in Chats (pic-in-chats) and displayed in-Line.
Or they are sent as Separate Files, invoking the File Transfer Invite Window and you can "Accept' (Download) to the iChat Downloads folder.
If an Active chat has a Pic in it, the pic can be dragged to the Desktop.
Older Chats, if Saved, can also have Pics "grabbed" from them when opened.
To be using an iChat version you need to be using OS X 10.7.x (Lion) or Earlier.
Mountain Lion has Messages. This adds the iOS style iMessages account to what iChat can do.
Pics can be "Saved" to the Desktop the same way.

How can I edit pictures (red eye) and camera-made videos (orientation)? The pictures are now in my documents, taken from another laptop. Apple has automatically orientated photos, but not the videos. I've looked at past messages on red eye, but cannot even highlight an area, as suggested in the answers. Need I put the pictures etc in another folder in order to edit?

Use iphoto for the photos and iMovie for the video.

How I do it, I access my facebook via safari. I get just the regular site, but you could also try the mobile site, m.facebook.com. I just go to facebook.com and then can upload photos from there.
Try doing it via the browser instead of via the OS integration and see if that works.

What kind of printer are you using? Most of our newer printers still have memory card readers which would allow you to print pictures directly from the printer. If the printer truly does not have the memory card readers (some of them don't), then you would need to use a computer to transfer the pictures from the memory card before printing them.

Note that photos uploaded to PhotoStream are not visible online. It's purely a conduit for moving your photos between devices. All photos taken on, for example, your iPhone will turn up in iPhoto and on any other devices - you can't choose to sync only some photos, delete individual photos from the server or, as I say, view them online.

im trying to create a page that users can signin and upload a picture of themselves. im using dreamweaver CS5.5 in design mode not coding. this is my first attempt using dreamweaver and i have the hang of it but i dont know if this is to technical for me?

Having just gone through the process uploading is easy, it's what you want to do with the image after that is the issue.
Having said that when uploading you still need to make some provision in the instance of where people try to upload an image with the same name. i.e., if you have two people whose name is David and that's what they name their image - David.jpg, one image will overwrite the other. Also it's not good for there to be spaces in the file name, so David Alan Smith.jpg is not desirable but David_Alan_Smith.jpg is. It takes some technical know how but you can strip out the white spaces and replace them with underscores, plus to overcome the duplicate image problem if it arises you can add a randon number to the end of the image name David_Alan_Smith_3578976.jpg
Then of course what are you going to do with the images? Are they intended to be shown on a webpage or are they just for you to personally download and look at/work with. If they are destined to be shown on a webpage then how are you going to get them onto the webpage, manually or automatically. If automatically then you will need to set up a database to store the name of the image which can be retrieved and displayed on a webpage.
Plenty to think about.
