How can one edit a video clipl in iPhoto '11

Hi, i can use the edit in iphoto to save a piece of a movie clip, but suppose i want to delete the middle of a clip. I can't seem to find a simple way to doe this. Do i have to cut the beginning and the end of the movie separately, save each and then combine them in Quicktime? this seems very cumbersome.

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
to tell the developers your thoughts.
The confusion is because iPhoto isn't doing any of the video work. What's happening is that a QuickTime window is opening inside iPhoto - but that's no model of clarity either.

I have video thumbnails from my video camera in My Videos folder. I would like to edit them individualy and return them to my folder as thumbnails again.
I hope I have explained my needs properly. I have made a slideshow including video on photoshop, but I get lost with it on PremE so I have kept to the job on PhotoEl. It seems to work for me apart from the problem of editing the video clips. I have added audio to the slideshow, but when it gets to a video clip I lose the video's sound. I would like to keep that rather than the added audio (music) that plays over the stills.
As you have no doubt realised, I am a beginner and a pensioner. Would senility be an excuse?

How can I edit individual video frames?

I have been searching the web and scratching my head trying to figure out a way of scrubbing a bit of content out of a few frames in a video.
I have iMove (the latest version) and I have Final Cut Express (obviously a few years old now) and would be prepared to buy other software if necessary.
I think there's only about 10 frames I need to, basically, be able to "draw on" so I can smudge away or draw over the bit on the video we want gone.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have iMovie '11 what you want to do first is go to the iMovie Menu > Preferences > check mark Show Advanced Tools. Now select and drag the closeups from your Event Folder into the Project Browser and drop them dead center on top of one of the video clips where you want the closeup to appear. In the pop-up menu that appears choose Cutaway. iMovie will continue playing the 'background' sound track while the 'closeup' video appears on the screen.

How can I edit FRAPS video in Premiere Elements?

Although FRAPS isn't the best source format for video in Premiere Elements, some folks at Elements Village have come up with a workflow that seems to work pretty well.

1) The FRAPS software must be installed on the same machine you're editing your video on
2) ffdshow should also be installed
3) It is best to down-sample your video in FRAPS to 1280x720 at 30 fps before you bring it into Premiere Elements

5) Edit it in a Premiere Elements project set up for Flip Mino HD 30 (although, in a pinch, it may also work in a project set up for AVCHD Lite 1280x720p)

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
After you apply the Crop Effect (Edit Header/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop), you click on "Edit Effects" toward the bottom of the Effects area to bring up the Properties Palette for that particular clip to which you have applied the Crop Effect. You should see
Adjust the Crop sliders accordingly.

If it originated from the camera roll, it will have been backed up to iCloud with your most recent iCloud backup, see: iCloud: Backup and restore overview
the Camera roll photos will be visible in the Photo Stream on any other device you are syncing with the IOS device. iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
If your photos have been synced to iPhoto IOS via iTunes from a computer, simply sync again.

How can I export trimmed video clips from iPhoto?

I have video clips from a kid's sporting event that I need to send to other parents on the team. I've got 73 clips that have been loaded from an SD card, and I've trimmed the length on about half of them.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to export them from iPhoto. When I select 'Original', I get the full-size files, but they're not trimmed. I can drag and drop the clips from iPhoto to a folder, and I do get files that are trimmed correctly, but they're very small (around 12K), so I'm guessing that they link to files on my own hard drive, and won't work if I send them to somebody else.
I am guessing that I could fix the problem manually by making a list of videos that I trimmed, opening each one of the 12K files files in QT Player, and saving that movie. This creates a full-size movie file which is the right file size for the trimmed portion. However, I'd like to be able to do all of this in a single batch operation. Is there a solution for this?

You can't. Trimming inside iPhoto stays inside iPhoto. (Does that have a familiar ring to it?) All trimming must be done outside of iPhoto with Quicktime Player. So export the clips to a folder on the Desktop and do the trimming there.

How can one edit a .gif file graphics background and change the fonts in Photoshop Elements 13?

I am trying to change the color and fonts of some of my web sites .gif files. Can I change the color to another hexadecimal color and change the fonts of the letters in Photoshop 13? I am using Windows 7 and heard that you could save the .gif file to another format, edit it, then change the file back to a .gif file. Is this true? If so, how do you do it? The file just has a solid color with the letters "Firm " on it. No animation.

You can edit a gif without changing the format, but once you save the file as a gif the text becomes part of the image, not text anymore, so you would need to clone or heal away the existing text and then create a new text layer and use save for web to create a new gif.
For access to the most editing tools, while the file is open in the editor go to image>mode and change it from index color to RGB. Saving as a gif will change it back to index mode.

How can one store hd video for use with ipad and apple tv?

I'm looking for solutions. I don't have a computer. Not interested in renting what i really like or collecting blu rays.
Buy enough hd video films from the store and the iPad runs out of hard drive. I could buy more storage from the iCloud. What else could I do? The new apple tvs don't have a hard drive for storage. Hypershop.com has a hyperdrive external drive for the iPad, but 720P, is that full HD? They also have a new kickstarter funded product cloudFTP which connects hard drives etc to the iPad wirelessly. Not sure if this would work ok.
Any other ideas?

There are some cables you can use. Depends on what model iPad you have and what interface is on the projector. You could also get a router to take with you and set up your wifi connection. There's some portable routers.

How can one associate mp4 video files in Bridge?

Bridge has no problem showing them, but associating them with PS CS6 is antother story.
PS CS6 can open and edit those files when you drag them by hand into the workspace, but the preferences box of Bridge doesn't seems to know this kind of file type.

I have the Dutch version, so I have to guess in english : Edit>Preferences>File associations.
Appearently you have to make the connection within Windows, not Bridge. I've just done this and it seems to work well.

Move the domain.sites file from one computer to the other.
The file is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Move this file to the same location on the other computer and double click and iWeb will open it. Remember, it is your User Library that you want and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
Just create a new site on the same domain file and it will appear below the other site. If you want them side by side then duplicate your domain file and have one site per a domain file and they can then be side by side.
