Currently, I have Leopard 10.5.8. How can i download and install Snow Leopard or Lion? Thanks for your help.

You need to *call* Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE, as Ralph already said.
But "since one week" sounds like a direct translation of French "il y a".  You should call your local country's Apple suuport and ask.
Here is Amazon, from a "snow leopard buy" Google search: http://www.amazon.com/Mac-version-10-6-3-Snow-Leopard/dp/B001AMHWP8

  • How can I get rid of Snow Leopard?

When Lion was released I installed it in it's own partition on the HD of my Macbook Pro. I can change between starting with Snow Leopard or Lion by choosing either " start up with Mac OS X 10.6.8 on Mackintosh HD" or Mac OS 10.7.1 on Lion.
I am now happy enough to use Lion full time but I cannot seem to manipulate the partitions in any way.  Do I need to re-install Lion on the HD over Snow Leopard? Will that get rid of the existing Lion partition?
    Many thanks

    Ok, this is what happened
1: You had Snow Leopard already installed which takes the first (and fastest) part of the hard drive
2: You added another partition, formatted it HFS and installed Lion into it, likely there was no Recovery Partition installed when this occurred, Lion takes the second half of the hard drive which is slower.
Now you want to get rid of the Snow Leopard partition and merge the two partitions together, unfortunately this is not going to occur with Disk Utility or even renaming Snow Leopard "BOOTCAMP" changing it's format to MSDOS and using Bootcamp to merge the two partitions.
Also you need to address having the Lion Recovery Partition installed and moving Lion to the front part of the drive and utilizing all the space on the drive again.
What your going to have to do is Carbon Copy Cloner both Lion and Snow each to their own blank HFS formatted external drives and disconnect.
Hold c and reboot off the Snow Leopard install disks, erase the entire boot drive (select the makers name) and format HFS, install Snow, go through the setup (don't transfer files or install programs yet) Software update to 10.6.8, use the AppStore to option click on Purchases and redownload the Lion installer and install. This will restore your Lion Recovery Partition. (if you use the Lion boot DVDs on a blank drive, it will install the Lion Recovery Partition too, just not when you install into a partition like you did before)
Once your fine on that, hold option and boot from the Lion Clone and clone that to your Lion partition and you'll be set.
Carbon Copy Cloning defragments and optimizes on the fly by writing the files and folders according to their alphabetical order in the root directory, thus Applications is first and Users is last (Users being the most subject to change). As drives are fastest at the very front and slower as you work inwards, Applications and System will be faster (as they are smaller than Users) and Users files loading and write speeds will depend upon how much there is, which a person can easily control. As a result the boot drive stays optimized longer.

The Snow Clone is a extra bootable backup and in case you decide to clone that to a second partition later.

  • How can i downgrade lion to snow leopard on my macbook pro of early 2011

I'm trying to downgra my mac book pro back to snow leopard. i've already tried with snow leopard cd directly, but it seems not to work. I was wandering if there is a way to get apple to send me the correct version of snow leopard for my mac.
    Thanks in advanced,
    Flor

If it came with Snow Leopard, you can revert - but you have to erase your drive, so make a backup of your files first.
Then, insert the SL install disk, hold C key while restarting. Go past languages; then choose Disk Utility from Utilities. Choose erase. After erasing, SL will be installed. Update with Software Update and port back your files.
Note: the Mail program was changed significantly and you cannot simply revert - the two versions are not compatible. You'd need to extract whatever emails you need from the Lion version or, easier, simply resend those emails to yourself and don't check Mail/open them until after you're reinstalled Snow Leopard.

  • How to see what version of Cisco Jabber end users have installed

We are running CUCM / CUP 10.5.1.   Where would I be able to see which versions of Jabber are in our environment?   I want to upgrade everyone to Jabber for Windows 10.5, but first I would like some visibility into our current environment.

We are running Jabber for Windows in Deskphone mode, so there is no CSF device.  Any way to see what version of these clients?

  • How can I go back to snow leopard my epson stylus Photo TX810FW does not work with Lion

My Epson Stylus Photo TX810FW printer does not work with Lion how do I go back to Snow Leopard?

Did you try removing the printer from the queue and then reinstalling it?
I attempted to print this morning for the first time after upgrading to Lion and discovered that while everything appeared normal on my Epson printer, it would never print.
I opened System Preference > Print & Scan and deleted the printer.
I then added the printer back and it now working again. Worth a shoot first I should think.
    Much easier the a downgrade.

  • How can I return to the Snow Leopard version of Quick Look?

Lion does not allow playing more than one movie clip in succession, using Quick Look. In Snow (and earlier), you can select a bunch of clips, hit the spacebar, and they each play in alpha/numeric order without clicking the arrow button to play the next one. So, if your movie project is 10 clips in a folder, you highlight each and hit Space (play), you've got to click the forward arrow per clip. That's 10 times. You can't see your project as a whole. How can you get that function back? It's the same deal when quick-looking photos.
I prefer this method because it does not put what you view into the Recent Items.

The only way to return is to remove Lion and reinstall Snow Leopard.

  • I did a clean install of snow Leopard and now my iWork 09 will not work. does anyone one know where I can download the version for snow Leopard?

I did a clean install of Snow Leopard and now when I reloaded iWork 09 from my timemachine it will not open anything. any ideas.

iWork '09 is still available from the likes of Amazon.
Your experience is why I never trusted downloaded versions when there's a physical DVD available.
It may be possible to reactivate with your code, but I can't advise you as to how.

  • How can I share files from Snow Leopard to Lion?

I have an iMac running 10.6.8 with file sharing turned on. (I've tried AFP and SMB).
I am trying to connect to the iMac on my LAN using a Macbook Pro with 10.7.5.
I am immediately prompted to authenticate – so I am confident a connection is being made (I am also able to ping) – but when I enter my user credentials from the iMac, I get the spinner (not the beach ball) basically forever. I've let it go for several minutes and nothing ever happens.
This article seems related, but following the procedure in it did not help:

Has anybody been able to file share from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion?

You have heeded the caution about turning off the firewall, you are on the same subnet, and you have verified that the shared user is enabled on the iMac with the correct authorization and permissions? Password has to be that of the user account on the iMac?
The firewall is off on both computers.
How can I werify the shared user is enabled on the iMac with the correct authorization and permission? It does not seem like sharing is configured per user. The user is my normal user account which I use when logged into that machine for everything. I am using those credentials when trying to connect from the Macbook Pro. In the past I did this frequently without trouble. I am not sure when the problem started but the only thing that has changed was I got a newer Macbook Pro last year with Lion.
If you grow weary of this, you might just bring the Macbook Pro over to the iMac and use Target Disk Mode to mount that iMac on your Macbook Pro as a desktop disk. Then drag and drop. No a long term solution.
This is not practical for me as I frquently have need to work from another room using the Macbook Pro and with files that typically live on the iMac (and get backed up from that location). I am making due with Dropbox for now, but the reason I have been driven to post here is that I am looking for the long term solution.
Thanks for feedback. Let me know if you have any additional thoughts.

  • How can I revert back to Snow Leopard (10.6)?

    Hello,
I've had it. I can't take Lion any more!! I am one of the idiots who downloaded Lion the first hour it became available. Since then, my life has become a nightmare. Lion is so buggy---Apple blew it big time with this software. Multiple crashes every day, I've lost thousands of saved emails, my calendar is all messed up....I am at my wit's end and I want NOTHING to do with Lion any more.
I don't care how difficult it is---I'm willing to do it. But I don't even know where to turn to get started for such a task, but how can I revert my Operating System back to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)? I've been a Mac user since 1985 and I have never EVER had these types of problems. I thought that Apple would have released a software "patch" or something by now---but nope---the drama continues.
I am using a MacBook Pro, my OS is 10.7.1. Please---can someone point me in the right direction so that I can begin the process of dumping this terrible software so that I can go back to something that works?
    Thank you very much.

Well, if you made a bootable clone with SL before installing Lion, it's easy - if you didn't, it's a bit more difficult. It will involve having to erase your hard drive, so back up your stuff first. Then, if you have the clone, simply boot from it, erase your drive and clone back. If not, insert your SL install disk, boot from it, erase your drive and reinstall.

  • How can I get past a Snow Leopard install disc hang-up?

Trying to upgrade 2009 Mac Mini to Snow Leopard from 5.6.8. Install disc won't allow install to Mac HD because it insists Time Machine is using Mac HD for backups, but it isn't. Time Machine is using a partitioned 1T external drive. How can I get the install disc to acknowledge and upgrade on the internal HD?

Allan, There was exactly that file on the internal HD - and on each of the three partitions of the external drive. I dragged all such files to the Trash, which seem to eliminate much of the file(s), but the Trash won't empty completely because of a message that "BootX" is locked, as is "boot.efi" - though I'm instructed to hold Option and Empty Trash (which won't hightlight; actually a "continue" button is the only choice in a dialog box). So now I'm not sure any of these "locks" are clearing; I want to re-start the computer before trying to install Snow Leopard again, and I can't have this hung up in the Trash in any case.  Anything more you could suggest?
Thanks so much for your response and help.

  • How can I import contacts from Snow Leopard iMac to my Mavericks MBP without replacing all of the contacts.

*** Updated - FIgured this out right after I posted... I simply selected all contacts on the iMac, exported as a .vcf then dragged that into the MBP contacts ***
    Problem solved...
    *Original Question*
I have a MacBook Pro (MBP) running Mavericks... syncs contacts via iCloud with my iOS devices.  My iMac is an original intel model from 2006 which can only run Snow Leopard.  I have many contacts on that iMac that I would like to copy into the contacts on my MBP.
I used the 'Address Book Archive' feature on my iMac - transferred that to a flash drive then tried to import into the MBP contacts at which point it said it would replace the contents on my MBP... something I do NOT want to do.
Does anyone have a way of bringing all of my iMac contacts in to the MBP without replacing?
I appreciate any help...  Thank you !

  • How can I Tell if my Snow Leopard disk is a family pack

Last year my daughter's macbook HD crashed. She's going to school in FL, got a new HD, and I told her to upgrade the OS and get a Snow Leopard Family Pack, and send it home. I'm finally getting around to installing it and it won't work. I get to the point of selecting a HD — it says my it can't be installed on my HD, but can install it on my emergency startup parition. I ran Disk Utitlities/Repair Disk, it says it's fine. I'd rather not go through the erase disk process.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks
      Mike

Doesn't matter. Apple runs install discs on the honor system. It's up to you to follow the rules. If the one you have won't install, then there's something amiss with your installation. BTW, you show that you're running SL, so why are you wanting to install it? Try an update installer instead, such as the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
