I went to sign up for Facetime on my brand new iMac with my current email and Apple ID and then it asked if I wanted to use another email for folks to contact me on and so I entered it and then it said it could not verify the email address because someone else is using it! It is MY EMAIL ADDRESS how can someone else have my exact email address???

I am having this problem as well signing up for iCloud on my iPad. It's asking for an apple ID and it must be in the form of an email address, but both email addresses I use say "ID already exists". Yet when I go to reset the password for either one, I never get the email.

That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

That's definitely not supposed to happen. You shouldn't have someone else's iCloud email linked to your ID.
You'll have to get iCloud support to sort this one out. The only way to contact them is to start here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/. You'll have to provide your iPhone serial number. Unless it's within the 90 day free support window, or you purchased AppleCare, there will be a charge. I suppose you can plead your case when they answer that you shouldn't be charged as you didn't set up this address and it shouldn't have happened with your ID.

Do you remember the answers to your security questions ? If you do then log into your account on http://appleid.apple.com, select the Password And Security section of your account's page, answer the two questions that show and you can then add a rescue email address : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620
If you don't remember your answers then you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

Can I have two separate email addresses/users with my one email account without paying anything extra?
For instance: one email address with [email protected]
And another one at: [email protected]
And, if that's possible:
1. Does it mean paying extra because you are having two separate accounts?
2. Since it is on the same general account, do the emails and return emails show in the same location or do they show in a different place? For instance, if the 2nd user sends and email and someone returns it, will I as the first user name see both of those?

You can have up to five additional addresses, but they are not separate accounts. They are called 'email aliases' and are simply extra addresses which feed into the main inbox (and please note that you cannot create any new @mac.com adresses, they will be @me.com). Please see here about aliases:

It's actually a good idea to give everyone an alias address rather than the main one, since if it gets spammed you can easily change it, whereas as you can't change your main address without opening a new account.
If you need extra email accounts then you could go for a MobileMe Family Pack. Of course you can always set up free accounts with Google or Yahoo.

This is the first time I have ever replied to a question on here but I actually know this because I just figured it out for myself.
On the apple tv go to settings>computers
Then turn off home sharing.
Now go back to the main menu and open computers.
When you do it will give the option to use the previous home sharing settings or to use a new apple id.

You can't do that with MobileMe. MobileMe's mail servers will only accept senders from their own domains (@mac.com and @me.com). No other senders, not even from configured personal domains, will be accepted.
You will either have to use your companies SMTP server or, if not public available, your companies webmail.

There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes.
Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list. I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me. My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see. There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email. As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one. I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information. This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
