How can uploap a file pdf in the portal?

Dear Experts.
I have the following requirement.
The company want that I create a link in a subarea of the portal of Employee Self-Service and that call a file test.pdf and the employee can display this odcument.
I found in this forum that this is posible upload this file in the KM; But i don't have idea of How do this.
The steps that I have idea is when I have the URL for create the resource and the service and assign this service to a subarea in the portal of Employee Self Service.
Anyone can help me with some suggestions?

Hi ,
At first you need to upload the required pdf file in KM repository uder documents folder .
You can crteate your own folder inside the documents folder and then upload the pdf file there.
After that you need to create KM document iview in PCD.
Below steps are for creating the KM Document iview
1) Select the Folder you have created in PCD for project purpose.
2) Right Click the Folder and in the Panel, choose Iview.
3) In the displayed iview wizard, choose iview template (This is the Source Type in the RoadMap)
4) Click next, in the template selection wizard choose KM Document iview and click next
5) In the general properties provide iview name, id and description and click Next button
6) In the next step click Open Object for Editing and click ok button
7) In the properties view Edit path to Document property
For Example there is a document with some name in the Folder created by you which is under Documents folder. Give the path of this document.
Eg: /documents/<your folder name>/<filename>
8) Save the changes and Select preview for testing then the iview displays your file contents.

How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border? (2 pages per sheet preferred)
I usually print pdfs of books at a copy shop and they turn out fine.
The problem comes when I try to print the same books at home.
I use Adobe Acrobat X with the same settings: "multiple pages per sheet" (2x1) and page border. But the pages are slightly shrunken when printed. I think this is because my printer can't print as closely to the margins. Still, two pages should be able to fit on one sheet in actual size. Are there any layout settings that I can play with to find a better fit, besides portrait and landscape?
If I select page scaling "none," I'm able to print the pdf in actual size, one page per sheet. But there's no option to add a page border.

I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
"if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
"if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting

Are you in Safari and you want to copy them to iBooks, or you in a different app ? Assuming that you are using Safari, then if I open a PDF on my first gen iPad in Safari and tap on it, I then get a pop-up bar at the top of it with the 'Open In' options.

How can I recover files created in the guest account?

I set up a guest account for the kids to use, and my wife then used my Mac to type up a word document (for over 3 hours) and saved it at the end of the evening. The next day she returned, and it had gone! I now read that the "Guest account" deletes all files when the computer is switched off (what idiot decided to make this deletion so immediate and so permanent, I am perplexed, why not at least put them in a temporary folder?).

I'm sorry you've lost files, but when you set up an account as Guest, there's a message that clearly states "When a guest user logs out, all information and files in the guest account's home folder are deleted". If you want an account where files are retained, you should create an Admin or Standard type.
You will need to use data recovery techniques to see if your file can be recovered. The more that you use your computer, the greater the risk that the file will be overwritten. You can contact a professional data recovery service such as DriveSavers (which will be expensive, but you can judge the value of the file) or try something like Data Rescue. The latter has a demo which you can install to determine if your file can be recovered, and then, on purchase, you can actually recover the file.

How can I access files saved from the browser on my tablet? Doesn't open files?

I tried to save a document on my tablet but in the downloads place in the browser it wouldn't open. I thought it was OK cause maybe the doc format, but I just tried to save a photo and when I tried to open it, it said "unable to find the default app."
How can I get the photo on my tablet under pictures or something? Do I need to download a special app?

How can I name files separate from the page titles on the menu options?

Ok, this is so much of a pain. I use a unix based web-server so the content is very case sensitive, and having spaces in the file names is just unmanageable. So.. how can I have pretty menu titles but have real world filenames?
Presently I have to generate the pages, drop to vi and edit every frickin file to change the spaces to '_' characters and stuff. Depending on how many pages I have takes quite a long time.
Anyone figured out a way to get around the stupid apple file naming convention ??

Thanks, I was afraid that was the case. So to have normal filenames that work cross platform I've got to manually tweak the pages once they are done. I suppose I was just hoping there was some 'expert' edit mode where I could have names for the files, vs names for the pretty menu items. Oh well, its not that bad I suppose it takes me say a day to manually code up a multi page site by hand, so if I can blow out a muliti page iWeb site in under an hour and then take another hour to tweak the code its still a win.

You need to use a Java stored procedure created within the Orcale 8i database.
This Java stored procedure should import the java mail classes.

How can I bind an IIS to the Portal 6.0 on a linux server

Dear all,
I am very new to the topic of Enterprise Portal.
Our intention is, to develop .NET IViews and deploy them in the Enterprise Portal.
The Enterprise Portal Server is set up on a linux machine.
The Guy who did install the Portal Server, has no idea how to "integrate" the Microsoft IIS to the Portal.
After deploying my .net Component, i tried to view this component in the portal (by right clicking the mouse on the Component in in the .NET Solutions Explorer).
This gives me the following error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occured while processing a request for:
iView:N/A
Component Name: N/A
Could not find portal application com.sap.portal.dotnet.framework.
Exception id: 02:06.......
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I think that this has something in common with integrating the IIS on the Linux Machine, and maybe additionaly installing the pdk.net on the IIS webserver machine which should be used.

Developing .Net Iviews for SAP EP is best done using the PDK for .net available for download on SDN.
We are using this succesfully with a Portal Installed on AIX.
The .Net PDK itself contains a plugin in Visual Studio .Net, a SAP .Net Framework (I think this corresponds to error message) that has to be installed on a .Net server and 2 components to be deployed to the portal that allow you to do some configuration for .Net applications (e.g. the server where the SAP.Net runtime is on,...)
Please have a look into the documentation available here on SDN :

Search for com.bea.content.manager.servlets.ShowBinaryServlet class and com.bea.content.manager.servlets.DownloadBinaryServlet class. You can use one of these depending on your requirment. I think there is not jsp tag for these classes so you have to use scriptlets.

Is there a way to encrypt PDF files created via Crystal Report's export feature? We need to have such PDFs encrypted so that end users cannot copy information from them (files would be read only).
I have researched in these Forumns and the old Business Objects' forums but could not find information on the topic. Crystal Report's online help does not provide any information either.

I have a problem with sorting files. I have files coming from FTP into my Presentation server.Files are like

Among these files i should filter the files with 3160 and 3360. and among filtered files i should pick the most recent file of both 3160 and 3360 and put them in another internal table. I am getting stuck how to justify this requirement. Not only 3160 and 3360 i have few more like that. Please help me out.

sort jtab by fnamedate time descending.
loop at jtab.
at new jtab-fnamedate.
concatenate jtab-fnamedate jtab-time into ktab-filename.
append ktab.
endat.
endloop.
After this loop ktab will contain latest files.

I have developed a pure and simple Java Application just like a test, only Java, no EJB, no JSP. JUST PURE JAVA. I need to put this application in my Oracle9iAS Portal and i've found something about developing EAR and WAR. But i can't find the way to put my app in the portal.
Does anybody know how can i put my app in the portal? or what should i do?
