How can we disable panning gestures in Safari?

Our medical practice uses iPad Airs to allow patients to sign medical forms directly into our EMR via Safari. The problem we're finding is that many of them are having difficulty doing so because they will rest their hand on the glass while signing with the stylus. This results in the page panning around rather than them signing the form. Since a great many of them are elderly, they are having difficulty signing without resting their hand. Is there a way to disable the 2-touch panning effect in Safari? I've tried disabling multi-tasking gestures but it still has no effect.

Hi,
Follow the steps:
1.Get the field name you want to keep disable or "hide" mode.
2.Go to OMSR and enter field name and get field selection group
3.Go to OMS9 and select your material type and get the field selection group and keep as "Hide" mode and save.
It will sure work.If helpful then reward and close the thread.
Regards,
Biju K

  • How can I disable the tabs in safari on the ipad2

How can I disable the tabs on safari on my ipad2. I hate the tabs!!!

You can't, Safari on iOS 5 on the iPad uses tabbed browsing. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll get the choice of tabs or thumbnail/paged browsing : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
In the meantime I think that the (free) Opera browser and the iCab Mobile browser in the app store offer thumbnail browsing to some degree.

  • How can I disable hardware acceleration in Safari 5.1 ?

for performance testing purposes, I need to do so. Specifically, to disable 2D Canvas hardware acceleration.
I can't figure out how. Is there any way? I am on Mac. I would like to know about how to do so both on Mac and Windows.

You can switch acclelerated compositing and accelerated canvas drawing on and off from the Debug menu. To enable this menu run
    defaults write com.apple.safari IncludeInternalDebugMenu 1

Did you install a plugin or an extension? If you're not sure, how did you install it?

  • How can I disable reading lists in Safari 7.0.6 ? Or other options to fix issue below (?)

It used to be that you could go to preferences --> bookmarks, but now there is no bookmarks under preferences and the bookmarks tab itself has no preferences (that I can find).
My issue, specifically, is that when I try playing a YouTube video, it moves it to the reading list instead of playing it. When I click it from the reading list even, it just moves another one to reading list rather than play. It's very odd and I've never had this issue before. I haven't messed with my preferences a bit so I'm at a loss as to how this happened, but any info as to how I can prevent it from continuing/change it is greatly appreciated.
Not sure if my issue is my settings somewhere in the abyss of my iMac or YouTube itself or what, I just thought maybe removing reading list might (?) help, but I'm willing to try whatever works. Any terminal entries would be great too.
    Thanks in advance!

Might be a Safari extension ..
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Hi there!  How can I disable auto refresh in Safari 4.0.4?

I find the auto refresh of websites irritating.  Sites even refresh while viewing an imbedded video, forcing you to restart the vid.
    Some sites specifically: Drudgereport.com & Instapundit.com
    Thanks for any help  offered!
    Jim in Guam

Sadly this did not fix the problem.  Also having turned JavaScript off, trying it out, and reverting to JavaScript back on, now videos don't play in Safari.  Also, I asked for info on Safari 4.0.4, which should have been 5.1.5.
Thanks for the effort in any event!
    Jim

You can dismiss it by tapping the solid blue bookmark. You can avoid it all together by making Favorites of your bookmarks then enabling the Show Favories Bar.

By voiding your warranty and hacking it. There may be other fixes though. Try resetting network settings in settings>general>reset. If that doesn't work try a hard reset. If that doesn't work then backup, restore as new, then from backup

  • How can I disable Firefox from automatically opening on system startup on my Mac - unchecking the "open at login" does not work?

We have Firefox 10.o on our Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8. I prefer using Firefox as my browser but my husband prefers Safari for now because of a long history of bookmarks and saved information he doesn't have time to re-do. He is tired of Firefox automatically opening when we start up the laptop, and even when we uncheck the "open at login" it still opens at login every time. He is about to uninstall it because of this. How can we disable? It does NOT show up in our account on the Mac OS as an application that starts at login, so we can't disable it there.

For those of you running Windows, I found this on another site. (Unfortunately, not before getting totally disgusted and switching to chrome.)
    1. click start (or the windows flag button at the bottom left) 2. in the "search programs and files" or the RUN dialog box, enter "msconfig.exe" or "msconfig". 3. That should open the system configuration program. 4. click the "Startup" tab at the top of the opened program. 5. Under the "startup item" column, look for Mozilla firefox. 6. uncheck that one. 7. Click OK or apply. 8. click "exit without restart". 9. you're good to go.

  • How can I disable iCloud on my iMac and my iPod touch 5th gen?

My ipod touch 5th gen now syncs through icloud. How can I disable icloud from my ipod and my imac and go back to syncing through iTunes.  Is it possible to do this without losing the data in contacts and ical?  Any ideas would be much appreciated!

With the iPod connected to your computer go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck the box that says: Sync with this iPod over Wi-Fi.
Also in the Summary pane check the box that says backup to the computer.

  • How can I change the settings in Safari to list the open windows chronologically instead of alphabetically?

How can I change the settings in Safari to list the open windows chronologically instead of alphabetically?  I keep a lot of open windows e.g., 25 windows and many tabs on each) and like to work between a few at a time.  The problem is that Safari reorganizes windows alphabetically.  Once I open a new window, it take a while to find the windows I'm looking for.  Chrome and Firefox list the open windows chronologically which I find much easier.  The newest windows are at the bottom of the list.
