How can we have two Itunes accounts on one computer? I found info on the itunes help page but I do not know how to follow the steps given because I am not prompted with what it says I should be prompted with? Please help I don't want to delete one of our libraries

She's going to use your computer to sync with iTunes.
Create an new computer login on your computer for her. This will keep her stuff separate and she won't be able to mess with any of your info.
Log into her computer account.

You can enter a credit card to create the account then delete the CC info. Or you can use an iTunes gift card and she can fund the account with gift cards instead of using a CC to make purchases. This is an easy way to control spending.
on the iPad, go to Settings > iMessage > Off.
Then Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content & settings.
Once it finishes, plug in the iPad, select it in iTunes and this will set it up as a new device. Enter all your granddaughter's info.
When she wants to sync her iPad or use iTunes, she needs to log into your computer with her account.
Then the iTunes library she uses will be only hers.

If you've used iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownloaded an account's past purchases then you will have tied your computer to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - so you won't be able to do either of those 3 things on a different account until the 90 days have completed.

I gave my daughters each an old iPOD. One is 20 GB and the other is 60 GB. I take an iBOOK laptop with me when I visit so I can update them. In the past, they shared the 20 GB iPOD only. Now I have a problem as one iPOD can store a lot more than the other. Is there any way to have two separate iTUNES files on one iBOOK computer, one with the songs for the 20 GB iPOD, and the other for the 60 GB iPOD?

The problem with making separate accounts is that this is a laptop, so likely not a huge hard drive, and if the three iTunes libraries need to have a lot of the same music (because everyone or two or three like some of the same stuff) you end up with double or triplicate copies of the music on the hard drive eating up drive space. Since they don't use his laptop normally, creating more accounts (with all the associated files and drive space usage each account would eat up) it probably isn't worth it.
Instead, the best approach is like Chris said, to make playlists for the girls in the main library and then set up the various iPod to either sync everything (if big enough) or sync only specific playlists (if not big enough).
Alternatively, they can set their iPods to manual syncing and then when Dad is visiting they can hook up their iPods and "shop" the library and drag in whatever they want to add to the iPods and delete what they no longer want.

I had my music on my itunes on my old computer (pc), and need to move it to my husband's computer. My husband and I both have iphones and want to keep using our seperate itunes accounts on one computer, as we both have our own media set up on our accounts. I had burned my music from the old computer onto discs and imported onto the new one...works in the library but I can't put them into playlists, which means I can't put the music on my iphone. As for using two seperate accounts on one computer, it was suggested to me to make another profile on windows (vista), and use the second account on that profile. I did that and have had such a frustrating time trying to get this to work. I don't know if I've done something wrong, but it's just headache after headache. Somehow my apps even ended up on my husband's account? Also, how can we share music between our profiles? It seems ridiculous that we should have to buy an album twice just because we have to different accounts. I would be willing to create a third joint account with my husband, but only if we can still have our own music, apps, etc, and can somehow transfer the music we have to this new account...if possible. Suggestions please???? I'm so close to pulling out my hair over this!!!

You'll need to copy the music currently on your iPod to your new PC and into iTunes first before you can sync it to the new iPod.

Okay, I have and love an iPod nano 4GB White English. I have Windows XP, and I have iTunes on it, but we do not have seperate User Accounts for some reason, we have individual folders. My iTunes is in my folder, our main music "jukebox" program is Windows Media Player, all but I use it.
I am thinking of getting my sister an iPod nano 1GB White English for Christmas (early to think, I no, but...). However, will she be able to have a SEPERATRE iTunes from mine (we each have our own songs, we do not share), if she puts in in her folder? Or no? Do you have to have seperate User Accounts? You can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" which would allow you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 1800MB for a 2G). Another way of course is to choose to "manually manage songs and playlists" and update the iPod manually. You can read more about playlists at these links:

So my wife made the mistake of logging into her iTunes account on my computer to purchase some music and she also (without knowing what she was doing) turned on family sharing at some point.
This is irritating for multiple reasons:
