How can we tell when the Aperture+TM bug is fixed?

I'm wondering how I will know when Apple has fixed the time machine bug with Aperture, here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1228

Since this appears to be a core OS issue, watch for updates in that area. Most likely, watch for 10.5.3 being released. Nobody outside of Apple knows which this will be, though I speculate that it will be in the next few weeks. Rumour sites have been talking about changes which developers are seeing in their pre-release copies for a couple of months now. When it's released, the Mac-oriented part of the interweb will talk about little else for days. Watch for discussions which begin by listing what's addressed in the new release. In particular, keep an eye on the various Aperture forums/sites, as they should quickly identify changes which affect or relate to Aperture.
Also, Apple should also have at least one tech page which lists all the changes (at least, all the changes they're prepared to list).
Final thought - when any updates are released, keep an eye on the web page you've cited. It could well be updated to reflect any changes, but give them a few days....

  • How can I tell when the NEW firmware is available ?

Although the firmware became available for the 'z2 tablet' very quickly - nothing has appeared for the phone (UK - SIM free).
I have tried the update several times (with my PC) & am just told 'up to date'....
I remember with the 'xperia s' I had to check a code (on a sticker inside the rear of the phone) to tell when it was available for me - how do I do this with the Z2 ?

Unfortunately we are unable to confirm specific date for any particular firmware release due to the nature of the approval process.. For further information regarding the approval process please see here.

The small battery symbol has a lightning bolt symbol when the battery is charging and a electrical plug symbol when it is completely charged.

  • How can I tell when the IP address was changed on my HP Laserjet 2055dn printer?

I have an HP2055DN printer that someone changed the IP address on. It is connected to a print server ( Windows 2003 server ) on our network.  I have not found an entry in the logs of the printer or in the event logs on the Print Server.  Does anyone know where to look or what event id or message I would be looking for?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Since this is a 2 line display model, you should be able to go to the control panel of the printer and print a config page.
Control panel - right arrow - reports - config page.
The IP address should be in the left hand column on the config page.

If there is a legal issue I am sure Apple would properly respond if the records were subpoenaed, but short of that I do not know of a way.

How can we tell if the iphone is already fully charged in ios7? Even if its 100% the thunderbolt icon is still displayed. Not like in ios 6 that we will know when to unplug the charger because there is an indicator.

For those who seem unfamiliar with what is being asked:
On iOS 6 and older, just because the phone reached 100%, didn't mean it was Fully Charged. The way you could tell was the lightning bolt symbol that indicated the device was charging would change to an outlet plug when the device was not only 100%, but also stopped accepting further charge. This symbol switch would occur anywhere from 5-15 minutes after the device already was displaying 100%.
Now, on iOS 7, while it still reaches 100% with that same lightning bolt charge symbol, during the 100% point, it never switches to the plug symbol to indicate the charge period is totally finished.
Can anyone confirm if there is a way to see this charge completion in iOS 7 since it appears that there is no longer a symbol for it? Is there any indication that Apple may have changed the charging display so that now it only displays 100% when it would have previously displayed that plug symbol?

Doesn't show mirroring any more. Was working while watching a movie but when I pulled it out from the computer and put it back in the system would no longer mirrorr the screen on the TV.

The best option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.  The evaluation will be for FREE!

I'm having trouble turning on my ipad and how can I tell when it's fully charged?

Try a Reset - hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 15 seconds.
Have you read the User Guide?
Unless the charge indicator has bee turned off you see the percentage charged in the top right of the screen.

  • What is iMovie doing after update?  How can I tell when it's done?

"Updating" a whole lot of old iMovie events to the new iMovie 10 library.
When I tried to trash the old events the OS warned that they were "still in use".  No problem, I thought.  Shut down iMovie, and then trash the old events.
Well, when you try to shut down iMovie it tells you there are still "tasks being completed in the background" and that if you shut down they won't ever be completed.
    so......
What are these tasks?  (iMovie 10, after a big import, is using about 20-25% of a CPU continuously, according to Activity Monitor)
If I do shut down despite the warning what are the consequences?
How can I tell when it's done and I can safely shut down iMovie? (I guess I sould wait and see if it ever stops warning me).

Did you read the manual? It's usually explained on what does all this stuff mean on the screen. I don't think the manual that comes with the Micro isn't the player's guide but if you install the software I think, you can look it up by going through Start>Program Files>Creative>Creative Zen Micro>User Guide. This is the default directory.
Anyway, yes your Micro is charging and if you want to play your music on your MP3 player while it's charging you can use Nomad Explorer to play the music on your computer or use Creative Mediasource to play the music and hear it from your MP3 player. You can't control your MP3 player so just use your computer. It's not that hard to learn.

how can i tell if the caps are on?

If you have the HP Keyboard software installed, you are supposed to get an on screen display that pops up in the lower left corner of your screen showing you when numlock, caplock are enabled. If you don't get that, you can try reinstalling the keyboard software using HP recovery manager (just the keyboard software - do not do a system recovery!)
