How can you change all of the control codes from one  number to another?

I'm trying to use CC11 for Dynamic Expression Control, rather than just runing the volume CC7 all the time. My problem is that I would like to do a large select of say all CC codes that are 7 and move them to be 11 rather than do it one event at a time. Is there a technique for this?

The Samplecontruct's recommendation is right and probably conformable if you want to process one or a few midi region(s) containing CC7.
In addition, if have multiple midi regions on a track and want to process in one step then the Transform window is recommended. I.e you select that track (which will select all regions), open the Transform and create the custom template I show in the pic below). Hit the "Select and Operate" (4) button which will select the matching contend (CC7) internally of the track selected regions and operate in one step. This saves time if you must select 50-60 regions and change their CC# using the Event list technique for instance.

  • How can I change my primary account on iTunes from one computer to another computer?

I opened an iTunes account years ago when I had a Dell, and after the Dell crashed, I got a new Macbook and authorized the mac to play all my iTunes music and whatnot that I had bought on the Dell.  I don't want this computer to just be "authorized", however.  I would like to know how to set this mac as the primary computer so that I can then authorize 5 additional computers to play my music.  Does anyone know how to do this or have a phone number for Apple to get in touch with someone who can do it for me?  Thanks very much!

Open iTunes on your Mac, click "iTunes Store" on the upper right, then click "Account" on the middle right.  Sign in there.  That will make the signed in account the "primary".

  • How can you transfer "my settings" for track instruments from one computer to another?

I am trying to transfer garage band recordings from laptop to desktop - the real instrument tracks have been adjusted manually and save as "my settings". How to I transfer those settings from my laptop to my desktop. The recordings show up but not with the settings.

Your personnal software Instruments are stored in the Instruments Library in your User Library.
For example, I have custom Choir settings stored in in a file:
         ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Software/Synth Textures/riffyrifftest.cst
Copy the instruments in  ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings
to the corresponding folders on your desktop computer and install them there,
    Regards
    Léonie
P.S. is your profile signature current? Otherwise, if you are unsing Lion or Mt. Lion your user library may be hidden.

Apple IDs generally don't stop existing. If you mean that you have changed your email address, what you need to do is update your Apple ID to the new email.  Start here:

Copy the iTunes folder (Mac: Home\Music or PC: My Music) to the same location on the new computer. If an iTunes folder already exists on the new computer (it will on a Mac) replace it with one you copied.

  • I'm upgrading from iPad2 to iPad air.  how can I transfer all my data and apps from one to the other?

Hi, I'm upgrading from my iPad2 to the iPad Air.  What is the most painless way to transfer all my data from one device to another?
I have iannotate, which I've just found out is no longer syncing via iCloud (I thought that's what I was paying all that storage for) and a lot of catalogued PDF's on it.  Is there any other way besides plugging it in to my old Mac via iTunes to do the transfer?

Favor the route via iTunes and local storage on the computer. MUCH faster than any cloudy backup, no matter the speed of your Internet connection. No network beats the speed of a hard drive. Just make sure there's enough room on the computer before you start, must contain all that's on the iGadget.

  • How can i remove all of the purchased songs from my phone?

I want to remove all of the purchased songs from my phone, but I'm not having any success.  I've transferred the purchases to iTunes, and turned off the cloud on my phone, but they are still there.  They will not let me delete them...

It's an iPhone 5S, I'm running the latest OS, 8.1.
OK, maybe time to get extreme.  I've had similar experiences, sometimes occurring after making direct-to-device purchases and sometimes after doing an iOS update.  In the two times I've experienced what you've seen I've fixed it by digging deeper, bear with me:
If your iPhone is not set for manual management, do so. (i.e. select "Manually manage music and video")
While connected to iTunes, navigate the contents of the iPhone.  Select all songs and delete them.  Ignore the gray ones if still present.
Eject the iPhone and go to Settings/ General/ Usage/ Manage Storage.  Let the list populate then select the Music category.  In the next screen, swipe across "All Songs" from right to left and tap Delete.
Connect back to iTunes, perform a backup, then restore the iPhone and reload the backup.
Your iPhone should now have its settings, accounts, and apps back, but no music -- not even the "ghost" entries.  Add the music back that you want, either via manually dragging and dropping from iTunes, or auto-syncing all or a portion of your library.
Some people reported luck with just step #3.  The problem I've had with that, is any music that I want remaining on the iPhone gets corrupted, such that playback will skip and/or show the wrong artwork.  By deleting all music first, then following up with a restore, that seems to clear the problem.  Personally I avoid direct-to-device purchases since I've had spooky occurrences almost every time where the purchases are very difficult to remove.

  • How can I transfer entire contents of Mail mailbox from one Mac to another?

I've long wondered how to do this:
I have two Macs - an iMac and a MacBook Pro.
I have categorized several hundred emails on the MacBook into a separate "mailbox" by itself. Let's just call it "Project XYZ emails" for the sake of discussion.
I need to transfer ALL of those emails +en masse+, hopefully still categorized together into a separate "Project XYZ emails" mailbox file, from the MacBook to the iMac. How is this done?
In the old days, when I used to use Eudora, this was quite simple -- one could physically locate the separate desired "mailbox" file in the Finder and just copy it from one hard drive to the other, and then place the mailbox into the appropriate place of Eudora's file structure on the second computer. Relaunch Eudora and voila, the new mailbox is there for viewing, etc.
But in Mail, I can't find any tangible "file" on my hard drive that represents a "mailbox" in the Mail program. And that includes control-clicking the application file itself and choosing "Show Package Contents." When I do that, I can see, after burrowing into the folders, a single large file called "Mail" which I think contains ALL mailboxes lumped together. But I can't see a way to separate them for individual manipulation.
Any suggestions or ideas on how to copy entire mailboxes in Mail from one Mac to another?

    Thanks! Seems to have worked.
Once I imported tham, I had to fiddle around renaming mailboxes and "moving" the emails to the desired locations, but that only took a minute. So overall, seems like that's the solution! I only wish that the steps to do this were made clearer by Apple in the Mail "help" menu -- where I couldn't find any mention of how to do this.
A happy ending, in any event.
In case anyone reads this in the future, let me add in the missing steps, to make it perfectly clear:
In Mail, choose 'archive mailbox' from the mailbox menu.
+Copy the newly created archived mailbox file, which will probably be a file with the suffix ".mbox," from the original machine to the second machine.+
On the second machine: In Mail choose 'import mailbox' from the file menu.
+The emails will now appear in a new mailbox in Mail listed under the name "imported" or "import." If desired, either rename the mailbox, or create a new mailbox with the correct name, and "move" all the emails into it.+
    Done!

  • How can I move my iPad's iTunes backup from one user to another?

Is it possible to move my iPad's iTunes backup from one user to another, so as to change which user the iPad is syncing to without deleting any app data? Currently the iPad is synced to one user on my iMac, and I would like to transfer it so that it will sync with a different user on the same iMac (using iTunes, of course). I'd like to replace content from the old user's iTunes library with my user (eg. music, movies), but I don't want to loose app data in the process if I can avoid it.
I have tried to use the pathway /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup but my iMac doesn't seem to have a MoblieSync folder. I wouldn't know what to do with the backup anyway though.
Can anyone help me or is this request too complicated, difficult, or impossible? Thanks for your help!

The Apple Document covers this. See the footnotes of my google docs
I've done this, it is easy, but takes time and patience.
On the existing mac with OSX and Configurator:
    ========================================
    - run disk utility and verify your disks are ok, a must
    - make note of the user logged in when using configurator  such as "bob"
    - connect a new or newly reformatted USB formatted for Apple
    - run time machine and backup to the USB
    - Take the mac off the network,
    - Buy a new mac
    - setup the mac with a new logon account like Paul or  "bob2"   do not use BOB !!
    - finish the new purchase setup, get to your desktop
    - now run the migraiton assistant  moving bob from the USB to the new mac
    - reboot, logon as bob, launch configurator and connect just one ipad.  Test

  • How can I make a form where text flows from one line to another?

I have created a fillable multi page form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. The form was originally created in InDesign, using lines for text. I saved as an interactive pdf, opened in Acrobat Pro, and created a form using the "Create Form" function. This worked great, but some parts of the form have multiple lines that need to be filled out, so the customer would continue typing and the type would flow from one line to the next. Right now the lines are individual fields. Can I easily convert these fields so that the text goes from one line to the next as the person filling out the form types?
    Thank you for the help.

The easiest way is to do a slight redesign to get rid of the lines and then use a multiline field instead of multiple single line fields. If you really need to have the lines, you can use an approach that's demonstrated in the following sample: https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=AG6oZ3bi3DYHokxDPeWN7A
You may come across attempts to use JavaScript to automatically move to the next field when the previous one is filled-up, but I've never seen this work very well.

  • Can you copy custom To Do List settings from one project to another?

Using RH9. We created a number of To Do List entries for one of our Robohelp projects that we now want to use in all of our RH projects (File > Project Settings > Manage To Do List for Robohelp Project). Is it possible to copy these entries from one project to another? Or do we need to re-create the list of To Do tasks for each one of our 20+ projects?

    Hi there
The "To Do" list items appear to be stored directly in the ProjectName.XPJ file. So theoretically it would be possible to copy them by opening one XPJ using Windows Notepad, copying them, then opening the target XPJ and pasting. However, this will likely cause a disparity between the XPJ and the .CPD. So before actually opening the project where you are copying them into, you would want to close the project and delete the CPD. Then modify the XPJ and re-open the project. A fresh CPD should then be baked up and things should be in sync.
You might also want to submit a Wish Form to ask for an easier way to transfer custom lists. (link is always in my sig)
    Cheers... Rick

  • How do you transfer Several files and numerous photos from one Mac to another.

I have a Mac Book Pro (late 2011) and a Mac Air (2013).   I know I can airdrop but I would be doing that for days - is there any way to transfer file from one computer to another.

If you want to transfer a large amount of files, the best way would be to use an external drive. If you do not have one, consider the option of using Target Disk mode, so you just have to get a Thunderbolt cable; this is the fastest option.
To use Target Disk mode, connect the Thunderbolt to the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. Then, start up your MacBook Pro and hold the T key while it is starting up until you see the Thunderbolt icon in the display. Now, go to the MacBook Air, open a Finder window and you will see the MacBook Pro hard drive in the sidebar, so access to them and transfer the files you want to.

  • How can I transfer/copy my entire iPhoto library from one iMac to another iMac whilst keeping all the folders and subfolders intact?

We recently purchased a new iMac for our office (8 GB memory, 2.7 processor, version 10.9.2) and we need to copy the iPhoto library from our other iMac (version 10.9.4) onto the new one. The photos are essential for our work and there are around 53,000 of them all organised into folders and subfolders and then the photos are manually ordered within the albums.
We have tried connecting the computers but when we tried to access the iPhoto library on the new iMac it says that iPhoto is locked and we do not have permission to view it. We updated iPhoto on the old iMac as we thought that might be the problem but the message still appears. We've been advised to use an external hard drive but we're worried that will corrupt the organisation of the library. We have also been told not to do it over AirDrop / the Server because of the sheer quantity of photos.
Any advice on how to safely do this would be much appreciated.

No idea exactly what you did
    if you followed the instructions
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
then you have exactly the same thin on your new system that you had on the old
If you do something differently - like import the library instead of simply opening it - then it will not work
did you dimply drag the iPhoto library from the pictures folder of the old machine to the pictures folder of the new machine and then launch iPhoto on the new machine?
and to help it is important to use word correctly since that is the only communications method we have - in iPhoto folders do not contain photos - you view photos in events and you can organize them using albums (which view photos) and folders (which hold either albums or other folders - folders never have photos in them) so your description of the problem is not at all clear since it uses folders incorretly

  • How can I easily transfer file (pdf, doc , xls) from one iPad to another. The files are in iBooks collections?

I have just purchased a new iPad2.  We have an iPad and would like to transfer files that are in iBooks as pdf and doc to the new iPad2 without e-mailing each as a attachment.  Any ideas?

If you're syncing the documents from iBooks to your computer using iTunes, you can just sync them onto your new iPad the same way.
If you don't feel the need to use iBooks, you can use a cloud storage app like Dropbox or a file management app like Goodreader.
