How can you tell if you have a virus on your phone?

I was told there was a virus roaming around in Facebook. I got a junk message on my wall from a riend (who's account has been deactivated for months) about earning money online. She says she didn't send it. And for some reason suddenly I am unable to view my "status comment"  notifications that I received in my message bin. I click on them and I get the option to open them but nothing happens. When the notifications come and I can see some wording of the message in the notification I can open them, but if it says "status comment" I cannot. I have removed and redownloaded FB hoping it will fix it but no luck. And suddenly it's messing with my ringers as well. I get strange notifications even though I have turned them off. My phone is less than 2 months old and FB is the one and only app that I have on my phone. Verizon doesn't seem to know anything about apps and hasn't been able to help me. What if I DID get a virus? I have insurance on my phone. Facebook isn't whats important to me, simply that I want to know who I can ask for help about a general question like a Virus on my brand new phone! Can anyone help?!!?!

There is some issue going on with multiple people related to the Facebook for BlackBerry notifications.  You're not alone in that respect.
Not sure if the issue is with Facebook or the application, but I'm leaning towards Facebook since it's pretty much sucked on my PC the last several days, too.

  • My macbook is slow how can I tell if I have a virus?

My MacBook is slow starting up and slow when I am on internet going to sites.  I read somewhere that there is a adobe flash that is actually some sort of virus?  I beleive I had the pop up and hit install.  How do I fix if this is the problem?

Adobe Flash is not a virus but Flash content is very resource-hungry. Flash developers don't know or care about your hardware or bandwidth, both of which have limitations. Buying a new computer simply so that you can look at Flash-based advertisements makes little sense to me. Just avoid sites that use Flash.
There are no viruses for Mac OS X. Keep it updated with software from Apple using Software Update. Without a more specific description of your hardware, the amount of memory you have installed, what third party system modifications you may have made, and what version of Mac OS X you are using, it is difficult to provide more specific guidance than that.
Read the following to determine if something may apply to your concern:
Do not download or install any product claiming to magically "clean up" or "speed up" or "optimize" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite. If you already did, you found the problem. Fix it.
If you're experiencing general slowdowns or "freezes" unrelated to Internet activity, the problem may be related to your computer or the software you installed and is something you may be able to fix, or at least improve. Aside from hardware failures and software that you install, including OS upgrades, there is no reason that your computer should not work precisely the same as it did when it was new.

  • My computer keeps freezing on me every 15 min do i have a virus I was told when you have mozilla firefox you don't need virus protection is that true and how can I scan if I have a virus and now do i get rid of it?

My computer keeps freezing on me every 15 min do i have a virus I was told when you have mozilla firefox you don't need virus protection is that true and how can I scan if I have a virus and now do i get rid of it? edit

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
There are other things that need attention:
Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks that you should update.

  • How can i tell if i have flashback malware

How can I tell if I have the flashback malware? Will installing the latest security update get rid of the malware /virus and protect my computer?

Here's what I am suggesting as a rudimentary test for some of the known strains of the flashback trojans.  Open a terminal window and copy/paste each of the following lines hitting return after each one and note the results:
    defaults read ~/.MacOSX/environment
    defaults read /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Info LSEnvironment
    ls -la ~/Library/LaunchAgents
    grep "/Users/$USER/\..*" ~/Library/LaunchAgents/*
For the two defaults command if you get anything other than a "does not exist" error message post the results since you are almost certainly infected.
The third command, ls, just lists the contents of your LaunchAgents, if any.  That's additional info to be used in conjunction with the last grep command.  If the grep shows any results then that too may indicate infection and again post its results.

    Thank you Maheshkumar,
I also looked in programs and features.  But wasn't sure if it would be obvious just by at the name - it shows 'Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013 Developer Edition'.
So if it was R2 would it show 'Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013 R2 Developer Edition'?

  • How can I tell if I have 3G or 3GS iPhone?

I just downloaded OS 3.1 so I could use voice control to place a call on my iPhone, but it's not working. Does this only work on the 3GS? I'm not sure if I have the 3G or 3GS, how can I tell?

If you have the Compass App, you have a 3GS.

  • How can I tell if I have Premiere Pro CS4 v401?

I am installing a Black Magic Intensity Pro capture card in my system. How can I tell what version Premiere Pro CS4 I have? I would like to know if I have the latest drivers.
    Thanks
    Art

Took a look at the Premiere Pro splash screen as the program loads; the version number will be displayed. If you don't catch it there, go Help > About Adobe Premiere Pro. And, if you're running anything other than at least 4.2 (the current version is 4.2.1), you'll want to update by selecting Help > Updates.

  • How can I tell if I have an iphone 3G?

Ok yeah I just had an intresting question in my head. I bought an iPhone 3G phone from my AT&T store but it had problems so Apple sent me another iPhone. My only concern is if it is actually an apple iPhone 3G. How can I tell and make sure that they sent me an iPhone 3G?
    Thank you! =)

The back of the original phone is metal - 3g is plastic.
The back of the original is flat - the original is rounded.
The back of the original is silver - the back of the 3g is black or white.
