How change default scan values?

Hi:
Acrobat 9 defaults to 200 dpi image resolution and 11.7 x 17 page size with the Ricoh IS450 scanner I'm using with the Windows WIA driver. These defaults have to be overridden each time I start a new scan, rather than Acrobat 9 remembering the values from the last scan. Trying to use custom presets I get the message that this scanner does not support presets. OK, but why not Acrobat? I searched the Acrobat 7 scripting guide which I have on my local system and there are no objects that access the scanner, evidently (that I could find).

Its quite complex (in my opinion) to do so programically , but using a set of invoke nodes, you can get it done ('Make this value default'). Look at the attached for info (its a large link name, so you may have to copy and paste in your browser).

I've been simply using config.txt files of read and write to set values.

Changing default umask value.

how t ochange the default umask value. umask commands changes the value only for a perticular session. Which file(s) must be modified to alter default umask during boot time. I dont want to write anything in .profice or .bashrc. I want to change the umask before that.

You should be able to set this in the '/etc/default/login' file.
There's an entry for UMASK in there, just uncomment it and set the value to what you need.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, there may be additional files to edit. Check under '/etc/skel', you may see a '.profile', 'local.cshrc', etc... There is an entry for UMASK in those as well, which you may need to change.

Change Default Export Value to Not "Off"

Hi,
I'm using a form for data collection and have multiple checkboxes. I have it set so that the export value of each checkbox is "1" when checked, but I can't figure out how to change their default export values when not checked. The default is "Off," but I'd like it to be "0." Is there a way to do this (possibly using Javascript)?

IMPLIED_SHARE
Sets the default implied shared behavior for the Essbase Server, or for the specified application.
This setting does not apply to aggregate storage databases.
Syntax
IMPLIED_SHARE [app_name] TRUE|FALSEapp_name—Optional. If provided, the setting applies only to the specified application; otherwise, the setting applies to the Essbase Server.
TRUE—Default value. Parent is treated as an implied share because it has only one child or because it has only one child that consolidates to the parent.
FALSE—Never use Implied Share unless explicitly set in the outline.
Notes
If the IMPLIED_SHARE configuration setting is absent from Essbase.cfg, the default setting of TRUE is used.
Application-specific settings overrides any general Essbase Server settings.
Outlines settings (specified using the Outline Editor or through the API) override all Essbase.cfg file settings.
You must stop and restart the Essbase Server for it to read any changes to IMPLIED_SHARE settings made in the configuration file.

How to default the value in Parameter ?

Hi all,
How am I going to default the paramenter say I have the From Item >= '0' and To Item <= '99999999', I will like system to be defaulted back the value in the parameter everytime when the refresh is being pressed ?
Currently, I have set the default value in the parameter, it work fine for the very first time, but after I have put the search value in the refresh button, the system still showing the old value which I have keyed in earlier. I want system to be defaulted the value that I keyed in the parameter. How to do that ?

Are you using Discoverer Plus?
If so, there is a preference in pref.txt that controls whether the parameter values are saved with the workbook. It is called SaveLastUsedParamValue. This has two settings as follows:
0 - Use the default value as set by the report writer
1 - Save the value the user just entered and use that as the default the next time

I have a requirement where I have to make a value default on a fiield on OAF screen which is a dropdown. I have done this defaulting on a LOV field but I am not able to do it on a field which has a dropdown. Can someone please help?

1. If my understanding is correct, you need to default a value in MessageChoice.
2. Do you want the drop down to have a default value for all news rows that you create?
3. Why you are not able to do that? Please explain the behavior.
Default values you can specify in VO Attribute, EO Attribute, VO.createRow(), EO.create(), your AM code where you create a new Row.
Depending on the scenario you can use any of these. Please ensure that you are not setting it to null or some incorrect value before coming to that page.

Ship Confirm Tab: How to default the values?

I am trying to determine if there is a way for me to default the various options on the Ship Confirm screen. ie When I ship confirm a window opens and I can choose if I want to backorder any quantity and what to do with left over quantity? Can I default these values?

Yes, you can do this thru the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR responsibilities. Query the Ship Confrim concurrent program and use the parameter window to default a values.

How to change default scan settings for Preview?

I use Preview to scan my documents. However the default settings for the scan function of Preview are not what I use. I want to be able to change those default settings to I do not have to change them every time I open Preview. Can anybody let me know if it is possible and how to go about setting those?

How to default a value in a select list

I have an item on the page which is displayed as a select list.
The select list has an lov that returns 3 values as follows:
ACAD1M
ACAD2H
ACAD3T
the sql for this lov is as follows:
select CAL_TYPE d,cal_type r
from igs_ca_type
where s_cal_cat='ACADEMIC'
It needs to return the values in the order as shown above, however if the user does not select anything from the select list, I want it to default to the value in the middle of the list(ACAD2H)
I tried using default on the item but I could not get this to work.
Could someone explain how I can get the select list in HTMLDB to default to the value that I want regardless of which position it appears in the select list it always seems to default to the value at the top of the list.

A default value for a select list must be set to a legitimate returned value from the select list LOV query.
The default value should be set in the item "Default" section. In the "Default Value" field you should enter your query – in a form of a PL/SQL Function Body – and set the "Default Value Type" field accordingly.
The following is an example of code I'm using to set the default value of a select list to be the first displayed option (set by the user, and recorded in the dispord column):

where dispord = (select min(dispord)
from mis_mess_users);
return l_sno;
end;Using the same principle, you can use any query that will give you the result you need.

Column not showing up in Change Default Column Values settings

There is a column that appears in the view without a problem but we are not seeing the column in the Library settings "Columnd Default Value Settings" We see other similar columns (single line of text) from the same content type but
we are not seeing this one. I am not sure why and and not really sure how to start troubleshooting this. curious.

Seems strange issue, but i have few questions. What is the type of the column which is missing?
Is this content type is custom one and developed using Visual studio? do you see the same behavior when you try to create from UI(I think you should see same behavior)? did you try creating/developing the content type in other site template?

How to default date values in Selection Screen

I would like to display the 1st day of the previous month into the I_GSTRP-LOW field and the last day of the current month into the I_GSTRP-HIGH field.
For example, this in the 5th month of the year (May), therefore, in the selection screen it should appear like this:

How change default alert in Calendar?

Hello
Because the default sound "Basso" isn't the best alert sound for me I want to change the default sound of Calendar items in Mountain Lion.
I was able to do this in the past, with Lion, but unfortunately this isn't possible anymore I see...
Changing the com.apple.iCal.plist file doesn't help, since this plist file doesn't exist anymore.
And despite what I saw on several websites (see http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/80_os_x_mountain_lion_tips_and_tricks#slid e-3), I can't change this in Calendar neither (see image here below)
I checked the settings in notification centre, where I can choose to have sound alerts for calendar, or not, but cannot adapt the default sound.
Can you please help?

here is a solution that is working for me in 10.9.5 (thanks to Wakko from http://iszene.com/thread-165772-post-1927711.html#pid1927711)
(Make TimeMachine backup)
Quit calendars
Go to ~/Library/Calendars. Here, for each calendar there is a folder with its UUID (i. e. 9C36543C-8BA1-4264-8E3F-C1BB9FB207BE.calendar). To find out what calendar it is referring to open info.plist within it. Chose the calendar's folder you want to change the alarm sound for. It should also be containging the folder /LocalDefaultAlarms with the two files EventAllDayAlarms.icsalarm and EventTimedAlarms.icsalarm. If it does not open calendars and create a test event in that calendar. Go to 2.
Open EventAllDayAlarms.icsalarm and EventTimedAlarms.icsalarm. Find the line ATTACH;VALUE=URI:basso and change basso to the sound you like. I had to place the sound file in /System/Library/Sounds.
(By the way: If you want to change the default hour for alerts for all day events, change TRIGGER:-PT15H accordingly. PT stands for pacific time, -PT15H means 9 AM (15 hours before beginning of the day).)
Reboot
EventAllDayAlarms.icsalarm and EventTimedAlarms.icsalarm are re-created and reset to basso each time calendar prefs are saved. So, in order to prevent overwriting your manual settings accidentally, set them to read only.

I have a table where one of the fields is a selectOneChoice. When adding a row to the table, the new row to be added displays the selectoneChoice field blank. Podcast chronological playlist - how change default?

I have a new iPod nano Gen 7. How do I change a podcast playlist from most recent to oldest. The new iOS plays oldest first which is a change from my old iPod.

When you have the Podcast Settings open, select 'Podcast Defaults' in the dropdown box for 'Settings for:' Podcast Defaults should be at the very top above the list of all your podcasts.
Select 'Do nothing' in the dropdown box for 'When new episodes are available:'
Select 'OK'
