How check/uncheck contents of entire music library ?

I have about 700 tunes in my iTunes library and the little box next to each is currently checked (I assume as a default). Is there a way I can uncheck all of them in one operation (vs doing so individually which would take forever)? I only want to burn a couple to CD. Thank you !

Control-click in one of the boxes. This will un-check them all. However, there's no need to do this. You can't burn from the library itself. Make a playlist of the songs you want to burn to a CD and burn that.

You have two separate questions here...
To get all your music into one playlist, select Music in the sidebar and click the Songs view at the top. Then, highlight all the songs and drag them into your playlist.
I don't know if it's possible to download all Purchased content (or do you mean iTunes Match content?) at once; try a few Google searches.

While backup up to a cloud service (iCloud, Google, Amazon, Microsoft OneDrive, ...) is possible, most people still seem to prefer using a suitable external drive for this. Even though iTunes Match provides a service to store your library online, its neither designed nor suitable as a reliable backup. A cloud backup is either going to be replicated to a local disc anyway, or would be far slower that physical storage for backup and retrieval - plus you might want or need to restore from a backup when your internet connection is down. Sufficient cloud storage for even a moderately large library is going to be expensive!

How do I share my entire music library with my other computers?

Only a subset of my library is listed under my Shared Library. I have tried changing the settings under Preferences: Sharing to include the Entire Library, as well as dragging and dropping the contents of the entire Library into the Shared Library. Still, only a small subset is in the "named" Shared file. Help!

How do I download my entire music library in iTunes to not be in iCloud?

I have over 10,000 songs in my iTunes library. 18 months ago, I signed up for iTunes Match, but cancelled the service, however, my songs all show as being in iCloud. How do I download them all from iCloud to my Mac. Why do they still show as in iCloud if I no longer have that service? I just bought a new iPhone 6 and selected a couple of playlists that on my phone show as being in the cloud. I could click the iCloud download button but there are about 2000 songs. Any help would be appreciated.

If you cancelled your iTunes Match subscription, you will not be able to download your music except for previous iTunes purchases.

I usually purchase everything directly from my ipod and I use the "purchased" playlist alot to keep track of recent songs. I found that when I sync it deletes it. Is there any way to sync the library without changing the playlists on my ipod?

How do I restore my entire music library from Match to my computer? I had a system failure and have had to restore everything. iTunes shows clouds next to songs; do I need to download each one individually? I've tried and some download, and others do not and honestly this would be very tedious.

To download more than one track at at time highlight the tracks you want to download, right-click and choose "download." However, this is not the most efficient way to restore an iTunes library. You should restore your personal data from the backups you make to an external HDD. You do make backups, don't you?

There is a checkbox above those two options for how to sync. It says Sync Music; it enables automatic syncing. That box needs to be checked before you can select from the two options for how automatic syncing is performed.
NOTE: If the iPod is current set up to Manually manage music [and videos], checking that Sync Music box replaces its current content with content from your iTunes library, based on how automatic syncing is set up on that screen.
So, if your goal is to add ONE playlist to an iPod that is managed manually, you do not want to do this because iTunes will erase the iPod's current content and replace it with just that ONE selected playlist (and whatever else you select on that Music settings screen).
Instead, if the iPod currently uses the manual setting, you need to add playlists manually to the iPod (not use the automatic syncing setting). Please post back with more details about your situation.

I am trying to sync my iphone with itunes music and have selected 'entire music library', which shows a large amount of potential music data to be transferred. Trouble is after sync, the bar shrinks back to just the content of one particular Playlist!?

Please can anyone help? I am trying to sync my iphone music with itunes, but am finding that as soon as the sync is complete the data bar shrinks back from almost full (my entire music library) to just 100 songs, which happen to be the contents of one playlist I have. i cannot seem to change the music content on my phone no matter what? thank you randers4, unfortunately these restrictions aren't to blame. Now I realise the problem - I tried to play some of the music and found out that the source data wasn't attached. The computer was rebuilt and backed up - and it seems perhaps hasn't all been copied back. I am currently attempting to copy accross some itunes files from my backup drive. Bit confused, too many itunes files of different types but fingers crossed getting closer to the solution......?

If you are running an OS of 5.0 or higher, you should be able to use the iCloud to sync both devices together & share music.
