Is there any issue with JavaFX? or I have to do something else?It's likely an issue with your application code (though it could be a bug in the JavaFX platform too).
Either way debugging most memory issues in JavaFX (except for ones the graphics card texture related) is the same as debugging them in Java - so just use standard Java profiling tools to try to track down any memory leaks you have.

"Cleaning" the memory of an old iBook

I upgraded to a MacBook and don't need my old iBook anymore (yes I am sure I have all the files off of it). As I either want to sell it or donate it I want to clear off the personal files. What is the best way to do this? I don't really want to undo the operating system -- but I guess I could just reinstall it?

You can't "clean" RAM. If the "storage" space on your hard drive isn't enough then put in a larger hard drive or delete any of your data you no longer need or can store on an external drive. Beyond this I cannot say because you have not provided enough information such as the amount of installed RAM, Capacity of your hard drive and the amount of available space on the hard drive, the specific iMac model you have.
You can try reinstalling Lion:

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) Why do you want to "clear the memory"? That is not needed. Measure the workload of each method and use that to determine which has the lowest workload. Messing with memory and measuring elapsed time are flawed.
You can clear Oracle's buffer cache in order to make both queries use physical I/O.. but what about the file system cache? The data can be cached there.. Therefore one query can be lucky and its Oracle physical I/O is in fact logical I/O from the file system cache, whereas the other query's physical I/Os as seen by Oracle are indeed physical.
Measurement and benchmarking using elapsed time is dangerous.. as it is a complex issue that needs one to understand all aspects and moving parts involved. You cannot merely tinker with Oracle's "memory" and expect that to create a level playing field for comparing and benchmarking queries.

That's the problem with mp3 player song amount listings. They pretty much always use the worst quality bit rate possible for examples. I only have 40 or so on my 6gb, and it's already half full. It also depends on the time. I think they usually use 3 minutes per song to calculate it. Unfortunately, it sounds like you'll need a new player. You can't, and don't need to, zero an SSD in Disk Utility. Once you've erased it the data is unrecoverable.

First of all, as a rule you should have two backups before you do anything else. (most don't, and it's up to you).
I would have one backup done as a Time Machine backup on an external disk, which you will use to import all settings, data and apps to your new MBA via Setup Assistant on your very first boot of the new machine.
Second, I would have prepared, a bootable backup done via Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper on a second external disk. This you can use for unforseen problems that might be evident on the Time Machine backup (hey it happens).
After you have these two items in preparation, then use the original system disk or flash drive to reformat and reinstall the original operating system to the old machine, cleanly. After that, it is ready for sale. If the unit is not an SSD equipped MBA, you can perform a secure wiping of the disk when you perform the reformatting.
To reiterate.... You need a good Time Machine Backup as a source for you setting up the new Mac with Setup Assistant.

The PlayBook manages memory through the OS, there's no 'memory cleaner' like on the BlackBerry phones.
In the browser, there are settings to clear cache, cookies and history which do improve the browser performance.
You may want to try and change the PlayBook multitasking mode. Go into Settings - General and change 'Application Behaviour'. Showcase is full multitasking (slower), Paused pauses all programs when minimised and makes the PlayBook save battery and run a little faster.

You can clean the vents on your notebook.
Buy a can of compressed air. Essentially, you need to gently blow out the vents with the compressed air to clear out the dirt and dust. You need a can with a small straw like attachment for the nozzle so you can point it directly toward the vents.
Do take a look at this document first so you know which way to point the air and how to avoid damaging the fan inside the notebook.
