How clear backlog of notifications

EBS: 11.5.10.2
DB: 10.2.0.4
Platform: linux 4u5 32-bit
We've configured "Oracle Workflow Notification Mailer" successfully in our TEST instance. Now we are planning to move to Production instance. Before starting I run $FND_TOP/sql/wfver.sql script and got following result:
sqlplus apps/******** @wfver.sql;
WF_DEFERRED messages ready:2351236, processed:0
WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT messages ready:3, processed:0
WF_ERROR messages ready:381746, processed:0
I just want to ask is:
Does this huge number of ready events will give any performance issue if I enable workflow in production? How can I know the actual backlog of notifications which will trigger on enabling OWF Mailer. Please advise.

If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
Try these options:
* Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
* View Messages > Saved Messages

Hi,
The ideal scenario is that you don't notify a user - you notify a role instead. Roles don't get sick, get made redundant, retire, leave etc. etc. - however, it's easier said than done.
Although it's probably not supported, I can see no harm in doing a direct table update on WF_NOTIFICATIONS to modify the recipient role. However, I would question the logic of keeping old notifications in the system - if you run the standard purge routines (and you should be!), then that will clear out the old notifications automatically.
Additionally, I would be wary of reassigning old notifications - it would blow the audit trail completely if you move a closed notification between users (which is why there is no API for it). If Bill approved a purchase order for £1 million, and then left, I would expect (and need!) the history to shown exactly who did it, rather than a completely different user.
I'd be astounded if Oracle does anything with any enhancement requests for Workflow any more, even if they were for things that made sense.

How to send email notification in different languages in Workflow? Can anyone send me some useful guidelines or link where it is mentioned.

There is no profile option available to specify whether send or not send email notification.
But after login, in preferences youcan set the notification preference value by which you can configure whether to send or not
to send email notifications.
If you select ''Do not send me mail' or 'Disabled' it will not send.
For other values it sends the notfication in different formats like text, html, attachments etc...

does anybody know how to suppress the notification email that is sent from the contribution step (auto-contribute) of a criteria workflow. Now the user doing the checkin gets an email about the start of a workflow.

few comments:
- what is the step type of your 3rd step? Is it Review or Review/Edit-New Revision?
If just Review, what happens if you change it to Review/Edit Revision or Review/New Revision?
- calling just the UPDATE_DOCINFO service does not explain neither sending the email, nor changing the current step. What might be an explanation is calling a CHECKIN service in a Review step (the engine might be confused and 'restart' the workflow as it would not know whether a new, or current revision should be updated)
Well, actually there could be one reason: updating the security group
From whatever reason, criteria workflows are designed in such a way that security group is the mandatory parameter. This means that changing the security group might actually mean that the content item is in a wrong workflow (I was just about to ask "why on earth do you call UPDATE_DOCINFO in a Java?' and this came to my mind - custom metadata might be updated directly in iDocScript via wfUpdateMetaData http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10726/c06_core_ref.htm#i1067045 ). If that's the case, you might have to re-design the whole stuff.

We've activated workflow template WS28700001 so that email notification can be triggered when task release. Meanwhile we are using snapshot and simulation at the same time. But when saving sanpshot or simulation the tasks which have status of released also trigger email nofitication. How to cancel this notification of snapshot and simulation?

I need to use my iPad to show some videos at work. I am showing videos to large crowds in an auditorium. How do I prevent notifications/reminders from stopping the playback of my video?

Seems like there should be a global Notifications switch to turn all off temporarily when watching video or for other situations where you don't want to be interrupted. It is crazy/very unfriendly to have to individually adjust each notification item every time a non-interrupt situation arises.

I'm not sure why these folks are having trouble understanding your request. I will dumb it down for them. Is there an option to have the iPhone only provide me with notifications when I'm not on the phone. Having my $800ish phone buzz and interrupt my phone conversation (after all primary function of this iPhone is being a phone) to let me know one of my Facebook friends has challenged me to a game of words with friends. I don't want my iPhone to not notify me at all. It can notify me after the call (again primary function) is complete. Going through menus and turning off notifications all together is absolutely silly. I wouldn't want to have to navigate through the menus and turn them off and then on an then off just to make or receive a phone call. Could you imagine answering you phone with, "hey, just wait I have to turn my notifications off so I can have this conversation." every time you wanted to talk on the phone.
So yeah. Again not sure why they were having trouble with understanding you. I hope this helps clarify it for them.

That is correct, I spoke with apple and they told me it's one or the other depending on which one you are actively using at the time. I think it would be very useful to have your phone still vibrate along with your watch, as I've noticed I don't feel the watch most times, even with the prominent touch selection on (i.e. when i'm driving) Then you'd be able to know you got a message or notification from your phone vibrating and then could check the watch, although there would be a second or two delay like when you receive a phone call.

1) Goto QMEL table read OBJNR of the notification.
2) Pass the notification number and the language to the function module "STATUS_TEXT_EDIT".
in the return parameter read the parameter LINE, based on the first four characters you can find out the status of the notification.
OSNO - Outstanding notification
NOPR - Notification in process
NOCO - Notification completed

Hi,
You need to define an item type, then define a process within the item type, then define a message and a notification. Include the notification in the Workflow process, and draw transitions from the start node to the notification and then from the notification to the end.
Depending on who you want to notify, you may or may not need to include an additional step to dynamically determine who the recipient should be. You then need to set the recipient on the notification - either to the attribute holding the dynamically determined approver, or the static value.
Save the workflow definition to the database and flat file, then test it.
