Check Settings > General > Usage to display what's taking all your space.

Settings/General/About/Available will tell you how much free storage you have. From memory you need at least 1.4 GB or so to update to iOS 7 over WiFi (I strongly suggest you have more than that, 2-3 GB is safer for the iOS 7 upgrade).
If you have problems freeing up enough space on your phone then update it via iTunes instead, that's both more likely to work without issues and doesn't require all that free space on the phone to start with.

It says I cloud total storage 5.0 GB available 5.0 GB so whats the problem?iCloud storage is for backups. It is not associated with space on your phone. You cannot buy more space for your phone. Check what you have on your phone and delete what you don't use or seldom use to get more space on your phone.

skype keeps saying “not enough storage is available to process this command”I am running XP sp3 with iexplorer v8. I have tried all the supposed fixes i can find here. Including delete shared.xml and changing The IRPStackSize parameter. I have reinstalled skype and iexplorer many times. I have used skype for many years but now it is broke.Very sad that I can't get it working again.

Hello, when ios 7 came out I could not download it because I didn't have enough storage so I did not stress it. The next week I plugged my iphone in my laptop and it downloaded ios 7 and ever since then my iphone 4 will not let me take pictures, download apps, nothing and it keeps popping up not enough storage available, you can either buy more or delete some. So I deleted A LOT of my apps and pictures and contacts but still even with four apps on my phone it won't let me do anything. Does anyone know why? And I do not want to buy more storage because I am going to upgrade my phone this summer but still its very annoying, can anyone help me please? And thank you !!!
That's iCloud storage that it's talking about
Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup.
Odds are what you see here will show a very small amount as "Available."

I try to download my 176 songs back to my phone but when i hit download, it says not en stoarge and deletes everything. This started when i synced my music from my computer to my phone and. now i cant get anything to work without the message poping up.

There is your problem.
Why on Earth did you install MacKeeper??? Get rid of it and do NOT use zeobit's uninstaller. It will make things worse.

This message is displayed when there is not enough storage space available in your iCloud Storage to complete your backup. You can either reduce the amount of data you are backing up under Backup Options, or you can buy more storage.

Every time I try to update the 4s or 4 it is saying not enough storage. I am really hating this phone now because I am not going to buy storage. We have 5 iPhones on our account and now because of iCloud it does this.
your iCloud storage isnt part of your phone, that is a back up for your phone, you have to delete things on your phone, so I recommend backing up your photos to your computer or iCloud since im sure thats whats taking up all your storage, then delete the photos on your phone and then update your phone using iTunes on your computer.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

My iPhone says "Not Enough Storage" but when i tap on "Close" or "Settings", nothing happens. It's as if I never tapped on it. The buttons work but the pop-up just won't go away. I've got 25GB storage on iCloud with 18.3GB available but when I'm trying to download anything, it's saying not enough storage available. The cloud is for storing your backups (which will then allow you to restore your content back on to a device), to download content on your iPad you need enough available space on your actual iPad : Settings > General > About > Available.
If you aretrying to download an app then you generally need approximately twice its size to be able to download and install it. -
