How come "pacman -Syu" usually shows a negative next upgrade size?
I'm used to updates being bigger than the original, or at least equal in size.
The past half year, all my updates on different systems have usually been decreasing in size. I don't think pacman deletes old versions of packages in its cache unless I explicitly do that myself.
So, how come?

How do you mean it isn't showing the external drive? If you mean on the desktop, click Finder on the menu bar, Preferences, General and check the boxes for Show these items on the desktop - make sure hard drives is checked.
If you mean it is not showing in Finder or Disk Utility, make sure it is turned on, reboot and see if that mounts it so it shows up. -

How come it doesn't show how much money there is left in my iTunes gift card? I have tried putting in the code more than once, but all my tablet says is that the card has already been redeemed.
I haven't got access to the server right now (so I can't provide the complete details), but something like 6-700 GB (which is more than it shows in the client time machine windows, but less than what is true (which was around 1,5 TB))

Hi, Did you work out a fix for this? All my calender dates (past & future) and the last 12 months of new contacts gone!!!! And yes i too back up regularly.
Previously when the great 5 upgrade happened, i did loss everything, and although I was doing backups none of that info was relative in an English way. A whole life of important, unreplaceable information gone! Never to be found.
All of my products are apple, but it seems that little people dont matter to them, with no recourse for the damage to my personal or professional life.
Extremly disappointed again! -

How come "Excel" does NOT show up in the Interactive Rpt- Rpt Attribute?
Hi,
I'm building an Interactive Report. And I'd like to have both "CSV" and "Excel" formats as download format options. Based on the tutorial, these options should be in the Interactive Report -> Report Attribute -> Download so that developer can configure it accordingly for the end user.
Q1) However Excel format is NOT one of the download format options (see below). I'm using ApEx 3.2 with 11g database and HTTP server.
Q2) How do I configure the CSV format so that each row will show up in ONE single line vs. being concatenated together? Download option only allows us to configure for "CSV Separator" and "CSV Enclosed By".

"All" is pretty comprehensive. And if you have truly tried "all" there is no chance of ever making it work - by definition. So we can't really give you any advice.
If you tell us what you have tried perhaps someone can think of something you missed. As a start, have you reviewed the Kbase articles on the subject?

"The text you provide becomes the email address ([email protected]). An alias must contain between 3 and 20 characters."
This certainly implies that the alias is not required to be your registered name, and only becomes the prefix for a new @me.com address. There might be something going on with the servers right now as they are probably very focused on getting ready for the iPhone 5 pre-order release, which is supposed to happen any minute now. You might have better luck if you waited a while. -

ideas anyone?My understanding thus far is that each App purchase is tied to only the xact Apple ID that was used to purchase it. So supposedly if you change your Apple ID those Apps bought on the Old Apple ID are not transferable to a new Apple ID. The reason for this would be that otherwise people could endlessly share their purchased Apps with other Users with different Apple ID's, who would not have to pay for the use of the Apps.

Using two separate Chase Visas, Apple Oay is working fine but the transaction list is very generic. It lists time, date, city, state and two dashes where amount should be. Shouldn't it at least show the name of the store and the amount?
Hi. I don't know if this will help, but I had this problem too. Mine quit working after I used earbuds. I was told that there is a switch inside the earbud port that tells the device to divert sound to earbuds. This can get "stuck" and the device keeps thinking the earbuds are plugged in. After reinserting the earbuds a few times, the switch was released and my speakers started working again.
I'm not a techie.... this is just what I found to work after my iPhone 4S speakers quit. -

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

I don't understand this, as I always installed new kernels with pacman up until now. How come pacman won't update my system all of a sudden?

Even though both packages may work on 2.6.26.
No, that dependency is correct, these two packages only work with kernel 2.6.25. In the general case, modules need to be rebuilt against a newer version of the kernel, and these packages had not yet been rebuilt at that time.
But even without mentioning that, they don't even install in the same location : /lib/modules/2.6.25-ARCH vs /lib/modules/2.6.26-ARCH
That is why it is not recommended to use the testing repository unless you want your system to break periodically.
That is correct.
Users using testing should be the ones helping out (on bug tracker, forum, mailing list, etc), not the ones asking for help... -

I have this errors......my kernel version is the 2.6.21-ARCH, maybe is this the reason? How can I upgrade the kernel?

If it is now owned by a package you can safely force the package to install with 'pacman -Sf kernel26'
If the files are owned by a package then there they are conflicting and the path to follow will be different for each situation.
If you are not sure what to do post here which package (if any) owns the files.
