How come pc's get viruses and not macs?

i'm thinking of either getting a macbook or macbook pro, and moving away form PC (finallllyyyyy!!).
and i was just wandering if someone could tell me how macs don't seem to get viruses (as apple claims) and PCs do.
also what software does mac use for firewall, anti-virus and spyware? does it all come in pre-installed and ready to work?

There are many reason Macs don't get viruses ranging from the kernel design and required user authentication to install something. Ultimately, Mac OS X is a far more difficult target not to mention Mac OS X also makes it very difficult to propagate viruses which is just as important as the virus itself.

The firewall is included and just needs activation. I don't personally use any anti-virus although I do have virus filtering on my mail server. If I did want anti-virus I'd use ClamAV. As for anti-spkyware, don't need that.

go to 'Edit' in the menu bar. Then choose 'Preferences'.
you'll see a pop-up and there's a tab called 'Devices' there. If you click that, you will be able to check a box that says 'prevent automatic syncing for iPods, iPads and iPhones' or something like that.

NB: if you don't even see the menu bar that has options like 'File, Edit, View, etc', first click the black/white square button on the top left of your screen, and then click 'show menu bar'. It should pop right up.

Baiscally the problem is that one comuter and one account has always been sued for eey persons itunes. option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. You can't reformat it and not wipe everything on it.
Have you tried a different USB port?

Try this:
On all impacted devices, go to settings, messages, send & receive and place a checkmark next to only those phone numbers and email addresses listed you want that device to recognize.

Confirming and expanding on what RG said, not only is iTunes is not available for Android devices, it cannot sync to an Android device if you have iTunes running on a Windows or Mac system. You'll need to use the download stores provided for Android devices, and if you have music downloaded from the ITunes Store on a computer, whatever synchronization method Samsung provides for getting the music to your Galaxy.

You can't delete either the account or the email address. If you are getting messages to it you don't want to see, go to http://icloud.com and to the Mail page: click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Rules'. Then set up a Rule to move all messages to your address to the Trash.

Im suspicious because I went to a site that i cant remember and it took a long time to load, then was a aadvertisement that look like a app introduction in app store, i accidenally clicked the download button so i quickly closed the window after 2 seconds of loading.

There are no known viruses that can affect or infect a non-jailbroken iOS device. If it has not been jailbroken you cannot alter or write to the operating system. So that should not be a worry for you.
There are websites that have some nasty behavior and will try and capture information or leave things like cookies behind that affect your web browser. With iOS, again, there isn't much to worry about. And stopping a download before it finished should leave you in good condition.
You can always, if things get strange, restore your system from a clean backup if you have backed up to iCloud or iTunes on a computer. You can go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Settings which will leaver your apps intact but clear your settings, which you will have to go back and make sure you have your WiFi, etc set correctly, but that isn't necessary unless you start seeing a lot of strange behavior.
Clean up operation easily by doing a reboot - hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
The bonus question - I don't do gaming so cannot offer any help with that issue.
