How come some of my older music that I downloaded before does not play anymore?

I changed my Apple ID to a more current email address and my name to my name instead and I don't know if this is the cause as to why I can't listen to some older music I bought with the original Apple ID.

HT4623 How do i update an older ipad's IOS? It does not want to connect to server.

How do I update an older IPAD? When I go to update it gives me a message regarding it cannot connect to the apple server, yet internet service is okay.
I have also checked to see if itunes is listed in program to accept through the windows firewall. All of this is good. Any suggestions?

Why is music that was there last week, not there anymore?

Last week i bought some music videos from the Australian Music Store.
Specifically POD, Tribute and Wonderboy by Tenacious D. I showed my friend who also has an iPod and he wanted to buy them too.
However, now they are missing from the iTunes Store, like they never existed.
Can someone explain to me the mechanics of how and why of this?

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

How come the nano has a fm tuner and the touch does not?

There's really nothing more anyone here can say. Apple did not choose to include an FM radio tuner in the iPod touch, for reasons that we do not know but that undoubtedly made sense to them. You can express your interest in such a feature in future iPod touch models via Apple's feedback pages:

HT201250 How do you let time machine know that a restored drive does not need a brand new backup set and just append to the old one?

I had an external drive failure and had to buy a brand new drive. I was able to restore my info onto a new drive, about 1.5 TB of data. When I go to launch time machine now with the new drive connected and my backup connected, it treats the new drive as if it had different data and wants to create a whole new backup set when it should just append. How do I get around this?
I could just reformat the backup drive and start fresh again but would rather not do that if I can avoid it, just in case there were errors in copying etc.

I should have been more clear, sorry. I work from a laptop. I have 2 external drives - one for my projects which failed but has since been replaced and restored from a backup. My 2nd external drive is the time machine backup drive.
When my project drive crashed, I bought a brand new drive and restored it using my time machine backup drive.
Now the data exists on 2 drives - the time machine backup drive, and the new drive. When I connect the backup drive now, it thinks my new drive has new data, probably since it is a new device/drive, and wants to do a brand new backup, when in fact the data already exists on that very drive. It shouldn't have to back up all 1.5 TB when nothing has changed!
Unless there is a way to tell time machine to simply append to the old backup, I think it will try and do a new backup (1.5 TB). I'm thinking maybe I should just initialize my time machine backup drive now and start over so it is only one backup set of 1.5 TB instead of (2) sets of 1.5 TB!

How come the Ipad mini has Siri and the ipad 2 does not, they have the same chip

I was comparing the ipad modles and the ipad mini and ipad 2 are the same just smaller but the ipad 2 does not have Siri...

The iPad 2, from reports I consider reliable, lacks the special noise-cancelling circuitry necessary for Siri and included in the newer iPad models.

A podcast that I subscribe to does not work anymore.

I have been listening to the podcast for a while now and as of 5 days ago it quit getting new episodes. When I try to manually update the podcast I get an error that states "The network connection was refused", but I can get on the internet just fine. I can browse to the page of the podcast and I can get the podcast on a different pc running itunes. I can even get podcasts from different subscriptions on the machine that is having the problem. I have tried deleting the subscription and re-subscribing, uninstalling and re-installing itunes by the directions provided by Apple, and I have used a packet sniffer to see if itunes even tries to connect (it doesn't). I am at my whits end. Can someone please help. Thanks.

I have updated to Mountain Lion and now the music on NetHymnal does not play.

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and now the music on the NetHymnal site does not play. There doesn't seem to be a problem with the sound on other sites. There is a statement that a plugin is missing but I can't determine what plugin is missing.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

Also check to make sure the Album Artist is the same for all tracks (in itunes on teh computer). Aslo check the Music app to see if you are sorting by Album Artist (its under Other on the menu bar at the bottom of the screen).

I understand you are having issues with a few tracks in iTunes. The best troubleshooting step may be to delete the song from your library, and re-download using iTunes in the Cloud (if available in your country).

1. Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
2. Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
