How come the pics I take with my iPhone are all turned into jibberish?
Ever since I upgraded the OS on my iPhone 3GS to version 4, I have a weird problem. When I take a picture and try sending it to someone who's on a PC, it asks me "You can reduce message size by scaling the image to one of the sizes below", which it never did before. I then have to choose between small, medium, large, and original. Whichever size I choose, the person who gets the email get nothing but pages after pages of letters, like "AAIAAAGAAAkgEOSSABAEEgn", and so on. I restored my iPhone and copied everything back from my backup, but to no avail. Still the same problem. And I did a test with a video. Same result. If I send the file to someone with a Mac, no problem. By the way, my iPhone has never been jailbroken. Any idea what's going on?
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

Just to be clear, photos can not be accessed directly from iCloud.com.
Be sure you are signed into iCloud on your Mac with the same Apple ID as your iPhone and Photos is checked:
System Preferences > iCloud
Then be sure My Photo Stream is checked in iPhoto:
In iPhoto > Preferences > iCloud -

You can't do anything to get service in your country by Apple, the warranty is only valid in the country where the phone has been bought.
If you can't bring it back to the USA, you'll have to get it checked by an experienced 3rd party repair shop, but this will void the warranty, and Apple will not service the device anymore, even if you want to pay for it. -
Some of the photo I take with my iphone will not get saved into my photo stream. Some of these photos were taken while the iphone was connected to the wifi, but did not get saved. Other photos were while not on wifi and they seem to get saved. I have not narrowed down what is the difference between those photos that get saved and those that don't get saved. Is there a way to force a photo to get saved? I would like to be able to access these photos from all my devices.
I also have an issue with the photo stream on my PC getting updated. I have photos in the photo stream that is updated on my Ipad and iphone. However, these photos are not getting updated on the PC. Everything seems to be set up on the icloud and photos stream for the PC.
Thanks,That is the way it is designed to work. If you want the photos on your Mac on your new iPhone, you can sync them with iTunes.

How can I transfer video taken with my iPhone to my iPad WITHOUT using a computer or iTunes? I'm going to Europe for a month and want to use my iPhone to take pics and video, then come back to the hotel room and use my iPad to edit/store each evening. I don't want to use my iPad to take the video...too large/bulky. And I WON'T have a computer with me...I purchased the iPad to take with me so I could use the RDC to my home computer and avoid taking my computer at all. Is this possible?
here is a cheaper solution than camera kit and a lot easier if you have WIFI available.
I use the PhotoSync APP (I think its a $1.99) will transfer videos and photos over WIFI to any other IOS device or even PC/MAC. Great app since I like doing video and photos on my IPHONE and transfer to IPAD2 without synching through computer or doing cloud based storage.
You can even send photos/videos from your MAC/PC to your IOS devices that way too. Makes it so much easier.

How come the volume of other programs are lowered while one FaceTime? I exchange media with friends and colleagues and I can barely hear anything. There should be a way we can manually control the volume of different programs
I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

When I save a photo from iMessage to my camera role, how come the saved photo is not available to edit with iPhoto on my iPhone?
I tapped a photo in Messages to vie it full screen.
Tapped the Share icon and saved it to my camera roll.
Opened iPhoto for iOS and my image library updated. After the update I could see the image in my camera roll. I selected the amera roll, then tapped the image I had copied from Messages. I was able to edit the photo with no problem.
Did you follow this same procedure or ry to copy the little thumbnail photo from Messages? -
How come when I try to restore my iPhone 4 GSM (factory unlocked) with itunes, it starts ok, then at 60% blocks like for about 5 min, then continues till 100% and itunes give error msg (-1) ??? what can be the problem.

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

The system is back up and fully functional. How long has it been since you stopped receiving notifications? Can you share your form with us so we can have a look into what might be going wrong?

Have you selected an image?
Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

i did the ios 5 upgate for my iphone 4 and can no longer view the pics i take in the camera app or camera roll in photos. nothing lets me see them the page just goes to no photos or video but i can see the last pic i took in the little box in the corner in the camera. does anyone know how to fix this problem and make it work normal again. thanks
Try a reset of the device by pressing and holding the home and power button for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

I recently upgraded to iOS 8. Looks like the pics I had in my messages are no longer appearing as pictures, rather they are appearing as JPEG files (not broken jpegs). I need to get these pics. Can't figure out how to do it. I'm on an iPhone 5C.
I've tried resetting my phone, looking for the pics in the new 'deleted' folder. I tried forwarding the jpegs to sees if they'll appear in a new message (but turnout the phone won't let me forward these pics). Apple is trying to say it's the 30 day reason, but I know that is not the problem. ALl of my pics older than 30 days were viewable. It is the upgrade that screwed this up. Help! As for iPhoto, it sounds like you were trying to move files around in the library. That is a bib no-no in Aperture or iPhoto. -

I have been having issues with edited tracks from Toast/CD Spin Doctor that I send to my iTunes library, so that I might burn them onto a CD at a later date.
For example, when I try to hear my 3:42 edited track of a tune I had just sent over from Spin Doctor to iTunes, instead of hearing 3:42 of the "edited track", I only hear the first 3:42 of the raw "unedited" track. In other words, if my raw Spin Doctor file had 20 seconds of silence before the track started, I would hear that first 20 seconds in my iTunes file instead of the edited file.
Personally, I think Apple needs to allow us Mac users to have a "download previous version" option when serious bugs like this appear on the updates. Seems they give Windows users links to older versions, but for us Mac users, they make it hard for us to easily find older versions. I feel like I'm being held hostage waiting for the next version, or patch.
And when I try to report the issue to Apple, when I go to the "What version of iTunes are you using?", they still don't have version 10.3 listed in their pulldown menus (as of 7/7/11).
If you want me to plunk down money for Lion, then you better get my iTunes back to where I could use it again.
Sorry for the rant, I've been in a major vinyl transfer-to-CD groove in the last month, and this just ruins my momentum. Apple has really disappointed me. -
