how do you get the songs (with exclamation marks next to them) on to the iPOD?

Songs with exclamation marks next to them usually indicate that iTunes can no longer locate the files in their original location. This can happen if you have moved folders/files on your computer.
Your best bet is to delete these songs from the iTunes library, locate them on your computer and then reimport them into iTunes. They can then be transferred to the iPod.

I was delighted when I signed up for Pages. Clunky yes, but it worked. I've been a graphic designer on a Mac for 25 plus years and have logged too many horror stories of "upgrade" wars which cost me massive lost time, data and money forcibly extracted just so I could finish a project.
When I first used Pages in April of 2012? or there about, I was able to open Word documents exported to .pdf format, emailed to me, which I then dragged into Pages. I could make the changes I needed to make, export as a .pdf, return it back to my client which they could then edit on whatever it was they were using. I'm not a neophyte with this. I've had Original Photoshop as a stand alone, Quark (which locked users out 6 months after I purchased it.) Quark again, Freehand, Pagemaker, Illustrator, Photoshop again, Creative Suite for several upgrades, Acrobat Pro. 2 years ago I lost 6 years of Quicken data and had to and "upgrade" start over. This last go around I had to "upgrade" my Apple ID - yes I had 2 on purpose, lost my Pandora One and my ability to get into the Tulsa County Library website.
At this point, I'm retired and feel like what I've paid for in the past should WORK today. I have a 100+ page cookbook in Quark which I was able to export as a .pdf, that I've lost the tags too, Easier to start over. I have artwork that is hundreds of megs in Photoshop. Not the least bit interested in anybody's "cloud".
Thanks for letting me vent. I'm determined to keep my equipment and software up to date so I can enjoy the skills I've acquired, but I completely cringe at Apple's antics. I truly hate it when I have to respond to some new "tip" or product offer. BooHiss. Happy Turkey Day. Pages is a "turkey" program.

How come Apple won't fix what they broke?

It has been a while back but I sent my iPod video 60gb back to apple to get it fixed under its warranty. My iPod could not be repaired so they replaced it. Now it is broken and I think it's a logic board issue. Apple will not fix it because the warranty is expired. Apple wants to charge an arm and a leg to repair it instead of fixing THEIR mistake. This infuriates me. I even consider sending all of my Apple products back demanding a refund. They have terrible customer service and I would never recommend another apple product. Any suggestions because I'm sure they won't reply to this message?

ADFUtils + JSFUtils ... how come they're not in the base JDev release?

A question came up from a client the other day, is how come ADFUtils and JSFUtils that appear in many of the Oracle JDev demos aren't included in the base JDev release? They seem like such obvious things to include in a base ADF Faces/RC project and for Oracle to expand upon, yet we currently have to "steal" the code for our own projects and include them.
What are others' thoughts on this? Do you find these 2 classes indispensable for ADF Faces/RC development?

Ah, the ugly can of Java annotation worms. Sure you want to open it? ;)
Personally I'd love to see annotations introduced to masively reduce the complexity of Java JSF beans, and also the Java ADF BC side.
One of the bits I see students really struggle with when teaching JDev is the unnecessary exposed Java methods in the ADF BC classes, such as the EntityImpl getAttrInvokeAccessor, setAttrInvokeAccessor, createPrimaryKey. Beginner non Java students really can only think about objects like POJOs, they struggle when they see lots of framework code added. As such hiding the detail using annotations should in theory make this eaiser.
Regards the backing beans and injecting the binding container, iterator etc. I note between JDev 10.1.3 when it first came out, we were injecting bindings via the faces-config.xml file. This worked badly because new users struggled with getting the config file entries exactly to match the backing bean properties and accessor names.
Then ADFUtils + JSFUtils came along which meant no injection was required, but now people are struggling with what to cast the result to (using something like JSFUtils.resolveExpression). As they don't inherently know the binding classes, what to cast to becomes a problem. The IDE doesn't help with this at all either.
As such with the annotation approach, this would be better as the annotation would take care of returning the correct binding classes. This would take us to the next level. Also as the IDE would inherently know which binding class, then users would be better off in understanding the binding layer classes and which methods to call thanks to the code completion facilities. Of course it means someway of associating a backing bean with a particular page such that the BB knows which binding container to get, which iterators to include etc, and if the binding names are changed in the page def, the BB would automatically change its names (I figure you'd have to do this for beginners, otherwise they'd get confused).
However, I think there is still a need for ADFUtils and JSFUtils even with annotations because there will be times where you want to do something that isn't provided by the annotations.

How come they still haven't fixed the ios 6 wifi problem on ios 6.0.1 making me mad -.-

I know apple or the tech support doesn't read this but come on tell them to fix the wifi problem that started from ios 6 and still continuing to ios 6.0.1. I already gave them another feedback like 5 days ago. I really don't want to reconnect to my wifi everytime. I already did everything possibly to fix my wifi problem. I know its IOS 6.0.1 because it started with ios 6 and still not fixed by apple update to 6.0.1.
I have a very limit data plan of 300 MB on at&t and I don't want to go over so I rely on my wifi most of the time.

I thought I believed my iPhone 4 with iOS5.0 would not disconnect during sleep mode. However, I was wrong. What I did was to ping the IP addresses on my iPhone 4 (iOS5) and iPhone 5 (iOS 6 then, and iOS6.0.1 now) when they were in sleep mode. Very true that there were timed-out on both devices. Once I woke them up, ping went thru. I did a scan on my home network using my iPad while the other 2 phones were in sleep mode, I was not able to see them.
I thought my iPhone4 did not disconnect too. But again, I think the reconnecting to wifi on iOS 5 is SO MUCH quicker than on iOS6 so user would think there was never a disconnect.

I have got the new version of Adobe Flash Player. How come it won't let me use omegle or chatroulette and it keeps crashing?

Everytime I load chatroulette it says that Adobe Flash Player has crashed, when on omegle and I click the video tab it says that it crashes. However my Flash Player works for games on facebook. I know it's the most recent version as I needed to get the latest version to play a game on facebook.

There is a way to manually turn off the new protected mode of Flash 11.3, if you do not want to try an earlier version. How come TM won't backup anymore after initial backup?

I had the same problem as some other people where the initial back up took about 12 hours. However, now I'm facing a new problem where TM just prepares for 2hours (still going) and won't backup any of the new stuff. What's the point of going into the TM and you can't even go back in time because all I have is the "Today" screen? Does anybody know how I can get TM to keep backing up my stuff consistently?

UPDATE: After quite a few attempts, I concluded there is an issue in SL with TM backups to a password protected Airport Disk, so I reverted to using the Airport password.
What was odd during all of this is that when I was using a disk password, I could mount the disk (and the sparse images) from both my iMac and my UMBP, and TM would work from the UMBP but not the iMac. This was despite my deleting the TM plist, restarting, disconnecting the disk from the Airport extreme.
When I reverted back to using the Airport password, I did it from the iMac. TM then worked fine from there, but not the UMBP. It took a combination of restarts, selecting None as the TM disk, and I don't remember what else to get the UMBP backing up again.
So, in my case at least, the Mac that changed the PW type worked fine, the other one either never worked or required hoops to work. Other than that, kind of lost, but I do have it working at least.

If you have had this problem while booted ino recovery mode, it's not a Spotlight issue. If your hard drive is failing, that could cause the problems you describe. Do you have good backups? If not, your first order of business needs to be backing up all data that you don't want to lose. Once you have done that, you can start troubleshooting.
Regarding troubleshooting, you can check the SMART status of your hard drive in Disk Utility, but it's important to note that failing hard drives can easily have "verified" SMART status.
It would also be worth repairing the hard drive with Disk Utility. If the hard drive is actually failing, though, repairing won't do squat... the drive will have to be replaced.
Your problems involving Spotlight could also have been caused by a corrupt Spotlight index. Since you added the entire hard drive to the Privacy pane, removing it will cause Spotlight to completely rebuild the index, which would solve that problem... if that were the problem.
Also, you mention that your machine is "clean, virus-free, spyware-free," which suggests that you may have been using cleaning utilities and anti-virus software. Regarding the former, that's a bad idea - see The myth of the dirty Mac. As for anti-virus software, what software are you using? Some anti-virus software is good, while others can bring your Mac to its knees.

How come facebook won't totally load on my ipad anymore

Try clearing the Safari cache, force close it and reset your iPad. Then try Facebook again.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close Safari. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to Safari, then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Safe Margins - how come they don't work as expected ?

Ok, so I have put a title on the lower left area of my footage, and have my "safe margins" ON. I placed the text title right up against the outer safe margin border.
When I export this to .vobs and play it on the TV, the logo is not anywhere near the bottom corner of my TV screen, but up and to the right of the bottom corner, and this is not good, and it's very puzzling why it is doing this.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Depending on the design of your logo, you might consider some "bleed" in the graphic itself, just like in printing to get the graphic to end beyond the page perimeter. If you've got a bug, then a graphic field behind it (say a rectangle with Opacity to 20% maybe even with a gradient from 20% to 0% to the right of the bug), that bleeds off of the screen, even beyond the Action Safe Area, will insure that the whole graphic is about where you want it, and then place the bug inside the Title Safe Area. Visually, it will appear that the logo does go off screen, but your bug will be where you placed it.

How come FireFox won't load linked style sheets for every website?

It started about 4-5 days ago. No matter what website I go to, it isn't linking the style sheets so the websites are displayed incorrectly. Why? I didn't change anything!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Sorry - should have been clearer.
Type "about:config" in the address bar and that takes you to settings.
I usually cut n paste the term to the 'Filter' once I'm in config rather than scroll through to find.
Then double click the entry and it'll change from 'false' to 'true.
Close FF and then re-open for the setting to take effect.
