How Come when i click on a desktop icon it go's into microsoft word?

There are diffent icon either on my desktop or toolbar.For example on my yahoo messenger,new email icon would pop on my toolbar. I click it, then it opens into microsoft word, I have had this happen to a ebay desktop icon and it trys to load it on micosoft word too,,

1. Click on the Windows logo "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your screen
2. Type in "regedit"
3. Click on "regedit" search result
4. Click on "Yes" to make changes
5. Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Software\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Explorer\
FileExts\.
lnk
6. Delete the other keys except "OpenWithProgids"
7. Log off and log back on
Before making any modifications to your registry I would ensure you do a backup of the registry first in case something goes wrong you can restore it back to it's original state.

Do they show on your purchase history ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases (the most recent purchase is above the list).
If they don't show then they may just be 'holding charges' to check that you had enough funds to pay for them - in which case they should disappear within a few days or so.

I too had this problem after I redeemed two $50 gift cards. I solved the problem by uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. Give it a try.

It can happen from time to time, especially with third-party apps, though shouldn't happen too often with the ones created by Apple, such as Safari. Turning your iPod completely off and then on again can sometimes help.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You need a minimum of 10GB of free space for normal operations
You need to address that first - the best soution may be to get an external drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag your iPhoto library to it - depress the option key and launch iPhoto and point to that library
Hopefully that will let you get started - there may be additional repairs needed

I have to re-install Firefox everyday, when I click on the desktop icon, it does not open.

When i double click the desktop icon Firefox to open it, nothing happens. I have to install the program from the setup file again. This happens everyday, it used to only happen maybe once every 2-3 months, now it's all the time. Any advice?

Why does a firefox properties box appear when I click on a desktop icon?

I click on a desktop icon, and instead of going to that application, I get a box that says firefox properties, asking what my target is. If I restart the computer, the desktop works for a short time, and then starts the firefox properties box again.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

The slow load time on a cold start is an old "classic" problem for FF.
Mozilla may work on a solution or not, but meanwhile I'm happy with this work around.

Firefox is very slow to come up when I click on its desktop icon -- hourglass disappears. Sometimes it does not intiate at all after 3 minutes. A second click may bring up two instances of Firefox.

A second click may not get a response, and a third click may then bring up three instances. But sometimes second and third clicks may just bring up one instance. And many times, Firefox comes right up the way it is supposed to.
This delayed initiation happens almost all the time when I first turn on my computer. But it also happens frequently at all other times.

I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? HT203433 I bought a cd today, and the digital booklet came with it, (Of course). But when I click on the digital booklet, it opens up in Microsoft Words with no pics/lyrics/artwork. Instead, I get like 200 pages of a bunch of Gibberish letters/symbols :

Hello fellow iTunes users. My issue is related to the one above.
I can successfully download the digital booklet included with Taylor Swift's Red Deluxe album, but when I try to open it in Adobe Reader (and the pdf reader included with Windows 8), the following error screen appears:
I have tried to re-download the file several times - and on a different computer. Is Apple aware of this issue and, if so, is there a fix for it? Both are using Windows x64 versions. One is running Windows 7, the other running (the truly awful) Windows 8.

p.s. I upgraded to iTunes 11 before this purchase and I find iTunes 11 to be a marked improvement on v10 and the only reliable media player that I am able to use on Windows 8, so congratulations Apple for doing a better job than Microsoft when it comes to Windows 8 compatibility, lol!
