How come when i updated my iphone 3gs it froze and now flashes on and off?
When I tried to update my iphone 3gs verifying upload it froze, and is now flashing on and off. What do I do? It does not connect to a computer either. I WOULD LIKE A REPLY. ASAP!!!

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

I have updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 from 4.1 and it has locked back to the orginal sim card in america but as i live in ireland an american simcard wont work here is there any way i can unlock ios 5 or delete it off my iphone and go back to 4.1 so i can use my iphone ?
It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this. -
I've updated my iphone 3gs from iOS 5 to iOS 6 and now I can't access the internet on 3g, can anybody help??
I don't follow your instructions... mine goes Settings->General->Cellular and from there it's just on/off options for Cellular Data, Enable 3G, Data Roaming, etc. Or I could go Settings->General->Profile APN Carrier Settings but when I click that it just shows as verified but no Visual Voice APN or MMS Settings. If I click More Details it goes to Signing Certificate which has a bunch of parameters for unlockit.co.nz but I am unable to change anything.
I just updated my iphone 3GS to IOS 6 and my internet (wifi and 3G), voice and text all work, but the only thing I can't do is send/receive pictures via text message. I am using At&t prepaid sim. I tried turning off the phone completely but I'm trying to avoid a complete restore.. at least until I can understand the problem better! Any help would be appreciated!

Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

I'm having a little trouble updating my iphone 3gs iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6 i have downloaded the update software but everytime I update my iphone it will alert me saying that "back up session failed disconnect and connect and try again" how am i gonna update my iphone if this is always happening ? I can't open my wifi because in our place there is no wifi-ready places nearby please help me !No public Wi-Fi? Even a McDonald's?

You have POP mail account. That's how those types of email accounts work.
You want an IMAP type of account, where if you delete on phone, it will also delete on server. Should you ever restore your device again it will only update the mail that hasn't been deleted.
You didn't say which email service you use, but try contacting them to see if they offer IMAP. Or you can switch. -
How can I be sure that when I update my iPhone 3gS, it won't erase all my information on my phone?
My dad had an iPhone 3gs and recently he went to update it and the update wiped out everything on his iphone. Ever since that happened, I've been afraid to update my phone. I have 1,050 pictures that I can't import into the computer because i have "foreign images" on my camera roll, and I really don't want to lose all my contacts and such. I haven't updated the phone since March 2010, so it's been a while. Please help if possible!
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger here -- the last two IOS updates (4.3.3 and 4.3.4) have hung up midway, leaving me having to restore everything from backups. It's annoying, but not overly dangerous -- just remember to sync, backup and all of that regularly.
Yeah, I notice 4.3.5 is out -- think I'll hold off on that one. Taking a couple of hours to go through the process of "install, restore, etc." is a real drag. -
I have disabled SMS messaging and use only imessage but how come it's blue when I message one iphone user and green when I message another? I thought you could imessage between any iphone.
It's possible one recipient has disabled iMessage and the other hasn't.
Also, it sometimes takes and initial SMS to shared the keys from each device to enable the secure iMessage channel. Subsequent messages would then be iMessage enabled. -
When I upgrade Firefox (French, from 13.0 to 13.0.1) in Ubuntu, the existing french language pack does not work, while in Windows 7, it does work without problems. It seems to me that the language pack should be system independent.
This problem happens in Ubuntu everytime there is an upgrade, and it is usually very difficult to find the correct language file that wors in Ubuntu. Again, in Windows, no such problem.
I am puzzled.You always need to reinstall language packs if you update Firefox because the updater doesn't seem to be able to find them on its own.

It states that it is stuck in recovery mode. I am getting an error message with a code 1603. Could someone please help. Also, is there any way to not lose my personal information? I am not computer savy...please help!

To expand on the 1/2-answer that Diesel gave;
The first thing you should look into is which version of iTunes you have. If you're not running iTunes 10, then you're not going to be able to update your phone past iOS 4.2.
Depending on what kind of system you're using, there are several reasons why your iTunes may be out of date:
In the Mac world, if you're not running a version of OS/X newer than 10.5.x (Leopard) then iTunes won't upgrade to the latest version (10). If you have a pre-2006 G-series processor Mac, you're pretty-much stuck at 10.4.x (Tiger) or lower and, sadly, Apple/iTunes doesn't support those machines any more. If your Mac is newer than 2006 but older than 2008, you'll likely be stuck at finding a copy of Snow Leopard (10.6.x) and you need to see your local Apple service provider to see if they can get you updated.
If you're running a Windows workstation, I believe that any Windows machine that's still running XP patched to Service Pack 2 or later should still be able to install and use iTunes 10. The system requirements can be found on the iTunes download page. If for some reason your iTunes has stopped doing its updates (or won't do them) you'll probably need to re-install iTunes. Installing over-top of the old iTunes should work and you won't loose any of your data - however, just in case, you should back-up your computer prior to making any significant changes to the software.
Now, Diesel also made the assumption that you may only have a 3G phone and not a 3Gs. To verify this not the case, plus for anyone who may be reading this and has any doubt, this link will help you identify your phone. iOS 5 and later does not support phones older than the 3Gs, and its unlikely that your cellular service provider will for very long either.
