Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I dropped my Iphone in water and the on/off button stopped working, how do I fix it?

I dropped my phone in some water and it was only in there for about two or three seconds. I grabbed it and dried it straight away and made sure to get in all of it, and it was fine, everything worked. But about an hour after the on/off button stopped working, so i have to use the home button to unlock it and have to wait for the screen to turn off after 1 minute of leaving it. I cant turn it off and dont know how to fix it. Will it go away on its own, do I have to send it off to get fixed? If you had just done it, the advice would have been to shut it off and put it in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice or silica gel for a week. Unfortunately, since it's been powered on for several hours, since then, it may have been permanently damaged. You can try the rice trick, but be prepared to pay for a replacement at some point down the road.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

How do I get the on-off button to work again?

I have an iPod nano, 6th generation. The on-off button has stopped working, therefore I can't turn off the display screen until it does it itself and when I'm away from my wall charger, I can't turn the iPod on to change a song.
The button doesn't even click anymore, it just gives a little push but no click.
How do I get this fixed? My warranty has just run out, too.

Hi, madperson! And thanks for your reply. Yesterday, when I posted my query, I had already ran FF in safe mode and checked all (and few) ext/addons I have. The problem persisted, so I posted my question. This morning, however, the glitch seems to have cleared itself! The New Tab button and the "+" icon both work like before! Don't ask me what happened, I could not even begin to try to explain. Anyway, here are the ext/addons I have: Norton Vulnerability Protection; Personas; Flash Video Downloader; Groowe Search Toolbar (which was suggested by Mozilla); and Yahoo Toolbar. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.

The silent/ringer switch and the volume control buttons stopped working, how can I fix this or do I just need to get a new phone?

One day I relalized that the silent/ringer switch on my iPhone 4 stopped working. My phone is permently silent and I can't turn the ringer on. The speakers still work so they aren't the problem. Also, the volume controls on the side don't work either. Is this problem fixable or do I need to get a new phone?

you can try the restore first to make sure it is nothing software related. makesure to back up information and restore as new. after that it is hardware if your with in the limited hardware warranty and can be replaced for free if you are not then it can be replaced for 149$ if it is a iphone 4 or lower

Why did the "insert link" button stop working?

They've had that stupid "click to insert a link" button on the tool bar for ever. But it did nothing. Then it started working, making markup like this:

Firefox is now hard to load, and no matter what I click on for a web page, or even my mail I get the connection was reset and I have to hit the try again button 5 - 6 times usually to get the page to load.

I updated internet explorer also changing my server provider so that my web page contact emails would go thru. I have quest broadband and could not use my yahoo accounts as they are not compatible, had me open a q.com email will transfer to outlook for my web pages. That all works, but now firefox is acting up.

Many business users chose to use the downgrade option to XP until Windows 7 had been out awhile longer ,which may be what happened on your machine. Where I work, most all of the machines still run XP.
Recovery Disks contain the OS and all drivers/software for a specific model. A plain Windows disk contains just the OS.Not sure which you have, but a true Recovery Disk set will not work on any machine.
It really sounds like you have a Windows Repair disk which requires a backup image to repair an installation.Could you confirm what exact disk you have?

I have an hp pavilion dv6910us and the speakers have stopped working and no longer show as installed as a device. I have tried reinstalling the audio device driver, but the hp website does not list a driver for my specific laptop.
Right now it shows that I have a bluetooth audio device installed. I have never installed this device and don't know where it came from.

I had the exact same problem, updating updating the Mbox 2 drivers on the Avid website has fixed the problem.

The volume and mute functionality should be provided by the audio driver, so try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load. Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed,restart the notebook once again.

The add to button doesn't appear on itunes with my ipod touch 4th gen.

I cannot add any songs to my ipod touch 4th generation because an add to button does not appear on itunes in the "on my ipod" section. If i plug my sister's newer ipod in it works, it does not make sense. i have re installed itunes four times now. I don't know what else to do. This means i can no longer add any songs to my ipod from my computer the only way to get songs is by purchasing them from the itunes store. HELP. PLEASE. This has been occurring for a while now.

The Download function has stopped working, it won't open the file I'm trying to download and just freezes up. Any suggestions to fix this?

When I click on a file, the download menu window opens and I click on the open with (excel, windows, adobe etc.) and click OK, the program stops and freezes up.

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

So let me get this straight. Are you saying that when attempting to access applications that you have downloaded to your iPhone, they don't open at all no matter how much you tap on them?

About two weeks ago the brower back button stopped working on random occasions and website. Issue is never consistent..

HP laptop, Windows XP, FF 4.0. Don't remember changing any add ons or version of FF when the issue started. Sometimes when I opened a new page off a web site the back button works and I can go back to the home page, sometimes it does not work. This is totally random. I use multiple tabs for news sources and this issue is not associated with a particular site. Short of uninstall and reinstall, loosing all my add ins and features, I don't know how to fix this. I have been using FF for years on this computer. This bug just started a couple of weeks prior to FF 4.0 coming out.

Do you have the McAfee Site Advisor, that one is known to cause problems with the back button. If you have it try disabling it and the back button should function normally.

Try System Preferences>Energy Saver>Options tab, uncheck Allow power button to sleep computer.
Some possible other options...
Control-Eject
The dialog box "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" appears with options to Restart, Sleep, Cancel or Shut Down. After the dialog appears, press the R key to Restart, press the S key to Sleep, press the Esc key to Cancel, or press the Return key to Shut Down.
Control-Command-Eject
Quits all applications (after giving you a chance to save changes to open documents) and restarts the computer.
Control-Option-Command-Eject
Quits all applications (after giving you a chance to save changes to open documents) and shuts the computer down.
Command-Option-Eject
Puts the computer to sleep.
Shift-Control-Eject
Puts all displays to sleep.
Power button (if the computer is not responding)
Press and hold the power button on the computer for six seconds to shut down the computer.
