How compounding attribute behaves?

Hello Experts
I have a doubt about compounding attributes
0country is compunding attribute fo 0REGION.
in my scenario i just need 0region in report so i populated values for only this field in 1 cube and country is blank there.
in my other cube country is not blank.
In multiprovider i have mapped country and region from both the cubes.
now to see it correctly in report country should be populated in first cube as well or it will workout ok?
Regards
Sudeep

compounding attribute will be maintaining the consistancy of one record..   eg if there is field1 and field2 combination of this two fields will be giving a unique record.
country     region           sales group     sales Value
ind            south             sg1                  $10000
ind            north              sg1                  $50000
hope you will understand the concept...

    Hi,
when you need additional on\bject to identify each records in master data table....ie  a new key in the table...then you go for compounding...so if 24 is the value of A when it is with B then you cmpound B with A.
Just go the compounding option in the infoobject and add this object
    thats all !
    Thanks

  • How to hide compounding attribute in Bex Report

    Friends,
I've an Info object A. And 'B' is the compounding attribute of A.
So in Bex, it is displaying B/A.
But I want to display only A which is the main info object. I don't want to display the componding info object.
    Any help on this...?
    Joe

    Joe,
I am not sure, if anyone understood your requirement, as I cannot make the solutions provided work for resolving your problem -
I am also in the same situation - where I want to hide the compounded char. in the BEx report. Once I drill down any other char B (compounded with the company code) - it is still showing the compounded char like CC/charB.
    Any help?
    thanks,
    Jeff.

  • Problem in compounding attributes

I need to add compounding attributes to the bw systems from sap R/3. do i need to delete the data in cubes and masterdata and all and start from the scratch, how to solve it, i have seached forum which i couldnt found out.

    Hi Radha,
Yes you can for the enhancement of the data source. you have to include the new characteristic in the attributes data source and you have to do the mappings and everything upto the object and you can start the loading the transaction and masterdata aswell. but you have to make sure that you have compounded correctly and the compounded object length must be less than or equal to 60(including the added object). and you have to select the option compounding local to the source system.
Hope its clear,..if you have still any doubts plz let us know.
also please have a glance at this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/80/1a63b3e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

  • How MRP would behave? if Pegging is not enabled at item level

    Hi,
How MRP would behave in the following conditions.
    Item Level Setup,
    1)No Pegging
    2)Soft Pegging
    3)Hard Pegging
    thank you in advance,

Just to clarify, irrespective of how you set the pegging attribute, the plan will calculate the supply /demand for the item (provided it is a planned item.)
If it is a "no pegging" item, you won't be able to drill down from a planned order to the demand that caused the planned order to be generated. Similarly, you cannot drill down from the demand to the planned order that satisfies the demand.
The soft pegging attribute is used if you do not have/want project/task data to be considered during planning.
The hard pegging is used if you segregate supplies by project/task and you do not want to use a supply meant for one project to satisfy demand for a different project (or a different planning group).
    Hope this helps,

    Hi John,
    <b>Hierarchies</b>
Hierarchies are used for analysis to describe alternative views of the data.
To create Hierarchies for a characteristic Info Object, in the Hierarchy tab page of the
    Info Object's Create/Change screen,
you've to check the With Hierarchies check box.

  • Compounding attributes using flat files

    Hi experts,
Many questions are asked relating compounding attributes previously.
I think it is a unique one.
Iam a freesher in sap BI
Can we use compounding attributes using flatfiles.
That is I have two file source systems.
how can I use the compounding attributes concept here.
Please explain me taking some scenario.
Points will be assigned for useful answer.
    Thanks,
    Sundar

    Hi,
Normally compunding means showing the difference of the data on base of the compunded field.
in your case ic you want to differ on base of country .. then make country as coumponding to employee number.
that the 2 files will show the difference as below example.
    file 1
    empno                country                companycode
    1133                    india                    001
    1134                    india                    002
    File 2
    1133                    us                       001
    1134                    us                       002
when the above 2 files get loaded the out put whould be
    empno                country                companycode
    1133                    india                    001
    1133                    us                       001
    1134                    india                    002
    1134                    us                       002
The data will be show as above ie 4 records.
when you run a reprot on this.. and when you drill down on country you will get 2 records one for 1133 and other 1134
let me know if you need any more inputs.

  • Compounding attributes

    Hi
I am using 0FIAR_C03 cube. in that i need to get attributes from 0CUST_SALES .
this I can from source 0customer or not?
this char have compounding attributes like sales org, dist channel and division .
how can i fill data for above characters in cube? whether i need look from billing dso to look up data or any master data is better look up data?

    Hi Suneel,
Below are the option U can opt.
    1. use read master data from the existing char to drive the desired attribute.
    2. Write the Routine on transformation / rule to get the master data attributes. This is similar to read master data but make sure code is optimized.
    3. Enhance the Data source using the Customer exit.
    Useful Doc for the same.

  • NH: Compounding Attribute Clarity Needed

    Hi,
Was just going thru some links of Compound Attribute and found this link interesting.
I have a question here, hope you don mind.
In your reply to KMR , you mentioned that The Compund characteristic is "stucked" to the parent characteristic and therefore, whenever you use the characteristic, you have to also use the compound characteristic.
My question is what if i  want to display just the Parent characteristic and not the compound.
For example : I want to display in Query just the Employee as E01 and not like US/E01.
Can i do this way ?
But i don want to remove Country as Compound Attribute in Info-Object, just want to ignore while displaying.
    Thanks,
    Zehra.

Does anyone have an answer to this?  It seems as though most people aren't understanding the question, but here it is as I understand it:
Compounded InfoObject A with Parent InfoObject B displays as the key as "B Value / A Value".  We want to leave the InfoObject A as compounded, but we want to display just the key "A Value" in the query, without the compounding visible.  This shouldn't require the Parent InfoObject to be present in the query, though it should probably be in the InfoProvider.
This has nothing to do with "No Display".  While in the query runtime, you can right click InfoObject A and select Properties -> Characteristic.  Once in that menu, the display of the InfoObject can be selected as "Key (Not Compounded)".
This is exactly what I want, but I want that to be the display by default, so that users don't have to change the display themselves.  I've looked at the InfoObject in RSA1, and I've looked at it in Query Designer, and neither give me a display option having to do with Compounding, they both limit my options to "Text", "Key", "Text & Key", or "Key & Text".  Then I can also choose which text I want to display.
Any ideas on how to default the display of a compounded InfoObject to "Key (Not Compounded)"?
    Thanks,
    Owen

  • How are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?

    Hello,
how are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?
Most tables with attribute master data like T001 for company codes,
have a text master data table T001T (add "T" to table name).
When looking at the content of table T001 via transaction se11,
    the text are automatically joined.
But for some tables there is no "T"-table (e.g. table TVBUR for sales offices
has no text table TVBURT), but in se11 you get texts. There is an address
link in TVBUR, but the Name1, etc. are empty.
    a) Where are the text stored?
    b) How does the system know of the link?
    Hope someone can help!
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas
The master and text table are not linked by name, of course, if you see the text table, it has the same key fields of master table, only it has the field key spras and the field for description.
The link beetween the tables is done by foreign key: if you check the text table TVKBT u need to see how the foreign key for field VKBUR is done:
-> Foreing key with table TVBUR
-> Foreing key field type -> KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE
    ->Cardinality-> 1-:CN
It's very important the attribute sets for Foreing key field type, if it's KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE, it'll mean the table is a text table: i.e. that mean the master table is a check table for the text table, where the foreign key type is for text table.
U can find out the text table of master table by SE11: GoTo->Text Table
U can fined some information in table DD08L.

  • Can anyone please tell me how the attribute node in LABVIEW ( ver 5) in builtin INSTRUMENT I/O exampe file

Can anyone please tell me how the attribute node in LABVIEW ( ver 5) in builtin INSTRUMENT I/O exampe file works and how it is being made.............

    Samura,
After running LabVIEW 5.1 I found in the Search Examples help file a link titled Instrument I/O. Under there I see several examples, one of which contains many attribute nodes. It is difficult for me to tell you pecifically what the purpose of each and every attribute node in this forum.
Generally, attribute nodes in LabVIEW 5.1 are used to set the properties of the front panel controls and indicators. The properties available in an attribute node are very similar to the properties made available by right clicking on a particular front panel control or indicator.
If you have a question about a specific attribute node, I would like to ask you to post in a new thread with a detailed description of the attribute node.
Thank you, and have a great day
