How Configure a Margin-Width Line at Bottom of Header and Top of Footer?

Pages Mavens,
Would you help?
How can Pages (v5.5.2) be configured to draw a "margin-to-margin" line (aka, "border") at the bottom of the header region and top of the footer region?As shown in the image below, this function is irritatingly easy in MS-Word (darn it).
Many thanks for the assist!
Plane Wryter

You are right. There is some extremely annoying bug in Pages 5.5.2.
Tried inserting a tab in the Format Sidebar but it doesn't seem to take.
Nothing new there! I really don't know why Apple implemented this awful divided Headers/Footers model.

Btw here is Pages '09:
Took a few seconds and just works.

    Lines in what? And what language are you using to develop with?
    Are the lines in a text file? A RichTextBox? A TextBox? Some other control? A List(Of String)?
    Is there some expectation by you that by providing what you wrote in your question post that the knowledge in your mind about what you are thinking about will mysteriously emanate to anybody reading your post so all of the sudden your knowledge will
    become their knowledge and they will be able to provide you with an answer as they will suddenly understand what you are trying to do? Because that's probably impossible. Most people try providing enough information in a question so anybody, even stupid people
    like me, can understand what they want. Maybe you should try that. As well as selecting an appropriate forum for your question in the future. Usually a question like this is related to programming in a particular language therefore a language forum may be
    a good choice. Or not.

    Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions.  Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

  • Line at bottom of header is getting hidden

    I've added a line at the bottom of the report header and it is displayed when the text box immediately above is hidden (based on whether there is text to populate the text box).
    If there is text to populate the text box immediately above the line, the  line gets hidden.  Is there a way to force the line to always be displayed?
    The reason I'm trying to use the line instead of the header border is because I don't like the way the header border extends beyond the right and left edge of the body of my report.  I like the line because I can make the same width as the report body.
    Kevin

    Hi Simon,
    It's actually the reverse.  There is no expression controlling whether the line is hidden.  It is meant to be displayed all the time.
    However, the text box above it has the following expression for it's contents.
    =First(Fields!DispatchComments1.Value, "DataSet1") & vbcrlf &
    First(Fields!DispatchComments2.Value, "DataSet1") & vbcrlf &
    First(Fields!DispatchComments3.Value, "DataSet1") & vbcrlf &
    First(Fields!DispatchComments4.Value, "DataSet1")
    It also has the following expression that controls whether it is hidden.  The expression works as expected.  If there is text in any of those fields the text box is displayed, if not it is hidden.
    =IIF(LEN(First(Fields!Comments1.Value, "DataSet1") &
    First(Fields!Comments2.Value, "DataSet1") &
    First(Fields!Comments3.Value, "DataSet1") &
    First(Fields!Comments4.Value, "DataSet1")) > 0, FALSE, TRUE)
    When there is no text in the text box the line is visible.  The problem is if there is text in the text box it appears to be covering up the line.

  • How do i split a line in a csv file and populate a combobox and a textbox with the parts

    What I'm trying to do is split the line and fill a combobox and with the selecteditem and the textbox with the value of the combobox selecteditem which is the second part of the line split.
    Thanks in advance for the help or suggestions.

    Then you should create a class to represent the items in the ComboBox:
    Public Class MyItem
    Public Property PartA As String
    Public Property PartB As String
    End Class
    ...and add instances of this class to the ComboBox:
    Try
    Dim mydocpath1 As String = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop)
    Dim mylines() As String = File.ReadAllLines(mydocpath1 + "\TextFile1.txt")
    For Each line In mylines
    Dim parts() As String = line.Split(","c)
    Dim item As MyItem = New MyItem With {.PartA = parts(0), .PartB = parts(1)}
    cmb1.Items.Add(item)
    Next line
    cmb1.SelectedItem = cmb1.Items(1) 'select second item
    Catch ex As Exception
    MsgBox(ex.Message)
    End Try
    Then you set the DisplayMemberPath of the ComboBox to the name of one property and bind the Text property of the TextBlock to the other one:
    <ComboBox Name="cmb1" DisplayMemberPath="PartA" />
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding ElementName=cmb1, Path=SelectedItem.PartB}" />
    That should solve your issue.

    I can't find the parts I need in partsurfer, though I may have messed up. Any help would be appreciated. On a related note, HP Really needs to improve their issues with the left heinge.

    I've tried the procedure you referenced. I still believe I need to clear all earlier syncing history before I can sync my phone with my laptop. When I tried the procedure you've recommended I couldn't find/recall my old sync key. I went through the process of resetting and creating a new sync key, but that didn't help...

  • The inline line object in the header is offset in facing pages. How can I make it align with the outer margin?

    I have a Pages document with a header that contains both text and a line (a shape, inline) below the text. When I make the document two-sided (facing pages), with a 1" inside margin and a .75" outside margin, the line offsets either left or right in each section of the document. When a section starts with a right-hand page, the line is right justified on ALL the pages in the section (1" from the left and .75" from the right), even though it should be .75" from the LEFT on the LEFT-HAND pages. When a section starts with a left-hand page, the line is left justified on ALL the pages in the section.
    Is there any way to get the header  line to align with the margins properly in facing pages?

    Hi Debra,
    Click on Inspector > Layout > Section > Configuration
    Is there a tick in 'Left and right pages are different'?
    Please post a screen shot of your headers. That will help to show what you are trying to achieve.
    To take a screen shot, hold down the shift and command keys, then type 4. The cursor will change to crosshairs. Release the shift and command keys. Drag over that part of your screen then release the mouse/trackpad. A screen shot will appear on your desktop. In a reply to a message, click on the camera icon in the Toolbar above your reply and
    Choose File > Choose > Insert Image
    You may have to try this twice. Camera icon sometimes needs a wake-up call, but works the second time.
    Remove any personal details before taking the screen shot.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • How to start iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant on Command Line?

    the Net Configuration Assistant and Database Configuration Assistant have completed successfully, but OUI hang in the iSQL*Plus Configuration Assistant.
    No response after a very long time.
    Could anybody tell me how to manually start iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant on Command Line?
    Thanks a lot !
    Edited by: user11970554 on 2009-10-5 上午9:21

    Thanks.
    Anyhow, I found an easier way to do this:
    1)Just run installer again to start the OUI:
    #./runInstaller
    2)Choose "Custom" installation option
    3)check the box at "iSQL*Plus" for reinstall
    4)The OUI will first deinstall iSQL*Plus, and then reinstall it, and will automatically start "iSQL*Plus configuration Assistant".
    This procedure applies to any component of oracle which failed at first time installation.

                          <p>          Is another treatment option for people who seek  unobtrusive orthodontic treatment. Instead of brackets bonded to the tooth,  dental treatment is mapped out through a series of plastic dental trays  designed to move the teeth in incremental movements over weeks. The clear,  plastic trays are virtually invisible and are difficult to detect. With  Invisalign there is no irritation to the gums and they can be removed for  aesthetic reasons over small periods of time.
                          Invisalign is a solution for patients who are not in need of severe orthodontic treatment and is not a solution for everyone. In some cases, patients may require additional treatment if they have more dental malocclusions. Please schedule a consultation today if you want to find out if you are a candidate for Invisalign.  </p>

                          <p>For patients who have missing teeth, dental implants could be the best treatment available. Dental implants perform similar to natural teeth. If you have healthy gums and bone, a dental implant can be placed  into your jaw. Once the tissue have grown around the implant, a strong, artificial tooth designed to match your existing teeth can be attached to the dental implant . The replacement tooth will look and function similar to a natural tooth.
    Endodontics (root canal therapy),
    is a treatment for the pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the tooth from future microbial invasion
    Common reasons for Root Canal therapy  include:
    - Decay has reached the nerve,
    - A cracked or chipped  tooth can cause the need for a root canal if the crack exposes a nerve
    -  trauma causes the nerve to separate from the tooth.
    With the removal of nerves and blood supply from the tooth, it is best that the tooth be fitted with a crown which increases the prognosis of the tooth.

                          <p> </p>
                          <p>The same material used to create porcelain veneers, crowns, and bridges is also being utilized for more common treatments like cavity fillings. because tooth-colored fillings are made from materials similar in texture and color to natural teeth, teeth with white fillings are virtually indistinguishable from surrounding teeth.</p>
                          <h2>Dental Veneers:</h2>
                          <center><img src="images/veeners3.jpeg"/></center>
                          <p> </p>
                          <p>Veneers are thin, artificial tooth shells made from porcelain or tooth colored resin, custom fitted to bond to the front of your existing teeth. Veneers are safe and relatively simple to apply, and they can be used to correct stained, chipped, cracked, misaligned, and discolored teeth.
    Veneers can also add tooth length, width, color and esthetic shape.  Veneers can reshape your smile in as little as two appointments.

                          <h2>Crowns:</h2>
                          <center><img src="images/Crowns.jpeg"/></center>
                          <p> </p>
                          <p>Teeth that are badly weakened by decay or trauma may require more treatment than basic fillings. Chipped, cracked, weakened, or decaying teeth can be strengthened with crowns, which cover (cap) the entire tooth.
    Now made with porcelain or other tooth colored material, crowns or bridges can be as pleasing aesthetically as they are functionally.
    </p>
                          <h2>Bridges:</h2>
                          <center>
                            <p><img src="images/Bridges.jpeg"/></p></center>
                            <p>When one or more teeth are missing, the remaining teeth can shift out of their normal position.  Teeth adjacent to the space or from the opposite jaw will often drift or tilt.  These teeth are often more susceptible to decay or gum disease because they are more difficult to clean around.
    All of this shifting and drifting will lead to changes in the bite, which may put stress on the jaws, muscles and teeth.  Ultimately, your ability to chew comfortably and your appearance may be affected.
    A non-removable bridge can restore your teeth to normal function by replacing missing teeth.  It will improve the entire health of your mouth by keeping the surrounding teeth in position and can also help maintain the structure of your face and jaw.</p>

    Use Named Anchors.
    <a name="ortho">This is a named anchor point on the page</a>
    <a href="#ortho">This is a link to a named anchor</a>
    If you want to get fancy, you can apply smooth scrolling to your anchors.

  • How can hide the command line of a t.code in the portal

    Dear Experts.
    I have the following doubt:
    How can hide the Command Line of a Report that is called with a T.Code in the portal?
    Attach Image:
    [Image T.Code|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/eab3b6a03c.jpg]
    When I created a service using the T.Code SICF for the T.Code , I can hide buttons and the filed command line  using
    ~webgui_simple_toolbar
    ~singletransaction
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE
    With notes 1010519, "SAP GUI for HTML: Simplified Title Area Without Menu and OK Code" and 959417.
    But the problem is that when I create the service in the T.Code SICF, I also have that create an Iview IAC in the portal.
    The Question is : How can hide this fields and buttons if I want Publish the T.code using an Iview Transaction in the portal?
    In this moment I have used the two options:
    1 option) I created a service using the t.Code SICF for my Transaction and I also created an Iview IAC in the portal for call the service.
    RESULT:
    SAP Web Application Server
             500 Connection timed out
            Error: -5
           Version: 7000
           Component: ICM
           Date/Time: Sat Jun 12 20:26:39 2010
           Module: icxxthr_mt.c
           Line: 2698
           Server: xyxab...
    Error Tag: {-}
    Detail: Connection to partner timed out after 60s
    2)  created an Iview Transaction  in the portal and  call my transaction.
    RESULT.
    [Image T.Code|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/eab3b6a03c.jpg]
    But not can hide the field Command Line and other buttons.
    I think that the command :
    ~webgui_simple_toolbar
    ~singletransaction
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE
    Only can be used if I create a service using the T.Code SICF .
    Best Regards
    Carmen.

    Hi Carmen,
    The bottom line is that this cannot be done for transaction iviews without modifying the standard webgui service in SICF, which is probably not a good idea (since it affects everyone using SAP GUI for HTML). (You could hack the appintegrator to add the ~webgui_simple_toolbar parameter to the transaction URL template in the portal, but again its not a recommended thing to do ...). Better to create an IAC service in SICF with ~webgui=1 where you set the required appearance using an appropriate value for ~webgui_simple_toolbar, and then create an IAC iview to point at this service.
    You can even override the ~transaction value configured in the new service in individual IAC iviews by entering the appropriate value in the application parameter of the iview, for example:
    ~okcode=/nSU01
    And you can pass parameters in the same way:
    ~okcode=/nSU01 USR02-BNAME=xyz;USREFUS-USERALIAS=abc;
    By the way, it would not be recommended to create a URL iview to access an IAC, since you are likely to encounter session management issues in this scenario - better to use an IAC iview.
    Regards, Rory

  • How do i change the line spaces?

    How do i change the line spaces?????

    CSS line-height = space between lines.
    CSS margin-top = space above the element.
    CSS margin-bottom = space below the element.
    h1 {
    margin:0;
    line-height: 3em;}
    p {
    margin:0;
    line-height: 1.5em

  • How do I prevent nav links at bottom of site from wrapping?

    Mac OS 10.6.7
    Dreamweaver CS5.5
    How do I prevent nav links at bottom of site from wrapping? And how do I right justify the links?
    I changed something in CSS and now the footer links are wrapping. Previously, the links were at right/bottom of each page. When the browser window was made too narrow to display them, they would disappear along with the righthand side of the page. Now they wrap into multiple lines and expand out of the footer.
