How connect T61 with docking to HDTV

Hi,
I have a T61 Thinkpad laptop and trying to connect to my Panasonic Plasma HDTV.
I have my T61 connected to my dock which has a dvi output. I used a DVI to HDMI connector cable to connect to a female to female HDMI connector, which is connect to the HDMI cable from my HDTV. When I connect everything and turn it on, I get no video signal. I tried everything like hitting Fn + F7, and other F keys.. no video signal.
I upgraded the OS on my laptop to Windows 7.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Do you have any way to run dual headed? If you can get a monitor and the trouble TV running at the same time with the monitor as the primary display, you should be able to control Display Preferences for the TV from the monitor. If you select a working resolution for the TV while in such a configuration, the Mac should thereafter remember that setting so that when you restart with only the problem TV hooked up, you should get a useable resolution.

  • Can I connect iPod (with dock connector) with just a USB connector?

My mother-in-law gave my daughter her old iPod (with dock connector). It was supposed to come with an adapter that converts the 6-pin firewire cable to a USB cable (you are supposed to plug the 6-pin into the dock connector to charge it, then use the adapter to connect to your computer). We never got The adapter, so I just used USB connector from my own iPod nano to connect the old iPod into the computer. All kinds of error messages. I've now restored the iPod and it seems to be working, but I'm afraid to plug it back in using just the USB cable. Is it possible to connect the USB cable directly from the iPod to the computer without the adapter? Or could the problem be that I have also use my iPod nano on this computer? Thanks for any help you can provide.

A 15GB iPod would have to be a 3rd gen iPod.  It has a touch (not click) wheel with four touch buttons in a row that glow orange during use, correct?  That model needs to be connected using FireWire, because it cannot charge over USB.
If your new Mac has a Thunderbolt port, you can get an adapter for FireWire
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapte r
plus an adapter for FireWire 800 to FireWire 400
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/FIR1369AD/
Another way, if you have the square white FireWire power adapter that came with your iPod, is to get a special docking cable that Apple used to sell a long time ago.  It has both USB and FireWire connectors.  Here's a listing for a third-party version on eBay
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Vanco-iPod-Dock-Connector-to-1-USB-1-FireWire-Cable-/2 71074766489?pt=US_MP3_Player_Chargers_Cradles&hash=item3f1d50ae99
(Search on "FireWire USB iPod docking cable" to see other listings.)
What you do with this thing is plug the USB connector to your Mac's USB port, the FireWire connector to the FireWire power adapter, and the dock connector to the iPod.  iPod can then sync over USB while getting power over FireWire.
I would go with that special cable, to avoid using a series of adapters (which adds complexity and unreliability) and tying up the valuable Thunderbolt port for just your iPod.

  • How connect Oracle with AS400?

    Hi!
I don´t know how i can connect oracle with AS400 , what I need for make the connection?

    Hi,
    You have 3 options:
    - Oracle Transparant Gateway for DRDA
This product is available for Windows, Linux, AIX, HP-UX PA-RISC and Solaris SPARC
It uses the IBM DRDA protocol (over TCP/IP) to establish a connection with DB2400
    - Oracle Transparant Gateway for DB2/400
This product needs to be installed on the AS/400
    - Generic Connectivity (aka HSODBC)
This is a default Oracle Database feature that is available for Windows, Linux x86,
AIX, HP-UX PA RISC and Solaris Sparc.
In addition it requires a suitable ODBC-Driver (32-bit) that is able to connect to
         DB2/400
The gateways require additional license from Oracle, while HSODBC requires additional license for a third party ODBC vendor. Furthermore do gateways support the two phase commit protocol and calling DB2/400 stored procedures.

  • T61 with Docking Station: can it handle two 21" external Monitors?

    Hi
I would like to know if somebody knows if the T61 laptop grafic card can handle two 21" monitors attached at the docking station. Our internal IT guys are confirming two 19" are fine, but they do not know about two 21".
    thanks
    GC

If I remember correctly, you have the Intel-graphics-chip, and the docking/chip-combo does not support the dual-monitor setup via both VGA + DVI. You should be able to get image on the laptop-screen and the DVI output, I think?

  • Connect to 32" LCD TV from Lenovo T61 with a VGA connector

    Hi,
I am trying to connect to 32" LCD TV 1080P from T61 with a VGA connector. When I do (Fn+Ctrl+F7) I can see the T61's output on my TV if I set T61's display setting as 1280x768. Then If I increase the resolution on the TV the screen becomes black. I want to change the display setting to 1920x1080 so that I can see output as full screen on my TV.
    Notebook setting as follows
    Color Quality - 32 bit
    Refresh Rate - 60 Hertz
How can I change the screen resolution?

Most likely the TV won't support higher resolutions via the VGA connector. But there is a workaround.
After spending several hours at a TV store last October, we found an obscure reference in the TV's manual stating this limitation. We also discovered that HDMI will support the max resolution. The T61p docking station has a DVI port that outputs a signal that can be converted to HDMI. We bought a DVI-to-HDMI conversion plug ($75) and took the docking station, conversion plug and an HDMI cable back to the store. Worked great so we bought the 65" LCD for trade shows. There are some settings to play with on both the T61p and the TV that will increase the image clarity significantly. The image is stunning at full res.

  • T61 with NVidia Qaudro 140M / Advanced Dock - Multiscreen Solution?

    Hi Folks,
I just bought a new T61 with the NVidia 140M Graphic Adapter included. I also purchased the Advanced Dock and want do run a multiscreen solution with the help of a PCIe Dual Head card. I am running Vista Business and after some research on the web I already found out, that Vista only supports multiple Cards from the same vendor which uses the same drivers. (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/display/multimonVista.mspx)
However my dealer shipped an ATI Graphic Adapter which obviously does not work but I cant find information on the Lenovo Webpage, which NVidia Adapter are supported in the Advanced Dock. What seems to be a little bit odd to me is the fact, that when the ATI Adapter is installed in the Dock, the T61 is "docked" it does not boot at all... I changed the BIOS to Primary Video Display to PCI-Express but the only thing that happens is that the notebook beeps twice after turning it on and thats it. Black screen and no harddisk activity. Has somebody found a solution to run a multiple screen solution with a T61 with the NVidia Chip and could you tell me, which PCIe card you used? I would really appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    shart

I spent some time surfing through product release letters and data sheets for the grafic cards offered by Lenovo, no where, as far as I could see, does it say that they are compatible with the advanced dock. What is also interesting, they say for PCs they are only tested for 2 screens, but you found the document MIGR-67464 where they show how to configure 4. [confused smiley]
It looks as though you and RBS have found possible solutions for 4 screens, congrats to all
However, I don't want to be the "party pooper" here, but why doesn't your T61 boot in the dock with graphics card? This is still puzzling me, and to be honest I haven't as yet been able to come up with a reason or probable cause as to why

  • How connect a 27 cinema display to HP Pavilion with VGA video output

how connect a 27 cinema display to HP Pavilion with VGA video output

If it is a thunderbolt version of the apple 27" display, you don't.  The TB displays can only work with a TB source.
I also think you are out of luck with the mini-displayport versions of the apple 27" as well.   This would imply converting an analog VGA output  to a digital input of the 27".  I suspect that there is not enough data supplied by VGA for that to work and I do not believe any adapters exist for this.

  • Hi, I want to use my Capsule just as a back up via wireless. How do I set this up without connecting it with an ethernet cable to either a router or the iMac??

Hi, I want to use my Capsule just as a back up via wireless. How do I set this up without connecting it with an ethernet cable to either a router or the iMac??

I misunderstood what Time Capsule is and had hoped for a wireless backup device that didn't have to be connected to the router.
The TC is a wireless backup device.. it does not need to be connected to the main router..
The problem is the computer.. not the TC.. the computer has only one wireless card.. if your current internet is by wireless.. then you must choose.. internet or backup.
But my other suggestion will work.. get a wireless USB stick compatible with Mac OS.. there are plenty and cheap.. since you are in the same room as the TC they will work fine.. plug it in and load the driver.. taint hard.
You should do the first backup by ethernet though.. wireless is too slow.. once you have that, you will do fine.
Search ebay for wireless n usb.. Mac compatible..
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-EDUP-Mini-Wireless-11N-300M-USB-LAN-Card-WiFi-Adapte r-Nano-Card-Soft-AP-/150864362939?pt=US_USB_Wi_Fi_Adapters_Dongles&hash=item2320 377dbb#ht_3553wt_1165
As you can see.. they are getting smaller and neater.
I have no idea if it works .. haven't tried one.. but I have used USB wireless stick on the Mac to overcome this issue.
You will need to set static IP .. not hard but you need to set specifics if you do buy one post again for the setup.

How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver? I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. There are 4 HDMI-in ports on the receiver - BD, DVD, DVR/BDR and audio. In my system preferences for sound, the receiver doesn't show up as an output option. Can anyone please advise. (ps, this is my first time posting a question, so I hope I can find your answers!) thanks, JP downunder

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA  audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver.  Use something like this:

My Mac simply ignores my Iphone when I connect it with the USB cable. WHY? how Can I fix it?
I was able to connect the first time, but after that my computer simply rejects the Iphone and nothing happens. The Iphone doesn't spin or try to reboot even! .
WHAT to do? I got it today.

When you say it ignores your iPhone, do you mean it does not appear in iTunes if you launch iTunes? Or it does not appear in Finder? Or does not appear in iPhoto? Or you get an error message?

    Hi
Hi I just got my new Apple TV and I cant figure out how to connect it with My MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010- Processor  1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) OSX Version 10.8

Are you referring to mirroring or you just unable to set up homesharing.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.
