How connect to device that sends Midi-Signals via USB?

Hello,
does anybody know how to communicate with a device that sends Midi-Signals via USB? I am working with Windows XP. I would appreciate any kind of hint.

I had a problem with a 5.0.3 project that would cause 5.0.4 to crash. Apple asked for a copy of the project and later told me it was because there were some empty text layers. Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
In my case I still had 5.0.3 on another Mac and could clean up the project. If empty text layers might be the problem, do you know someone with an earlier version who could open it and remove the empty layers? I'd be willing to give it a try if you'd want to send me the project.

  • HT1665 Is there a way to connect a wired keyboard to Ipad2?  Via USB connector/adapter?

Is there a way to connect a wired keyboard to Ipad2?  Via USB adapter?

Actually there have been reports of certain USB keyboards working through the USB adapters like the Apple Camera Connection Kit .  But they are far from consistent.  The best bet is to find a simple keyboard without any bells or whistles as you want one that consumes the least amount of power.
But yes there some that do work through there.

I have a new Macbook pro running 10.8.2 and I am trying to send midi singals to an Elation Magic 260 light controller. I have an M-Audio Midisport USB Uno connected from the macbook to the magic 260. I have installed the drivers for the uno, I can see it show up in my AMS screen and have created an external device for my Magic 260. When I go to test the setup...I get no sgnal coming from the macbook. Just wondering if anyone out there can offer some insight or advice?

  • Bluetooth problem - Cannot Connect to Device that is not copyright protected SCMS-T Method

I have a Qosmio X875-5280 which has a bluetooth adapter. I also have a bluetooth device which is an adapter for a Bose Sounddock such that the device allows the Sounddock to receive the bluetooth audio stream from the laptop -- at least that is how it worked until recently. Diagnostics show that both the bluetooth adapter and the bluetooth device are working. When trying to connect to the device, I now get "connection failed" message or the message "You cannot connect to a device that is not copyright protected by SCMS-T method." It seems the Toshiba bluetooth stack is responsible for this, however, I fail to see why a device which is acting like headphones fails to connect now. I have Windows 7 64 installed. I have uninstalled all of the bluetooth drivers and re-installed them several times. Attached is a pdf file which shows all messages and settings relevant to the issue.

  • Can I use my iphone5 to create a hotspot and then connect a device that requires a ethernet cable to a lan(router) this router obviously needs to use my hotspot to connect?

I need to setup Solar inverters remotely some times and I am looking to see if there is a way to use my iphone to connect the inverter to the internet.  My thought is to create a hotspot and then connect the inverter to a router(it has a ethernet cable that can plug into a lan)  The router is then connected to my iphone.  So something similar than a dongle I suppose?

If you're wanting to share your hot spot with a device that requires an Ethernet connection, you need a device that can connect to Wi-Fi while providing access to that connection via Ethernet.  One idea might be to configure an AirPort Express to serve as a Wi-Fi extender of your hot spot, and plug the solar inverter to the Ethernet port on the Express.

  • WiFi device that plugs directly into the USB slot on a printer?

My next door neighbor has a MacBook with Airport installed.  She wants to use the portable around the house and send documents to a printer located in the basement.  She does not need a router to network additional devices, so what is the most reliable, reasonably priced device that plugs directly into the printer's USB port without the use of a cable (e.g. device with receiving antenna)?  Thanks.
    Bob

Well, Badunit, it's more convenient and takes up less room if it plugs directly into the USB port, plus you save the cost of a cable unless one ships with the unit.  Here are two I found at Amazon:
    http://www.amazon.com/Compact-Wireless-802-11n-Newtork-Adapter/dp/B002VVITG8/ref =sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1311880281&sr=8-6
    http://www.amazon.com/802-11g-Wireless-Long-Rang-Network-Adapter/dp/B0035H4164/r ef=pd_cp_e_4
Trouble is, they have too many negative reviews.  Besides, just how well do they work with the Airport Extreme card since most of these reviews are not Mac related, and those that are are negative?
I'd like a device that is guaranteed to work well with the 2008 MacBook Airport card as the broadcast device.  Perhaps she will have to rely on a separate Linksys router with print server.

  • Connecting MIDI controller via USB

Does anyone know how to connect a Roland SH-201 to a MacBook Pro via USB to use as a midi controller in Logic Express 8. I've installed the SH-201 driver, however I am getting a warning saying it is not compatible with an Intel based Macbook.
Just some general guidance in connecting a keyboard via USB to work within Logic Express 8 would be good.
    Thanks.

Well, if the synth's USB driver is not compatible with your laptop's system, there is nothing you can do about it I'm afraid. There is always an option to get a portable USB to MIDI Interface (price would be around $20-50, I think) and connect your synth to Macbook Pro through it.

  • IPod Touch 4th gen  trouble connecting to my Win-Vista 64bit computer via USB.

    Hi,
I seem to have an issue with my iPod Touch 4G. Ever since upgrading to iOS5.
The iPod Touch has had issues connecting, via direct USB, to my Windows Vista 64 bit computer.  When I connect it, via USB, the computer will report the iPod Touch 4G as an "Unrecognized Device."  This prevents me from using the USB to sync the iPod or charge it via the computer's USB connection.
My work around is to turn off the iPod (via red slide bar method) then connect it to the USB.  At this point, it in it will automatically re-start the iPod and then it will recognize and sync or charge.  I can also connect it have it report as an "Unrecognized Device" leave it connected, turn it off(red slide bar) and turn it back on and it will also connect charge and sync.
The problem is that I must turn it off every time I want to connect it.  I can sync via wi-fi (but this causes issues with music that others have shared with me-keeps asking for their i-Tunes account) (happened after I "re-set" the I-Pod).  I needed to hard sync with the computer to make all the rights work out.
This same USB cable and computer works just fine with my other iPods (Touch 3G, Classic) and my iPhone 4S.  Only problem device is the Touch 4G.  The problematic iPod and same USB cable works without issue on other computers (i.e.:  don't have to turn it off and then plug it in).
I've followed the apple instructions and sequence to remove I-Tunes and a bunch of other related software and then reinstall it.  I've reset my iPod. Nothing corrects this issue with this particular iPod.  I've changed USB ports, tried other USB cables nothing changes the fact that I have to turn off and back on the iPod Touch 4G each time before I can get it to be properly recognized by the computer and thus charge or be recognized by iTunes.
This only started to happen to the iPod Touch 4G after I upgraded it from iOS4 to iOS5.  I also have iOS5 on my iPhone 4S - with no issues.  My other iPod Touch 3G is using iOS4.  It connects and syncs fine.
I've figured out a work around but, does anyone know how to fix this issue?  Thanks

    Hi,
Yes, I have restored from Backup via i-Cloud. I've restored the iPod to factory settings.  It seem like there is a driver issue.  I installed iOS 5.01 and updated iTunes to 10.5.3.3 at about the same time.  Win-Vista64, iTunes and iPod are all up to date.  Apple Genius, at local Apple store was also perplexed.  He suggested I ask the community.  So, here I am.
It is strange that I can connect to other computers.  But, the other computers have Win 7.  Could this be a Vista64 driver issue?

  • Internet Sharing:  Palm Device can't find Internet via USB to Imac G5

None of the internet-using applications on my Palm Tungsten E handheld can find the internet, via a USB connection from the Palm to my Imac G5 and its high speed internet connection.
I have 3rd party software (The Missing Sync 5 from Mark/Space) that is supposed to enable a USB-connected Palm device to share an OS X Mac's internet connection. But I'm not getting beyond the Mac and I think either something on the Imac or perhaps my Linksys router is blocking internet communication to and from the Palm device.
Despite turning off the Mac's firewall and enabling internet sharing in the OS X prefs panes, neither my Palm's web browser nor its mail program can get through to the internet and all I get are communications errors.
I would greatly appreciate suggestions as to what to try next as I have done just about everything I can think of to try to get this Palm to access the internet via the Mac
    IMAC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   750 Mb RAM

Hello Adrian - thank you for your suggestions. The USB-connected PALM does NOT show up in The Imac's "Network Ports" - - and the only thing I could add, as a port, that was not already there, was something called "6 to 4" -whatever that is.
The Palm is supposed to be able to get its internet page requests out onto my router and DSL line via the Mac's ethernet port when: A) this Palm is connected to the Mac via USB and B) when the Internet sharing feature is enabled in a software app called - The Missing Sync, which it is, and when C) Internet Sharing is turned on in the Mac 'Sharing' pref. All these conditions are true, but sadly none of the internet apps on the Palm can find the internet .
I suspect a DNS issue - even though my router of course knows the DNS addresses of my ISP.
I should think that the PALM and the host Mac would have the same IP address - namely the one assigned via DHCP by my router when the Mac boots up.
    Very frustrating....
I know nothing about Palms but I'll give it a
    shot...
You say "Despite turning off the Mac's firewall and
enabling internet sharing in the OS X prefs panes",
are you seeing a USB option in the window? If so
    select it.
If not try going to System Preferences>Network>Show:
Network Port Configurations. (This with the Palm
    plugged in via USB).
Is it in that window? If it is tick it and go back to
internet sharing and select it in that window. (It
    should have now appeared).
If it's not in System Preferences>Network>Show:
Network Port Configurations; select 'New', and click
'Port'. Does it appear in the drop-down list there?
If it does, select it, name it and click OK. (Note:
USB isn't a 'normal' option here but maybe your
Missing Sync will have added it..?)
That will take you back to the main Network Port
Config window where you tick it if it isn't already.
Then go back to Sharing>Internet to see if is
available there. If is is, tick it.
If it isn't, don't know. Sorry.
    Have fun!
    Adrian

  • IOS devices not recognized in iTunes via USB

I am on a Windows 7 x64 home-built computer and I am pretty technically inclined, but this one problem has been bugging me for quite a while now.
I am pleased that Apple wants its devices to sync wirelessly with iTunes from now on, but there are times when it is necessary to plug in the device via USB, such as when transferring large files.
However, in the last few weeks/months, I have noticed that iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 4 nor my iPad 2 when they are plugged in via USB.  The computer recognizes the devices, drivers are installed properly, and I can see the devices in Windows Explorer, getting photos off of them that way.  However, iTunes does not show the devices with that "plugged in" icon next to them, only the usual sync/eject icon.
This is also a problem because sometimes iTunes just won't "see" the devices, but sometimes it will.  Regardless, I need to be able to tether them sometimes for transferring relatively large files via USB.  Wi-Fi just isn't fast enough.  I suppose I may have to disable Wireless syncing altogether, but I fear that may not fix the problem, because it was syncing via USB just fine in the early weeks of iOS 5 and with wireless syncing enabled.  I do have the latest iTunes, I do have the latest firmware for both devices, and I have rebooted both my computer and the devices several times lately, all without effect.
I've done all the simple solutions and none of them have worked.  Can anyone explain what's going on and, more importantly, what I can do about it?

Yeah, I've tried 5 out of the 7 steps shown in their troubleshooter.  The sixth step is one that is a major pain and I doubt would fix the problem: Reinstall iTunes.  I know enough about PCs to feel about 80% confident that this step would not fix the issue.  Plus, it's a major hassle with re-adding music to the collection.  Nevertheless, I will look at it as a last ditch effort.
The seventh step is extremely vague and doesn't really help.  "There might be a software conflict."  Fine, but there's no way to find any such conflict, if one even exists in the first place, without a heavy dose of trial-and-error, several hours of time, dozens of reboots, and the patience of Job.
However, they do list some other steps that I'll try when I get home, such as making sure certain services are installed and running.  I'll post my results here.  Thanks, wiclee.

  • How Connecting Input Device to portal

    Hi,
My requirement is below, pls go through and help.
Our client is having hospitals in different locations. So whenever a patient arrives, the patient will update his details in an Input Device. So from this device the information should pass to the portal. Later after the patient gets the treatment, his details will be maintained(name, medicine details, treatment undergone...etc..). Also in future we should be able to search the patient details.
Can anyone help me how to connect any external device to portal. and also to maintain all the details wht type of iview should be created.
    Regards
    Jay

    Hi,
Portal itself is an interface for the end user. If you want to store any data, then you have to develop User interface in any technology and deploy it in portal. To store that data you have to integrate any backend system(like SAP R3) and there you can store data.
Portal cannot store the data as you thinking.
