How Copy Control works

Hi All,
We need to implement copy control between sales order to delivery and delivery to invoice for 2 custom fields.
Could you please suggest the steps to implement this?

Run transaction VOFM and select Copy Requirement or Data Transfer (I guess Data Transfer is the one you need reading "copy control"), You will find plenty examples of standard SAP routines.

How does the new shuttle control work in Apex 3.1?

Hi,
I have tried creating a shuttle type control in Apex 3.1. I have based it on a list of Items from my Items table. I can move Items from the left side to the right, and from there I can move them up & down, but whatever I do only seems to affect the page display and has no effect on my tables.
Can anyone explain how this control works and what it's meant to do? Could I, for example, use it to copy records from one table to another?

The Shuttle is a type of multi-select. It produces a comma delimited string of your selected values. It is useful in wizards, where you need to select multiple items from a single list (like selecting columns from a table). You can also use it against a 'real' table if you have not normalized. Let's say you have a table that stores meetings and one column lists the people invited. You could use a shuttle to select invitees (using an lov from your people table).

Copy control invoice - order - KDMAT will not be there

Hi Experts!
we create customer orders (in this case credit notes) with reference to an invoice.
the problem is that the field vbap-kdmat is empty in the copy control and so it could not be filled into the new order.
in VTAF we use the copy requirement 153 Item from bill.doc.
in the PO tab of the invoice the customer material is filled (manually)
We don't have set up information in VD51 but we fill the customer material with some information and this should be copied into the returns.
does anyone have an idea how to get the copy control working?
I tried to change the 153 to 151 where the source says:
vbap-kdmat = cvbap-kdmat.
but without the value in vbap (it is empty while executing this code) the field will remain empty.

billing level PO tab customer material number comes through order , here table also VBAP, so actually this PO tab all fields are display mode only ,
when enter the sale order item PO tab level enter the customer material number , then pass to same billing level ,
when billing level you enter manually this data fet at VBAP table only ,
so you assign the copy routine 151 then on kdmat copy billing to credit memo order OR we maintain same kdmat in main order its copy to billing then also copy credit memo also

Returns Order Copy Control

Dear Auto wizards,
We are using the standard returns sales order in the VMS. The std copy control for the returns doc (sales order) is based on the (forward) sales order and as per the settings in R3 copy control for the sales order to order.
The error we are facing is expplained as follows:
If multiple vehicles say A & B are selected in a forward order and the returns order is made for the vehicle B then the returns order is picking up the value / pricing details for vehicle A. I tried several instances and realise that the returns ordr is NOT checking the 'item' or its "batch no" at the sr nos in the fwd order but simply copying the pricing values of the fwd order in the SAME sequence and not of relating to the sequence as per the returns order or in other words not picking up the pricing of B which was actually at sr no 2 in the fwd order.
When the vehicles and / or the prices are different, the returns order gives errors.
Any advise on ways to eliminate this would be highly rewarded!!!

I do agree and understand that there is a possible flaw in the copy control. But I beg to differ that my process could be incorrect. Do review the same, as I elaborate it further.
I would choose 2 units...i.e. 2 batch nos (int veh nos), hence 2 VINs, hence "could be" 2 different vehicles for the SAME customer..OF the SAME sales area. As the order would be one, hence the sales areas would be required to be same. From all this, I am intending to make a sales order of two units / Batch nos to one customer. What could be wrong in this process. the customer CAN buy more than one vehicle at one time and could insist for one single document. So in my opinion the process is not wrong.
The handling of this by SAP is wrong and if you give me a moment to elaborate further, I would say it in this manner:
If we had a similar case in R3 where we would have made an order for the similar vehicles and invoiced. We would be doing a rversal based on the billing document. And the basic difference starts here: in R3 when we initiate a reversal, we choose the DOCUMENT..the reversal / return sales order to be created...copied from?...the forward billing doc..ALL the items get copied into the return sales order based on the copy control..correct? then IF we have partial have reversals, we go fwd and 'delete those line items' which are NOT required to be reversed. By this time the item values, sequencing everything has been copied..and after deletion we are (consciously) keeping only those required, hence the sequencing doesnt change and all is ok.
Whereas inVMS we start from the WHICH vehicle?...meaning which batch no. to be reversed..and THEN we choose the return sales order creation action.....so we have 'already' chosen the item(s) to be reversed THEN we make the document and THEN the copy control works...unlike the R3 scenario.
Based on this how can the functional process be wronged.? Hence the system has to be corrected rather than the process. Please do enlighten if you think otherwise.

Copy control can be associated with the transfer of data between the various sales documents from a Quotation to Cash. Thus, copy control forms part of the document flow process. Copy control uses data at the header and schedule line level. Copy control determines which data is to be transfered, a copy control can be set to ensure copying of data at predefined time intervals. Similarly, with copy control one can also specify when to stop the copying process. Copy control is important in another way since it helps in determing wether new prices are used or not.

How to delete a Item line in a Sales Order during Copy Control

I want to delete a Line item (VBAP ) record for a certain condition during Copying from reference . I am writing the code in the Data Transfer Routine 151 which is called through VOFM Transaction . I cannot delete it as it . it is a work area VBAP . When i Clear it in debugging i am only able to clear the Line items . I want to completely remove the line . Is there a user exit for the same .

You should create a new copy requirement routine at item level in order to exclude the unwanted item.
Assign the requirement routine to each item category type in the copy control .

I have a request to create a sales order reference to a invoice. But in SPRO pricing procedure determination,i config different pricing procedure.
e.g. invoice ---procedure A
sales order-----procedure B
when i create the sales order , the procedure is A which is copied from invoice ,but i hope the procedure is B.
how should i config the copy control. I have tried the B and C in pricing type of copy control.

and also maintain settings in OVKK and test the cycle

How to make use of customer reserve pricing types in copying control

Hi All
Please inform how to make use of 'customer reserve' pricing types like 'X,Y,Z & 1-9' keys in copying control.
Right now I'm on maintenance & supporting project for european client. They used pricing type 'Z' for copying condition records from stadard sales order to returns(RE) order. I wanted to know that what is 'Z' and how it is functioning to resolve one urgent ticket assigned to me.
Could you please guide me where should I verify its logic.

Hi Seshu,
Pricing type changes will done at user exit level. You may want to look at the user exit USEREXIT_PRICING_RULE (module pool SAPLV61A, program RV61AFZA)
Also, OSS note 24832 will help you to get an understanding.

Hi Nag,
Go to [VOFM] use Data Transfer option and create a new routine. Make sure the new routine has the existing logic and fields included along with the new fields that are to be copied. Activate the routine and assign it to the Sales to Billing Document Copy Control.

Apparently you have two catalogs now, one from each installation. If you did importing, tagging and editing during the first installation, that will all be in the first catalog. Find the first catalog - it is a file with the suffix .lrcat and the default place for LR to put it is usually your Pictures folder - and (with LR closed) double-click on it. LR will launch with catalog #1 active.

It should. First, turn on BlueTooth on the computer. In BT preferences be sure to check the option to look for all devices. Your remote should be picked up and a notice asking if you want to Pair it with the computer. Select Yes. Once it is paired it can be used to control your computer.

How copy IBASE in copy control badi

I add some field in an task document for input IBASE and componet and then I want to create follow up transaction , it's a service order , I want to use copy control badi to fill the IBASE and componet fields from task to order , so I write some code in the method REFOBJ of the copy control badi.
But when I debug this programe ,I found it will not call this method ,and if I set a breakpoint in the method ORDERADM_H, it is OK .
I have define copy control for transaction type and fill the copy routine .
Does it have any confingration can let it call the REFOBJ method ?

If you drag a file to a new location on the same volume the file will be moved. If you drag the file while holding down the option key it will be copied to the new location instead of moved. You can also Copy/Paste a file like you do in Windows. You cannot, however, Cut/Paste a file to move it.
