How could I completely get rid of application in ONE step?

Say I installed 10 apps from the phone, in the next sync w/ computer, they got sync'ed into my iTunes. After a few days I deleted 5 of them from the phone, but they showed up again after the next sync -- they were copied from the computer back to the phone.
The only way I have found out to do the deletion in one step is to delete apps from iTunes program "while iPhone is connected", that is a pain in the butt because I usually only sync it once every 2-3 weeks. Every time I sync, I need to spend a lot of tiem cleaning those apps which were deleted on the phone, from iTunes program.
Is there any way I can setup my iPhone or my iTunes, so that an app will be considered DELETED when I do that from the phone?

Here's what you want to do:
1. In iTunes (with your iPhone plugged in), choose your iPhone under Device on the left.
2. Click Applications Tab
3. Choose Sync Applications and Selected Applications
(If you choose All Applications, you will get the behavior you don't want)
Now when you delete an APP from your iPhone, it will remain in iTunes, but will be unchecked
from the list and will not be put back on the iPhone when you sync.
Viola!

  • How can i completely get rid of coldfusion?

I installed coldfusion 10 as developer and now i want to completely get rid of coldfusion and everything that has to do with it. Im new to a mac so i dont really know how to do it. I also ticked the box for start coldfusion on startup which i want to get rid of as well. If i just uninstall it using the uninstaller given will it do the job?

Just use the coldfusion uninstaller and do not use anything else.  These so called third party uninstallers are very basic in what they look for and can do more damage than  they are worth thinking something needs to be uninstalled which may be totaly unrelated to what needs to be uninstalled.  Stick with author provided uninstallers and don't worry about a plist or some Application Support file the provided uninstaller may or may not leave behind.

  • How do I completely get rid of soundflower on Mountain Lion?

I already know the answer to this but I figured you guys could use a solution so you don't end up searching the entire web.  When you install soundflower it comes with an uninstaller script that ONLY removes the application itself.  If you look in the audio midi setup or sound output/input preferences window you'll find soundflower options still there .
I tried numerous ways to get rid off it and looked it up on Google as well.  I finally got rid of it by going to the Library folder in your Hard Drive (Sidebar), selected Preferences, and clicked on the audio folder.  Two .plist files are present DELETE BOTH the com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist & com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist.  Restart your mac and you should not see soundflower ch. 2 or 16 as an option anymore.
(P.S. I didn't delete any other files other than those 2 files I listed above)

If you really want to start fresh and you have ANY PERSONAL files already backed up, or you don't care about them, stick the thumb drive in the USB port and reboot the system. Hold down the Option key when you hear the apple startup sound, let it go after about 15-20 second. That will give you a screen where you select which drive to boot off of, select the thumb drive. Once that has booted go to Disk Utility and RE-Partition the drive. That will wipe all information off it. Once that is done close Disk Utility and you will be back at the original screen. Select Install OS X Lion.

Also, sometimes, an add-on will still be visible in the Firefox about:config. Add-ons still left here, after having been uninstalled, can be removed manually by right-clicking the entries made in about:config and choosing "reset" from the menu. Do this for all of the entries, restart Firefox and they should all be gone.

  • How do i completely get rid of my Macintosh HD so I can start fresh and install mac os x Lion thumb drive

I just purchased the thumb drive for OS X Lion. As far as I know, because I only have 10.5.8 and I do not want to purchase Snow Lpd. I can just delete everything and start from scratch (according to an employee at the Apple Store). The problem is that I have no idea how to "start from scratch", its not as easy as dragging my Macintosh HD icon from my desktop to the trash can. HELP!

  • Factory reset iPhone because I'm selling it. Some how it still has data on it. How do I completely get rid of this?

I've recently repaired the cracked screen and wiped my iPhone for me to sell, however when I went back into Settings > General > Usage I still have data that's being stored. I don't feel comfortable selling my iPhone with this info still on it. Is there a way to completely remove this data? I've also done Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings yet this stored data still remains. (see picture for issue)

I have turned off "find my iPhone" and reset through iTunes. Then itunes says "Welcome" I dont sync it. I then go through the actual phone set up with selecting language, wifi, location, etc. Here you have the option to skip Apple ID, passcode and wifi set up (which I skip all) and the phone takes you to the home screen. From there I double check to see if my usage is empty in which brings me here with this problem of data still being there even though there shouldnt be any. I dont even have this iPhone activated with my provider anymore so I cant send messages or make calls yet the data is there when the phone isnt active. Im just really confused as to why after wiping the phone I still have data on it.

    Hi,
obviously you try to drag and drop a component to a place where it breaks the document. Make sure the table is added to the JSP body. Have a look at the page sources for existing syntax problems - e.g. missing close elemenents or misplaced elements

  • How to clean or get rid of duplicate files or pictures?

How to clean or get rid of duplicate files or pictures mac osx mountain lion? Many pictures do not open and show alias. I have too many of each.        Thank you
    Barbara

The only real and safe way to do this is to do it manually  looking through each folder individually.
Many third party utilities claim to clean out a hard drive of various detritus, but some times will deleted data that it shouldn't  and delete important data and that it shouldn't have.
The only "safe" way to accomplish what you need to accomplish is to do this manually.
Stay away from the OS X system folder!!!!!
If you had a duplicate system install and had duplicate system files, your iMac would not be running right now.
    Hard drive getting full?
You can download an app called OmniDiskSweeper.
This app will allow you to see where files maybe able to be delete are located.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you have images stored in iPhoto,,the only way to weed out duplicates is to do this manually.
When you delete them, they go to iPhoto's Trash. Remember to empty this when you are done.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what are duplicates and what isn't
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • How do I safely get rid of a partition?

    hi
i recently bought a powrmac g4 off ebay with a 933 Mhz processor, 1.25 GB RAM and a 120 gig HD that was partitioned into 2 drives (by, i assume, the previous owner) with one of them running the OS. I just installed a new shiney Maxtor 200 gig HD and wanted to get rid of the partition in the 1st HD but still boot from it. The problem is that the OS already on the drive is newer than the one that I have the disk for, so if I erase it (the drive) then re-install the OS with the disk I have, it will be out of date. The other problem is that I'm not sure of the risks involved in this operation; there are some applications on the 1st HD that I don't have the disks for (as they came with the computer) that are valuable and I don't want to lose.
    So...
How do I safely get rid of the partition on the 12o GB hard drive?
    Thanks
    Dave

Use the Restore function of Disk Utility or CarbonCopyCloner to copy all the files from the 120GB HD to the new HD. Then boot to the new HD & use Disk Utility to erase & format the 120GB HD to one partition. (Make sure the new HD & files are working properly before you erase the old HD.)
You may be able to use only 128GB on the 200GB HD. Look at these links.
