I'd like to be able to turn the Command key->Windows key mapping off. In this new app, whenever I use the Command key to initiate a Mac-side function, it registers a press of the Windows key within the Remote Desktop session. Speaking
only for myself, I use the Command Key for quite a lot of Mac operations, while my need and expectation for a Windows key press is zero.
Agreed. Cannot stop it by disabling the "Windows" key (from within Windows 7). Every time I Cmd-Tab to change apps, the Start Menu pops up,
and persists, overlaying other app windows. Much more than annoying.
Also, there is no Clipboard Sharing, apparently. Love typing in long binary strings into the Registry.

the login window comes on not once but I'll get 5 or sometimes 6 different windows how do I fix this so that I get NO windows asking me for login name and password?

Is this when you (re)start Firefox?
If this is the case then it can happen if you didn't close the tabs before closing Firefox and aren't keeping the cookies, so Gmail no longer recognizes you and you are logged off from all those open tabs.
So to prevent this you need to log off from Gmail and close all open Gmail tabs.
Websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection. All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again. The big arrowhead just get's in the way. The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down. If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.

If you press the Home button and open Security, you can change "Auto Lock Device" to "Never". Does that do what you want?

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.
However bothers me is the lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In Bios I could turn off the led illumination, but the power on/off button is still lighting,that distracts me when i am working.
This notebook has two power LED, so the power on lighting is in my opinion, unnecessary.
My question is: How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Yes in fact, the difference is color, design, but also location and brightness of the LED.

I was today at a local electronics store, and saw that Toshiba has the brightest Power LED on A660, but why it must be placed under the LCD and not in the front as in my old notebook Toshiba A210.
I also had the idea with a tape, but it would look ugly, and it must be removable without residue.
P.S. Also the fingerprints on the glossy keyboard do not look nice.

Decided to give the full Ubuntu system answer to this and it works just fine.
In a terminal issue the command: sudo /usr/sbin/gdmsetup
This will bring up the gdm gui and there you can turn off auto login, and the timed login.
