How could the website look fine on my computer.. but not on another.

In one of my websites www.acsmechanical.net, the images aren't lining up with the background I created. I got it to look right on my computer, but when I use another computer and go to the site there is a "gap". Different screen resolution maybe? How can I make the website look right regardless of the computer? Pleeeeaseeee help me.

I'm sorry, I fired off my repy without seeing that you had asked on how to solve the issue.
I think the problem is your using tables, they are always hard to line up in that fashion. With the way you have the overlapping, it would take some doing with <div> tags, but it looks doable.
If no one provides yhou with the anwer, I will try to look at it later tonight, have to run off soon.

When I look at my website it loads up as an index with the heading on the top line and then a link saying "skip to content" and then the navigation is in bullet points. Make sure that you do not block the CSS files on that page.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Look with firefox this page and with Intenet Explorer and see the differents. In Firefox the menu show nice, but into Intenet Explorer not!!
When i open the same page lokale the page ist good till I alow the script inside Internet Explorer....

Alvast hartelijk dank voor de tips, de voorgestelde wijzegingen staan nu online. Maandag kijk ik hier nog verder naar, nu heb ik nog wat weibg marge links en rechts en staat het submenu nog iets te ver weg.
Als het mogelijk is zou ik de pijljes het liefst voor de tekst willen hebben (maar dat vindt ik minder belangrijk).

Now everything works nice, I can now chancing the Layout, but watt is wrong!!

Why page looks fine in Design view but not live view?

I am new to DW. I created a page that looks fine in design view but now I cant get it to show up in live view or the browser preview. Can some one give me some areas to troubleshoot. Most of the code is from a previous page I created that still looks fine in every view. I am not sure what I could be doing different in setting up this site.

I just needed to remove the forward slash from my stylesheet declaration. FYI for anyone else new to DW: if stuffs not showing in Live View and Browser Preview eg background images, Go to Manage Sites and check your site setting for Links relative to: You may have switched between document and site root. Thus breaking your links to images or in my case the entire style sheet.

When trying to update and install Mountain Lion's 10.8.3 update from 10.8.2, the App Store will restart my computer but not install the update. Any ideas on how to update my Macbook Pro 15" from 2008?

I was wondering, does anyone have an idea on how to update my Macbook Pro 15" to Mountain Lion's 10.8.3 from Mountain Lion's 10.8.2 version? When I attempt to use the App Store, it will restart my computer but it will not install the update. The update also still shows up in the App Store as available and when going to "About my Mac," it still shows the current version being 10.8.2.

Page looks fine in live view but not fine in safari

my index.html page looks okay in live view, but when i open it in safari some of my text is unformated. My CSS page is correct so the problem lies in my code. I have attached the html file, any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

My page loads fine on my computer but not others.

I have been using iweb for over a year now .  The previous version worked okay, I had a few layout problems but I just tweaked some things so even though it doesn't look right on iweb, it looks good when I visit my site.
However, it only looks good when I visit the site on my computer.  When I got to any other computer (mac or pc) it looks like crap.  The font is all wrong and the layout *****, nothing is where it should be.
I've dealt with the fact that I have to place things off center on iweb in order for it to appear properly on my web page, but the fact that it only looks good on my computer is unacceptable.
How can I alleviate one if not both problems?
I've cleared out my browsers cache, but that hasn't changed anything.  I've also published at least five times since first encountering this problem and while the updates I've made have posted on my browser, it doesn't seem to affect the layout or fonts on another computer.

I can hear the music from itunes on my computer but not on my ipod

I purchased a new ipod nano today and unable to hear the music on it I am showing songs on the ipod so appears it synced ok. When I play the songs in itunes on my computer I can hear them but not through the earphones on ipod

Yes, I was stuggling with that for hours. You need to make sure you have pushed the plug right in so you cannot see the metal area.

My ipod was working fine, I downloaded some new songs and the sync would not come up. Eventually it did but all the songs did not download. I was trying to do the song that were on my computer but not the ipod. no I have no content in my ipod.

Slit Scan looks fine in Motion preview but not when I Export to Movie

I have a project that I finally got to look exactly the way I wanted, but when I export it to a Quicktime Movie, it's all messed up. I used the Slit Scan filter on a PSD image for the background, and it looks great in the preview in Motion, but when I go to export it, the top half and the bottom half alternately drop out to black. I've tried every setting I can think of but nothing changes it. I've tried several different export options as well, but no luck. I'm up against a hard deadline and I just can't get it to work. Anyone have any ideas?

In the export settings, I typically just leave everything as current settings, and use canvas settings, but I've tried changing everything and nothing makes any difference. I posted it to YouTube if you'd like to see what the problem is. The link is:

You can see at about the 3 second mark that the Castle logo with drop shadow is on a black background. The background isn't ever supposed to be black, and isn't in the canvas window. It's supposed to vary from light gray, to yellow and white, but never black. There is also supposed to be a white horizontal glow that spans the width of the frame right about the center, and that has just dropped out completely. The top also drops to black and shouldn't. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Websites work on my work computer, but not at home?

I have an iMac G5 20" 2.0GHz OSX 10.4.7 at work running Safari 2 that will open any website I want, but when I get home and try to open the same websites on my iMac G5 20" 2.1GHz OSX 10.4.7 running Safari 2, they don't open.
I don't believe the sites are just down at the same time everyday. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you would like to turn on the built-in firewall on your Mac, you could do the followings:
1. Select System Preferences
2. Under the Internet & network section, select Sharing
3. Select the Firewall tab, click on the Start button to turn it on. You also may want to enable the Stealth mode by click on the Advanced... button
There is a couple of services that you may want to enable while you are configuring the network sharing, I normally turn on SSH and FTP for remote access.

For non-purchased music like CD ripped songs, you need some third party software like sharepod, yamipod or iPod file manager to copy them from iPod back to computer. if you need details, here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.
