  • Can't convert MP4 to .fLV for flash using encoder CC 2014

    Hi
Seriously adobe, I wish I never upgraded to CC, it's been a nightmare.
I need to convert an MP4 to an .flv for flash pro CC. Encoder CC no longer supports this, which is UNBELIEVABLE....
I use a third party vendor for video in flash banner advertising and it only supports .flv files.
Can someone tell me what other programs allow me to so the MP4 to FLV conversion?

The previous version of Adobe Media Encoder or After Effects, which you can have installed alongside the current version:

  • My YouTube video looks blurry using Adobe Media Encoder

Im trying to upload a video to YouTube but the video always turns out blurry and pixilated regardless of what settings I use in my Adobe Media Encoder. I shot the video on a Sony 1080i HD camcorder, I know YouTube reduces the quality but I expect my images (ie peoples faces) should still be clear enough to see but that hasnt been the case. I went to the following site for guidance but I still cant get it right.
    http://www.squidoo.com/youtuberight
Here are my settings that I thought would make my video look great on YouTube. What am I doing wrong?
    H.264 format
    Frame Width (pixels): 320
    Frame Height (pixels): 240
    4:3 Aspect Ratio
    30 frames per second
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 1 Pass
    Target Bitrate (Mbps): 0.344
    Maximum Bitrate (Mbps): 0.64
    MP3 audio

I heard sometime ago that YouTube converts everything uploaded to
Flash or FLV format. I have not used the iPod format for this purpose in CS3 but Rick has obviously found that it works well, however, I would recommend using Adobe Media Encoder to FLV and set it to 320X240 with no more than 1MB/sec bit rate to maximize quality and minimize file size since it's not going to be larger than that on Youtube.
The FLV raw file will be ecoded using VP6 or Sorenson's older version courtesy of PPro CS3 unfortunatley, but I feel the best codec to use is 264. Why PPro, especially CS3, does not offer this codec is unkown. That could be a reason why Rick's videos look good and that he may have shot them in HD. But then again, HD to 320X240 would seem to be self defeating. iPod format is indeed, believe it or not, 720X480. If you have published anything to the iTunes store, this is a required format which is not optional as it is with Youtube.

  • No Sound When Converting to Cineform AVI with Adobe Media Encoder

I've found that I totally prefer to convert my AVCHD files to Cineform AVI, it looks great and is much easier to edit for sure! I did it using the trial version of Neoscene but found I can do it via Premiere and the Adobe Media Encoder. so, I tried the later two.
When I first tried with Neoscene I didn't have sound with the converted files. I tried to trouble shoot this in a couple of ways that were suggested online. The thing that finally worked was downloading and installing some ac3 thing...
When I later converted using adobe media encoder it didn't have audio. I can't seem to find a resolve anywhere for this. It does however have audio if I do it through Premiere. But, that would be a tedious process to convert a lot of files through premiere, it would be profoundly easier using the media encoder.
So, does anyone know how i can fix this?

I haven't posted on the cineform website, I assume they want people to straight up buy their stuff and prefer people are ignorant to the fact they can do it through AME for free (provided they already have it). It's convienent for them that it is broken, encouraging people to buy their software... (assuming they think like this;).
I don't know what HDLink is... I don't know what you mean by "the AC3 thing" either...
Thanks for the prompt posting, I would love to know how to resolve this!!!

  • Smallest Video Size Possible in Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello,
I have a lot of realmedia audio files that I need to convert to mp4 so that I can put them into InDesign. The reason I want them as mp4 and not mp3 is because I need the seek controls along with the normal play, stop, etc, I need to be able to move forward and backward through the audio as I like, using the seek function is a big deal in this project, and I don't think that is possible if I just place an audio mp3 file into InDesign? If it is, that would be ideal, so please let me know.
Anyway, assuming that it isn't, I'm able to convert the rm files to mp4 ok, but they don't work in InDesign until I run them through Adobe Media Encoder, my question is: there are no video scenes to this 'video' it's just a black screen with the audio playing, what settings do I choose in Adobe Media Encoder to make the video file size as small as humanly possible since all I need is the audio in that video format?
I don't know the first thing about AME so would be grateful for your input as to which exact settings I need to change.

Ok so that didn't work because I needed the video but because of your answer I had to go searching to find where the option to export video was and as a result was able to find all those options that I never saw before, I've managed to get it to be quite a small file size now by messing around with the settings. Thanks.

All kind of help is appreciated since I already spent more than a day trying to get this to work.

Even Main Profile, Level 3.1 (compressed with AME CS5) works in the real thing when embedding according to my "reports".

  • On the newest itunes, how do you convert videos or songs to be the right version for my ipod?

on the previous version, you just had to go to the advanced tab and there was a convert to my ipod/ipad/itouch option.
where is it on the newest version? or is there just not one on this version?

iTunes should automatically convert the songs to the format compatible for iPod. If not, follow through this:

  • Adobe Media Encoder - not encoding entire video

    Hi,
I'm runining CS4 Design Premium on a Windows XP machine. I'm trying to convert an .avi to .flv, but Adobe Media Encoder is only converting the first few minutes of the video. Is there a file size limit for the source media? My .avi is pretty huge, almost 2 GB. Could that be the problem?
    Thanks!

I'd ask you to post in the Adobe Media Encoder forum, but I cannot find one :-( Perhaps the After Effects forum or Premiere forum will know an answer or where to look. People here are not likely to have an answer.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 does not preview video in Lion 10.7.3

In response to a question in the Adobe Forums about this [ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4302817#4302817 ], Adobe said:
Apple changed something in 10.7.3 and we thought we worked with them to find all the fall out.  This one slipped through.  We will work with Apple to determine how we can address this.
Are there any updates on when this will be fixed? Not being able to preview video in AME5.5/MacOS 10.7.3 is a serious bug. I have to go back to an earlier version of AME on a Windows machine to encode FLVs.

  • Adobe Media Encoder making blocky videos

The backstory: I have two Mac laptops: an old Powerbook G4/Panther running Imovie 4 and a brand new Macbook Pro/Snow Leopard running Imovie 9.
I've now made several FLVs that play beautifully on the internet: I imported old clips *that had been extracted using the Powerbook/Imovie 4* into my Macbook Pro/Imovie 9, edited the videos in Imovie 9, exported them as standard m4vs, then encoded them into FLVs using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 4.2+. They look terrific.
    The problem:
For the first time yesterday, I used my Macbook/Imovie 9 combo to import clips shot with the same exact camera, then did everything exactly the same. The exported m4vs look fine. However, the resulting re-encoded FLVs are badly blocky, as though a mosaic filter was laid on. This is mostly happening when there is any increased motion in the footage.
I tried exporting into .mov then encoding for Flash in the same way, and no difference. The adjustment I'm currently trying is to bypass the presets on AME to enable a 2-pass scan rather than 1. There does not appear to be a keyframe-interval selection option in AME CS4 4.2, or I would adjust that as well. This custom encoding is taking 5 times as long to complete as the preset encoding: over an hour versus 15-16 minutes. It may or may not work, but regardless, I don't have that kind of time - I have a bunch of videos to make.
I'm really sick about this, because my beloved Powerbook has a dying harddrive, which is why I bought the new laptop. I don't want to believe that it was Imovie 4 that was responsible for those lovely videos. Later Macs no longer support Imovie.
Is there something I'm missing that will make AME work with Imovie 9 to eliminate the problem? I know Imovie 9 is a turkey, but it did make those lovely videos with the old clips from version 4. There's gotta be a way.
    Thanks in advance.

After playing Youtube go to your temp internet
files and copy the file to HDD which is a mp4.
Add this to the Media Encoder and see if it will work now.
If it still does not work, your ME is prob. not working right.
I sometimes use AME as a converter and it handles mp4 just fine.

  • Exporting Video with Adobe Media Encoder filled up my OS Drive

I exported a 2+ hour video queued from Premiere CC 2014 to Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014. I had some dynamically linked files to both AE CC 2014 and AU CC 2014. All my media caches where set to a different drive on my pc. After the export was done, I was left from 42 GB on the OS to 13 GB on the OS drive. Does anyone have a clue of what happened and where those "cached" files might be so I can get rid of them?
I would greatly appreciate some guidance in this matter.
    Cordially,
    Edwin

    To whom it may concern,
I have resolved my own problem. I did some minor maintenance on my computer, some file management and got the GB on my OS drive up to 33 GB. I restarted my computer and it booted up with 75.5 GB on the OS drive. It seems to have "flushed" all the previously cashed files from my export. If anyone has a clear idea of how this happened, I would love to know still. If anyone is interested on knowing what I did as "maintenance" I can also share this. Just post a reply to this discussion and I will share.
    Cordially,
    Edwin

    hello everyone
i would like to be sure that i'm setting an mp4 h264 video with the CABAC option.
in the video settings of the Adobe Media Encoder cc2014 i didn't find this option.
i know that i have to put the profile at Main, and i did!
somebody can tell me where i can set or verify that CABAC option in On?

[Moved from the generic Cloud forum to the specific Program forum... Mod]

AME only uses the CABAC option for h.264 so there is no setting to set.
